Title: Fireworks?
Post by: WkeBrd3 on July 02, 2007, 10:45:54 AM
Where's everyone watching? Who puts on the best show?

I'm thinking Mineola Bay.

I'll hit Wauconda on the 3rd.  They usually have beer on tap, decent food and a decent show.  Then I can get all liquored up on my day off on the 4th and not drive anywhere.  :P  After Waucondafest and the 4th, I'll have my fill of drinking MGD in Cook Park until next June!  :P  :P  :P

From the price they spend on the show, Mineola Bay looks to be the best one in Lake County by far.  I'm a transplant, and I have never heard of it before.

Fox Lake.  Info says they spend $65,000 on the show.  Wauconda spends $17,000.  The Mineola Bay show is listed for Saturday the 7th.

The only time I remember not having fun at Wauconda was a year that it rained and the park was flooded.  I can't remember if that was for fireworks or Waucondafest.

the mineola bay fireworks are one of the better shows but it might be just cause my fam has a house on the east side of the bay and we get front row seats. downtown chicagos are good also if you dont mind dealing with over a million people.
