Is there anyone good at creating flyers on the computer(other than Jim)? I suck at creative stuff. It would be nice to have a 1 sheet flyer about DISContinuum & what we offer. What would be inclued-] Membership Dues, Club stamp discs, Leagues, Tournaments, & any other great stuff we provide. This way we could hand it out to any new players on the course or @ leagues. Can anyone take care of this?

We had 4 Juniors!

Good idea aboot a Juniors only event!  Jon Brakel could probably be a good contact for other somewhat local Juniors. Also contact YMCA, Scouts (Trigg is a Troop Leader), and others. Could be big, baby!  Getting into some more schools or having Brett do some stuff at Jefferson/Carmel would be good prep work, priming the youth of America to try out disc golf.

Regarding the 2003 Blast, if we get enough players, how does this sound:

Junior I Boys (12 & under), Junior II Boys (13-17),

Junior I Girls (12 & under), Junior II Girls (13-17), a general Recreational Division (all ages), and Amateurs on Saturday.  Prizes, no cash.

Recs & Juniors-$15

Ams-$20

Payout half or more of the field and give some unique sort of player's package like a towel, shirt, or keychain which is cool, yet cheaper than discs. Take a percentage of their entry fees and slide 'em over to Sunday's players, who are:

Pro-$33

Advanced-$28

Cash payout similar to this year's but Jason will adjust appropriately.

What say?

I've got no problem with any of that, except that I would not trust each person to keep his own score. One scorecard per group keeps things simple - and honest.

I think that format has some +'s  & -'s.   +'s--] Would have less congestion on the course. Play would be much faster. Grouping would be easier to do & the overall whole of organizing would be easier. We would also have more workers to help out since some of our club members could help on the day that they are not playing. -'s --] We would have to setup & take down the alternate baskets twice. We would have to supply workers & food for 2 days. If we opened junior divisions & we only had a few in each division, what would we do? My thoughts--] I really liked the format this year. It was very successful. I always use the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" I would keep the format the same maybe splitting rec into junior & adult. I would keep the tournament on a Saturday for everyone. The play really wasn't that slow. The only round it got backed up was the 3rd round. I think we should make it 18 holes. I think this would have spread us out in the afternoon. Another thing I would change for the next one is the path being out of bounds. Again, we had quite a few complaints about the path being out of bounds. I say we keep the out of bounds as simple as possible. Streets, tennis court, basketball court, softball field, water & yards on east side out of bounds. Also, grouping, rank each division top to bottom & keep best scores in 1 group. 2nd best scores in next group & so on.  I was bummed I didn't get to play in the top 4 pros. I didn't realize when I finished I was only 1 shot off 2nd place. Towards the end of the 4th round I thought I was totally out of contention. Next, score cards-] Make a score card for each player. This way you do not have to make a new score card each round. You hand out the top 4 or 5 scores in a group(division) & send them on their way. This would save a bunch of time.

@ the BG tournament each person had his/her own score card. Each person from the playing group shared the score keeping. It was very simple to do. You even get to keep your score card when you are done. It was much easier than having to fill out 10-14 score cards per round.

Brett, how about adding a junior's tournament next summer? Angela and I would be willing to do that; just another item to add to the flyer.

After the Blast on Saturday, I was thinking that maybe we should have two divisions of recreational:  adult and junior.  That would sort of take care of the juniors tournament while also giving them a chance to see other players as well.

That sounds like a great idea!!  How many juniors did we wind up having at the Blast, anyway?

Consider it done my friend.

Gimmie a few days to throw something together. Also if you think of anything specific you would like on the flyer let me know.

P.S. Sorry I wasn't at leagues this morning the significant other strictly forbade it. (Even after I gave her a box of chocolates last night as a bribe:-))
