Post by: Tom McManus on January 29, 2008, 05:35:40 AM
What do Kenny Glassman, Bruce Brakel, and Steve Mullens have in common?

I'm guessing that a similar question from my own end could be asked here. What do my first PDGA rating and my current rating have in common?

I'm tied for the position of highest rated Intermediate in the World!  Woo-hoo!   ;D

I have an intermediate rating and I'm not afraid to use it.

went up one point to 916, slowly making my way. I figure when I'm 80 I'll be high enough to play pro. haha

Aww, McManus you almost caught me this time.   I still have 3 points on you though buddy.  I'm sure you'll pass me up next year though so I'll have to enjoy it while it lasts.  Nice shooting last year!

I went up three points, but it keeps me at 934 so until April, I can play both days! Yeah baby!

I am a 914
I was responding to Tom's original question when I piped in with "934"

Hey, isn't 914 one under the Mendoza line?
Is there a disc golf equivalent for "Mendoza Line"

Please, not the Bassett line....

According to Barish, the Mendoza line is more like 800.

In baseball the Mendoza line was the worst batting average you could have and stay in the majors if you were an excellent fielder who could play multiple positions.  I suppose in disc golf the Mendoza line would be the worst rating you can have and still play on the match play disc golf team if you drive, pay for gas, and share your expensive beer.   ;D

Steve,

I am pretty sure 711 is a store and not a rating.

ok, well, for Steve, that's his (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/playerstats.php?PDGANum=31168) mendoza line. 800 is the mendoza line that I try to stay over - then my rating actually counts in calculating other player's ratings.  If I'd stop running tournaments and start playing in some maybe I can keep my rating going up :)
