Not a destination course. Way too open/short. The alternates may be longer, but it doesn't change that it's too open.

My brother is one of the frolfing Illini... I don't know if those guys are too active on trying to get a new course installed, but I know they would like to see something happen.  I can ask him to try to keep me updated.  He's hopefully going to be out at Chains of Pain on Sunday while on Thanksgiving break.

If you're going to U of I, there arent really any other options.  Best bet on weekends is to drive to Pekin or Morton, they are only an hour away.  As for Lohmann...  The marked tees arent even worth playing.  There are two sets of alternates, and the furthest back ones arent bad.  You will probably need someone to walk you around and show you, though.  The furthest back ones arent really marked.  There are also two sets of backwards tees, which are 100X better than the normal configuration.  There should be a copy of the backwards course map at the course, and there is also one on frolfingillini.com.  They have leagues on sundays at noon, I think.

How fast do you drive!?  >:D

Google puts it    93.4 mi – about 1 hour 38 mins from Champaign to McNaughton.

weird, I remember it being shorter than that.  We were probably driving 80mph the whole way anyways.  I think the limit is 60.
