Title: Happy New Years
Post by: Mukey on December 31, 2007, 12:51:49 PM
Hope everyone has a good time & safe driving tonight!
Personally I don't like "Amatuer Night", so I'll be back home BEFORE midnight to avoid all the drunks.

On a side note, I'll be going to Poor Boy's Pub in Montgomery/Oswego as they're having specials tomorrow due to Illinois going non-smoking. Probably be there around noon. Feel free to join me for the best burger in the Fox Valley area. (via Beacon News poll)

They'll have $1 mini-Burgers, $1 Chili, $1 Drafts, and $1 Salads.

Happy New Year, eight hours early.

I'm going to stay home and watch some TV with the family.  Supposed to get a big winter storm tonight.

So how do they enforce that smoking law?  Do they ticket the pub owner if he won't enforce it in his establishment?  Will they take action against his liquor license?  Anybody know?  If these smoking laws don't reduce smoking below current numbers, I would think there'd be a market for smoking blind pigs.

bruce,
I'd smoke a blind pig if i could ever keep one lit !!!!  LOL The law in Illiois will be enforced based on complaints . 3 complaints = 1 citation and then follow up visit upon further complaints  by the illlnois gestapo.

New Year's Day will be all about the ILL-INI bitches!!!  13.5 pt underdogs my ass.  They were a play away from beating Missouri and a play away from beating Iowa which would have them in the BCS title game right now.  They are no fluke.  Just run Mendynhall up the middle all day and I think we can keep this game close and maybe have a shot late to sneak out a win.  I'm so jacked for this game.  By far the biggest Illinois game I will have ever watched.

Have a good holiday and drive really drunk tonight so you don't realize how drunk the other people on the road are.

Iowa beat Illinois. Western Michigan beat Iowa. I could list a whole trail of stupid games this year, but that sums it up fairly well for me!

The same thing happened on the west coast this year with Stanford and USC, etc. so both sides of the game are very tainted in regards to "deserving" to play. Same goes for the title game. All in all the BCS and college football was far more mediocre than we have all grown accustomed to in recent years.

Outside of football though, I truly do with everyone a healthy and happy new year. With all of the illnesses, injuries and deaths in my family and my girlfriend's family in the past month I hope that 2008 starts off with something positive!

Poorboy's was awesome as always. The $1 mini-burgers don't come with fries, so my buddy & I got cheese sticks & garlic bread instead. Garlic bread was really great, I recommend it to anyone going there. It was really nice in there without all the smoke.
