Opinions please, esp. in the 165-169 range.
I'm not sure if I've ever actually seen a Star Orc.
I'm in need of at least one of either if they're similar.
based on my expieriences the star is grippier but the champion still feels better in my hand. I think the best Orcs are the older champion that is mostly opaque
I'm a weenie-arm, but here is what I experienced. I had a lot of success with the Pro Orc and tried the Champion Orc as a replacement. Bad move for me. The Champ Orc for me was very overstable, it had a lot of fade at the end. I could not throw it nearly as far as the Pro Orc. I tried to beat it in, but to no avail. I had a few throws with the Star Orc, and it was in between. It held its line longer and had less fade than the Champ Orc, so I was getting better distance and accuracy from it. It was still too much for my weenie arm, so I moved on pretty quickly. I've settled on the Pro Starfire-L for now, which seems closer to the Pro Orc than either the Champ Orc or Star Orc.
So, for me the Star was a little less stable than the Champ with a little more glide. That might help, but like I said...I really couldn't throw either one of them well and I threw the Star very briefly. I never throw a driver over 170g, so I'm sure all the ones I threw were 165-170g.
Agreed. The star orc is a little bit less stable than the champion version, with more glide. They tend to be a little domier in star plastic. Kinda like the old clear champion orcs. That's my experience at least.
I have also heard from multiple people that the star is faster out the hand as well than the champion plastic.
