Title: Unkept courses
Post by: pickax on November 22, 2007, 01:25:40 PM
How does one go about getting a park district to get off their duff and maintain their courses? This particular basket was completely out of the ground and laying down. I called the PD to about it to prevent it getting stolen and they did nothing. I even offered to drive it over to them to help them out. They declined sighting liability. How does one go about working on a relationship with the PD to keep the course maintained? I've sent email and dropped off a typed letter offering to help. No response. Some enterprising disc golfers found a creative solution to keeping the basket standing.

That has to be frustrating.  When you say "PD" are you referring to a person or an entity?  Maybe you just haven't found the right person at the PD.    Last resort is gorrila good deeds-- just replant the thing on your own or with a small group.  Good luck and...HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Is that Hole #7 at Naperville? From my, admittedly, small understanding the PD in Naperville isn't that enthusiastic about Disc Golf. Maybe if you gave Gary a call he'd let you know who was there that helped him get that 9 in the ground, maybe they're not at the PD anymore.
