Title: 2008 Tournament Schedule
Post by: Dan Michler on December 16, 2007, 02:05:38 PM
Its winter and I'm bored and my car is broken so I am dreaming about my possible 2008 tournament schedule.  I'm always interested to see what other events people travel to.  I put down all the A tiers that I am considering, but who knows if I'll actually go to them all.  I assumed some dates such at the IOS dates and Gary Lewis dates based on past years.

Feb.29-Mar.2   Las Vegas    A TIER
Mar 29-30        River Cities Rumble    A TIER
Apr 19-20        IOS#1?
May 3-4           St. Louis   A TIER
May 17-18       Milwaukee
May 24-25       IOS #2?
June 8             West Park?
June 13-15      Amateur Nationals
June 21-22      IOS#3?
July 5-6           TBD
July 12-13      Mokena?
July 19-20      Manitowalk
July 25-26      TBD
Aug 2-3         Milwaukee      A TIER
Aug 11-16     World Championships!!
rest of the year is TBD

Man with Rockford being an A tier as well as DGLO (Ann Arbor) and CCR (Lansing) over in Michigan there are a lot of big tournaments this coming year within a relatively short distance for all of us around here. Pretty sweet!

I got the 1st wknd of October marked for Springfield Illinois 10th annual capitol city classic.

I wonder what they'll have in store this time around.

I can't wait to try and conquer Lincoln Park and their new longer Pins

July 12-13      Mokena?
July 19-20      Manitowalk

These were the same wknd in 2007 but Manitowoc had pro/adv on Sat so it worked out.

Hope your car's working again by spring !  ;)

this is a good topic. I don't know for sure but I am looking to play most if not all of these events:

The Abominable Snowman (can there be a longer titled event?)
River Cities Rumble
St. Louis Open
GMO
Minnesota Majestic
USADGC
Manitowalk
Am Worlds

All the IOS events, both days if possible.
The club invitational
Capital City/Bloomington-Normal
Illinois States
Channahon
Mad City Open
Fox Valley Open
Prairie Open
The Homie
most if not all of Terry Miller's events
Wham Bam, or whatever Mike Batka is putting together.
Some of the Pin High Tour events.

But not as many events as 2006 or 2007.

We cannot schedule IOS tournament until January because most of our park districts don't want to talk about 2008 until its 2008.

I'm thinking about going to:

Bowling Green Ams
IOS 1 through 6
Big D Doubles [probably just running it, but we'll see]
Pro-Am Worlds [Maybe running the juniors or maybe playing, not sure]

Most of everything else I play will be spur of the moment.

The "Spring Opener" was just added to the PDGA tour schedule, but it's at Lemon Lake this year, not Olympia Fields.  C-tier, Sunday 4/27/08.
