One of my hopes for the 2008 season is to start carrying another line of discs. Right now I carry Innova, Discraft, Gateway, and Quest. I've had requests for Ching, but they only have 3 discs to choose from. I like DGA, but I know that Bruce already carries them and would feel like same ole same ole. I *do* like the apparel line from DGA, so I'm considering picking up DGA solely based on apparel alone. Millennium does have some popular discs especially the JLS.
I'd appreciate your votes and comments on what you'd like to see. If you voted other, please tell me what I should consider!
Before the comments come in as well, I do have full intentions to start carrying more stuff like Huksits or other accessories and not just more discs. I'm trying to figure out how to transport all of this stuff though - the van only has so much room!

I would try to sell the ones you have first if I was you.
I can't always tell when Dan is being funny. But seriously, if the disc golf thing is still running in the red and running on credit, getting it in the black and running on it's own income should be a bigger priority than carrying Millenium or or DGA.
My related goal last year was to get back to the black. I've never been running on credit but I still don't have an operating reserve. I borrow from the family economy and pay it back. I got really close to black but then had a November opportunity to spend a lot of money on discs that are not generally available at wholesale to anyone. Diana said, "You can get that? Spend a thousand. Spend two thousand." When Diana sees the opportunity and tells me to spend money, I spend money. I think I have a good plan to convert those discs to cash, so that goal is still there for 2008.
My big resolution in 2007 was to give up caffeine and sugar pop, and substitute water. My blood sugar, weight and blood pressure are all a little too high. I acheived that goal. I still drink sweetened iced tea, but only as much as I used to. The blood sugar is now excellent. My doctor was very surprised.
My big one for 2008 is to give up after dinner snacks. Weight loss and better blood pressure are the ultimate goals, but the plan is to acheive the weight loss and better blood pressure by objective, acheivable, incremental lifestyle changes.
Actually disc golf sales are (for the most part) treating me well. It's the baseball cards side of life that is making it look bad :-P
I do have a specific strategy in mind, and I'm not saying that this resolution needs to be fulfilled in January - but maybe something I do by the end of the year. It would be awesome if I was ready before July since July and August were my 2 best months last year, but I'm perfectly ok if that's not the case.
Congrats on meeting your 2007 resolution. Do you add splenda to your iced tea? My dad did the same thing - he also had to reduce his blood sugars. I forget how much weight he lost, something like 50+ pounds just by dumping his sugars, eating well, and also drinking a nutrition shake that a dietician recommended.
My thought right now for '08 is to carry more apparel than incoming discs - I think a lot of people are getting "disc'd" out.
I voted millenium. I read about a lot of people throwing the Orion LF and LS with a lot of success. They are supposedly the best high-speed drivers with (relatively) narrow rims. I also used to throw a JLS, which was a really consistent fairway driver. I also think the Sentenel is a way under-rated midrange.

I think that's a good idea Scott. Disc related apparel makes sense to me. With an 808 rating I know its really much more about the throw than the thing thrown. Apart from my Champion Roc I am pretty flexible about what I will throw. We all need a a handful of drivers, midranges and approach discs in varying levels of stability in a weight appropriate to our skill and body type. There are plenty of ways to meet that need. I yearn for days when it will really matter. Let me know if you ever pick up a disc golf tie. I always thought that would be a cool item to have. 8)
How are those Roger Clemens cards moving these days? ;D

lol, I *did* list a Roger Clemens card the other week, and boy was that a mistake. Before the Mitchell Report came out, the same card sold for about $20-$25. My went for just under $10. whoops. lol.
I don't know how soon the disc golf necktie would make it into my inventory, but I'll keep it in mind :)
I know it took me forever to sell the DGA discs I bought, I think I ordered the minimum 25 and 1.5 years later I finally sold the last of them last week on ebay. I ended up taking a loss & I sold them for $5 to just get rid of them. I picked up Rogues, Tsunami's, Riptides, Reefs, Squall's & a couple of Titanics. According to my rep, the Blowfly's & Blunts sell better than the Proline stuff.
I contacted Jay at Huk Lab before the Am Open & I tried to get set up as a dealer & he told me he wasn't accepting any more dealer applications, but if you can do it, I would.
Jason
DGA is slow moving. The Rogue sells fine. The Blowfly sells fine. The Tsunami sells some.
You won't take a loss on DGA if you just wait for it to sell, but in a brick and mortar operation, it cannot make a good argument for the shelf space it occupies. In a pack-the-van operation, you only want to pack so much.
Jay is very concerned about geographical proximity of his dealers and competition/saturation of his chairs. Don't be shocked if he tells you no.
If he tells you No, then I'd cut out the middleman and see if you can be a distributor for camptime. You'd probably be able to sell them for less and make a better profit.
This is a little off topic, but did you guys receive a letter from Discraft on the price increase?
Jason
Re: Discraft Price Increase
I got the letter. I sent an e-mail that day to Erich asking for a clarification of one point, telling him I'd put in an order if he called me with an answer. He didn't call.
