We always have a first time players rules discussion before the tournaments starts. We are running these events to educate new players and promote the game of disc golf. We run excellent tournaments for Amateur players of all skill levels. We had some of the largest Advanced, Intermediate, & Recreational divisions in the state as well as female participation.

The lunch break will end 1 hour from the last card being turned in. Don't be late. We will get started on time.
The awards ceremony will start as soon as possible.
A minimum of 100% payout to all divisions.
We usually throw in 2nd round CTP's if the event has average to above average attendance.
We know many of you travel & have a life outside of disc golf. We will do our best to get you on the road as early as possible.
____________________________________________________________________
TROPHY ONLYWhat is trophy only? You may pay the trophy only entry fee and play the event. You are playing for a trophy only. If you finish in a position that is awarded a trophy you get the trophy. You do not get a payout if you finish in a prize/cash finishing position.
Why play trophy only? You may play trophy only for several reasons.
1. Tired of not having a chance to finish in a cashing spot at events? Save a few bucks and play trophy only.
2. Want to test the field and move up a division without paying the full fee? Save a few bucks and play trophy only.
3. Want to try to hit an ace when the ace pool rolls over & it's $750.00? Play both days in a division you wouldn't normally play.
Do I get a player pack when I play trophy only?If you are playing in an amateur division you get a player pack. If you are playing in a pro division you do not get a player pack.
Along with the player pack you also get a chance to shoot for any CTP on the course.
Can I win CTP's?Yes, you can participate in all the CTP's that are offered to your division.
What is Half In?"Half-in is for the pro divisions only and it works like this: You can pay approximately half the entry fee. If you cash you'll get only half of what was posted for your cashing spot. The other half is paid up to the highest cashing place that got in for full. Usually that will be first place. If two half-ins cash, their halves will be paid to the two highest cashing full fee players. There are complicated rules for less likely scenarios but it comes down to a couple of simple ideas: the money never goes below the cash line -- if you're out of the cash, nothing is bumping down and you can go home. The half-ins never collect more than half unless absolute weirdness occurs and every cashing player is half-in. All of the cash gets paid out, except the deduction for the PDGA fee."
___________________________________________________________________
SERIES POINTSThis series is set up for fun and competition. Overall champions win a trophy and bragging rights. If you play any day of the 2008 Illinois Open Series you are automatically entered into the series. It costs no extra fee to enter the series. There will be no deductions from tournament payouts to pay for overall series champion trophies. See trophy payouts below.
Points only count in the division in which they are earned. For example, if Bruce plays Advanced at the first event and receives 12 points then plays advanced masters at the next event and earns 12 points, he does not have a total of 24 points. He would have 12 points in advanced and 12 points in advanced masters.
Participants will be awarded one point for each tournament entered and one point for each player they beat in their division.
A player who DNFs (Does Not Finish), will receive 0 (zero) points for that tournament.
Overall points will be calculated from best 4 of 6 events. IOS #5 @ Rockford, IL is worth double points.
Any ties for first place at the end of the series will result in a sudden death playoff at IOS #6 @ Round Lake, IL. A player who is tied for first but is not present automatically loses the playoff.

SERIES ACE POOLAce Pool is open all day.
Multiple aces are split.
All ace pools that are not hit will rollover to the next day or event.
We may cap the ace as it grows during the year.
If there is money remaining at the end of the series that money will be rolled over to 2009.

BRASS CASHBrass Cash is brass funny money. EXPIRES 12/31/08
Brass Cash is handed out at events to amateur players as their player pack.
Brass Cash is used to payout all amateur division winnings.
Brass cash is used to purchase any item from the merchandise table.
Brass Cash may be spent that day or saved to spend at any other Illinois Open Series event.
If there is merchandise that you want but is not on the table, talk to Bruce Brakel and he will try to accommodate your disc golf addiction. Bruce can get pretty much anything you would want. You can arrange to pick it up at the next event. We want you to walk away from our events with merchandise you want.
____________________________________________________________________
PAYOUTSPDGA charts will be followed for payouts to all divisions.
Brass Cash is paid out to all amateur divisions except Juniors. Juniors get a
$15.00 player pack and play for a trophy only.
All Pro's play for cash.
Payout Policy: Cash and prizes, including CTPs, not claimed during the awards
ceremony are donated to the tournament process, unless other arrangements have been made with the TD that day.
Event trophies are hand made or dyed trophy discs. They are quite simplistic and represent what place you finish if you win one. This is done to keep the payouts fatter instead of purchasing more expensive trophies that are just as lame and weaken the payouts.
At every tournament there is a Discraft CTP on hole #1. You must throw a Discraft disc to win this CTP.

HISTORY OF THE IOSThe series started in 2003 as a single event. The event was held at Fairfield Park in Round Lake on August 10, 2003. 95 players attended this one day event. http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_...urnID=3641#Open (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=3641#Open)
Approximately 15 players had to be turned away. We then realized that PDGA events are in high demand in this area.

2008 is going to be a great year!!!!! Do you have what it takes to win the Illinois Open Series?
2008 is a GREAT opportunity to start earning points to get invited to the 2009 Am/Pro Worlds in Kansas City, MO. This is a must play for anyone living in the Midwest. We are running all Am B-Tiers so you can accumulate a lot of points so you get your invite. If you are not a PDGA member you better join if you want to play Am Worlds in 2008.
ROCKFORD will be a 2 day A-Tier this year. There will be $1700 minimum added cash to the MPO in 2008. It will also be a USDGC (www.usdgc.com) qualifier for the best finishing Illinois player in the MPO division. For more information on this contact Brett Comincioli -> president@discontinuum.org Rockford will also be one of the first qualifiers for 2009 Am Nationals. Check www.amnationals.com for more details.

The entry fee section will need to be updated. I'll work with what you have and propose something new.
at the top it says open and int on sat but in the middle with the entry fees it says open and adv on saturday.
Exactly. That's why I mentioned we needed to work on that section. Basically what we do is start with last year's text and work in the changes.
The black on blue text is really hard to read, but it says that not everything has been updated yet. We should make everything that hasn't been updated black on blue so that nobody can read it without highlighting it.
the dates on Round Lake aren't right. the 20th-21st is a Mon-Tues. I'm presuming it's supposed to be 18-19th?
krupicka - using firefox? I am & all the colored/highlighted text looks like crap.
Yes, I'm using firefox. Popping it up in Internet Explorer... it's readable, albeit fuzzy.
yeah that's the 'glow' effect... :-\
I WILL BE UPDATING THIS OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. ALL THE INFORMATION ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT UNTIL THIS IS REMOVED. THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION THAT IS INCORRECT.

all of the above websites take me to the 2007 information?? Yes....I'm new and Polish ;), so if someone could point me in the right direction to pre-register I would appreciate it!
Ummmm, almost just said go to the Club Store, but I checked 1st and it's still got '07 on there also. You could always send a check in via snail mail.....
The information has not yet been updated for 2008 season.

brasscash will be updated very soon.
As will the club store. Hopefully tonight prereg for IOS1 will be online. Its been a very busy end of winter/early spring!
I was looking on Brasscash.com for your sponsorship info stuff? If you have one, can you email it to greaterpeoriaopen@gmail.com
Thanks,
Dana
Pre-reg for 2008 IOS #1 is available!!! I pre-regged Becky and it worked fine. Got the e-mail with her registration info and all. Prices are correct and days are correct.
Go to http://store.discontinuum.org/index.php to pre-reg online. You'll save a couple of dollars over the day of registration price. If you want to save the whole $5 then send a check or money order to the address at brasscash.com. Brasscash.com will be updated very soon. If you see 2007 pricing info there, don't use it!
Thanks Mirth!!!
www.brasscash.com is live with 2008 info. Let the corrections begin!!! O0

The only way I'm going to be able to hold the line on Innova prices is if we custom stamp most of the Innova, but their deals are not so sweet as to make a big dent in prices and do player pack deals. Innova does about 10% free stuff now which is like 1 brass off my current exhorbitant prices if we were to apply it that way, while Discraft is doing like 30% free stuff, depending on how good you are at playing the free stuff game. Still, we'd like to thank Innova for making baby steps in the right direction.
And I think we'll change the "Throw Discraft CTP" to the "Innova vs Discraft CTP". The losing company will pay for the prize out of their sponsorship value!

Strange. Now I feel some kind of a connection with a dude on an Isreali beach just because he's throwing a disc with the logo that I made for the tournament I help run.
I wonder if that's the dude that bought some discs from me... I know I've sold some to a guy in Israel. I'd have to look up the order. wEiRd :)
LOL, it WAS me! lol now that's funny. I had a customer back in June '07 buy a bunch of discs, including 2 green ESP Pulse with IOS stamp. The guy on the video is not the guy that bought the disc from me, the purchase was for a couple guys.
maybe they'll come out here for a tournament sometime :)
FWIW, the other disc is a dx skeeter - and he's making me feel bad on how hard it is to remove those barcodes - especially on DX plastic. The other price tags I use I've already upgraded to using labels that are made with a more removable substance (and the latest and greatest stickers won't have the printing agitated when you remove the tags), but I have sooo many blank sticker sheets for bar codes that I don't want to upgrade to the removeable stickers for those just yet!
Thanks for finding that video Brett!

In my opinion this years IOS division/day set up is pretty bad. For one a good amount of advanced and open players are friends and travel together. Next I think it sucks for the advanced players because they can not compare scores to the open players to gauge progress and make a decision to move up and give open a try. Also you see a lot of pro masters playing open because of a small pro master field and because the open div. plays Sat. it makes the pro masters make a gamble of playing Sat in open or waiting for Sunday and possibly having a very small field to compete with. I know the reason for the this is to get players to play both days but with gas prices and other expenses its unrealistic. I think after this year with poor feedback from the players hopefully it will be back to normal but I guess we still have to put up with it for this season. However I am looking forward to the backups caused by the MA2 and MA4 divisions
MA2 this year is what last year was Advanced. MA1 (Advanced) this year will be a very small division unless a lot of players play up. This year's split was not to accommodate players playing both days so much as having enough room for all the players to play either day. We are assuming that players will play in their divisions pretty much as their ratings dictate which means that most players that played Advanced last year should be playing MA2 this year.
I have not really formed a stance yet. I want to see how this is going to play out. We'll see if speed of play is a problem. The numbers were estimated using the past few seasons at the IOS. According to those numbers the Adv/Pro day would have been filled to the max and turning away players while the Int/Rec day would have had plenty of room. If players stick to the division their rating allows this should work.
The thing I do like about the schedule now is flexibility. Basically only the Open-MPO are limited to playing on Saturday. If you can't play one day you can chose to play another. If you show up on the wrong day there will be a division to play in. Many players have the option of playing both days now with that change of 935 for Advanced. You'll see lots of former Advanced players playing both Intermediate and Advanced. This might actually help you & I Tom. The Advanced guys may play Saturday in Open then come back Sunday.
This discussion brings up a question I have. with me playing MA1 this year and my 6 yr old playing juniors, how can I work it out so that both of us can play as our divisions have both of us playing on Sunday? Since I know I need to walk with him in order to keep him playing by the rules and so that if he decides he doesn't want to finish and all.

That is where the flexibiltiy works to your advantage. Having a rating under 935 allows you to play Saturday in MA2 Intermediate or MPO Open and walk with your son on Sunday. If you really want to play MA1 Advanced you could always bring your son out Saturday and play in the MA4 Novice. Those options might not ideal but they are options.

Tom - What if the breakdown was the same way but Open played on Sundays? Would you feel differently? Personally I like the way the divisions are split, it gives many people the opportunity to play both days. It wouldn't make a difference to me if it was the same split but the days were reversed.
The main reason we switched Adv/Pro a few years ago to Saturday was the constant conflicts with other events. At the time very few events had Adv/Pro playing Saturday.
I've grown to love playing on Saturday for the IOS. Bruce, Jon, and I get the work done really fast on Sunday and try to wrap up as many issues at possible. Myself and others can start breaking down the temp holes immediately. It's not dark at the park when I leave ;D.

I didn't check your rating, but assuming Brett is correct that you are an Am 2, and assuming it is essential that you play up a division, walk with your kid while he plays Am 4, the other day. Or, just do the right thing and do whatever you have to do so that your kid can play juniors with other kids.

Understood, however, my rating will be going up over the 935 mark at the next rating release. Coupled with the fact I would like to try to compete for the ADV overall points race this year, I was wondering if it would be possible that I could play my round with him on Sunday.
That would be going farther with the PDGA format than we can go.
Why not dreambag with me in Open, 1/2-In? There's no glory in winning IOS Season Points for Advanced. With the way you've been playing, you'll be taking prizes in Open and staying Am, or taking cash and going pro.
One thing that is done for the IOS tourneys is try to make sure that players that are not PDGA members play in the correct divisions. This is done by calculating ratings based off local tournaments for the last few years. With the new divisional ratings breaks, players may not know what divisions they are eligible for. If you (or a friend) are not a PDGA member and would like to know what division you are eligible for when playing in an IOS tournament, please send me a PM and I will let you know what division we have calculated. Remember Intermediate(MA2) and Novice(MA4) play on Saturday. All other Amateur divisions play on Sunday.
I will NOT reveal actual ratings as that is a benefit of PDGA membership. If you would like to have an official rating and not pay the $10/tourney PDGA non-member fee, join the PDGA.
Mike, could you send me the list?
I went through Pitner's winter tournaments. These guys should think about moving up to Am 3 Recreational:
Jason Riley Jonathan Boster Joe Dathe James Saudon Nick Fax
I have not seen the list so I don't know if you have to or if you just ought to. You won't be Am 4 eligible for long, if you are now.
The rest of the players playing Pitner's winter series look fine to me. Whenever Am 2, 3 and 4 are being won by PDGA members, there isn't much of a sandbagging issue.
Using officially rated rounds Jason Riley, Joe Dathe, and Jonathan Boster have to play Am3
Not that my opinion matters a great deal but with the division splits my friends and I will be playing very few IOS events this year.
Last year I brought the IOS about 15 registrations between myself, my brothers, and our friends (3-4 events, 4-5 guys).
We are not very good disc golfers. After a few years of talking trash to each other every weekend we wanted to see who really was the best. So we started doing the tournaments last year to gauge our skills against strangers but more importantly amongst ourselves. I guess apart of what kept us coming back was the dream of winning some brass cash or taking home a trophy but after the first event we really only cared how we placed within our group of friends.
Two of our "regular" players have advanced to AM3 while the rest of our "regulars" are still AM4. We car pool and sometimes even help each other out with entrance fees.
We are all bummed out that the divisions are split. Some guys don't take it very serious and asking them to drive an hour to play without their friends is just too much for them.
Unfortunately it looks like we will be skipping the IOS events for other events like "Don't get fooled 2".
Its not that we dislike the IOS it's just not very practical for true Novice/Rec/Enthusiast players.
If you want to play on the same day and keep comparing scores, have you and your friends play AM3 with the AM4 guys playing trophy only AM3.
If they don't really take it serious, then why can't everybody just play Am3? Then you can all come on the same day and all compete against each other.
modify: i see krupicka just beat me to that post. i guess it does make sense then :)
They don't take their disc golf career that serious but they also don't like getting embarrassed.
Paying to get beat by 15+ strokes is not a fun relaxing day for anyone.
Instead of going to tournaments I imagine we will meet at a course and have our own private tourney.
My friends would rather buy a new disc, a couple of drinks, and lunch than dump their $25 into trophy only.
With several tournaments every month, we will play together or not in a tournament.
Just to keep the facts straight: Trophy only is $15 pre-reg / $20 day of. For that you get $15-$20 at the merch table, plus chance at CTPs, play in an organized competitive environment, etc.
Thats going to be your loss then brother, cuz right now it says the weather is to be in the 60s and sunny for IOS 1. I think there should be alot of players there having a good time, regardless of people's player ratings.
Unless you have formed a pact to suck forever, eventually some of you would be playing on a different day from the rest of you, no matter how we split the divisions. And if Pitner keeps running good tournaments, eventually he'll be running split-days, so just do whatever works for you for now. We're hoping what we're doing will work for players who want to play their ratings appropriate division one day and play against better players the other day. It also works to divide our field in half, if players play their ratings indicated divisions. Most other splits were dividing the field 60-40 or 65-35.
Everybody wants the setup to be perfect for their situation.
Luckily I feel it is perfect for me this year so I won't complain ;D
Few things...can the moderator please PM me and explain why my last post was deleted?
Next, I completely agree that missing the IOS tourneys is my loss. I wish my group of friends were more flexible. I will still play some IOS events, I just wont be bringing a group of 5 guys with me. That's less income for the IOS and I thought the leaders of your organization might want to know where that money went.
In regards to having a "pack to suck", we don't want to be pro disc golfers. In many ways we laugh at the guys that are way too into disc golf. We go out to have fun. That's it. We tried playing tournaments to increase our level of fun.
I didn't realize that providing you with feedback about your product would result the deletions of my posts or in aggressive posts against my viewpoint. I did not bash the IOS. Next time I'll keep my opinion to myself and just spend my money in other places.
I also think the splits of the division is kind of weird, but we have to go with what is scheduled. I took 1st at the Irish tourny in MA4, and for IOS1 I am going to play MA3, as I think my ratings will require me to play that after the update. Also it works out well for me because I can ride with some of my friends who play MA1.
There have been some random posts disappearing. You might have fallen victim to this.

Missing the IOS because of your friends sucks. I used to do that, but my desire to play got the better of me. Come on out & make new friends at the IOS series that DO play tournaments, problem solved.
You've always got to take what Bruce says with a grain of salt, or maybe a block. All he was trying to say with the "Pact to Suck" is that one or two people in your group will be better than the others & end up beating everyone very often. Enough of that & they won't want to play with the better golfer & the better golfer will want to play against people of similar skill level. no one likes to play Doom on God mode for long, eh?
As far as agressive posts against your viewpoint, this is the Internet, right? ;D

I think people hit "Preview" and forget to hit "Post." I do that all the time. If your name is not Kevin Tomasitus, I've never deleted your post. If your name is Kevin Tomasitis, you might want to post anonymously. ;)
I think people get offended at my posts when they fail to read the conditional as a conditional. "Unless" is a conditional. You could read that statement, "If you have all made a pact to suck, you will all always be in the lowest division together, and you will never have a scheduling problem at tournaments that are popular enough that some divisions play one day and some play another day. If you have not made a pact to suck, some of you are going to get better faster than others and at popular tournaments you'll be playing on different days." But that was wordy and the other was was succinct.
If you all want to always play on the same day, there are plenty of TDs that suck and don't draw enough players to fill one day. Pitner is not one of them, so I doubt his tournaments will be one-day events indefinately.
This post is not intended at any one person.
There is one thing I learned very quickly when it came to disc golf. Nothing you do will or can please everyone in disc golf.
The IOS crew has tried to provide a series of events for people to play. We are willing to take some gambles and offer new ideas. Some have worked, others have not. All but 1 of the courses we've run sanctioned events at had one prior to the IOS being there. Round Lake, Crystal Lake. Streamwood, Lombard, Rockford, and Aurora. Prior to the IOS the closest sanctioned events were Milwaukee and Joliet. Disc golf has come a long ways in a short amount of time.
We run these events for fun. We don't care if money is made or not. If we were in this game for the $ we'd have quit a long time ago.
I think the frequency distortion on the chatter has been increasing a bit recently but the message board still works. A new idea is being tried this year. I know that you know how to sift through the emotion and nonesense to see that there are real ideas being put on the table from a lot of different quarters. There is a rationale for the new format idea- more equitable distribution of numbers. There are some concerns. This is a good place to air them out. It will be especially interesting to see what everybody has to say about things when both Kenosha and Lombard in in the books. How did it work? We will wait and see. How even were the numbers? How many showed up each day? How many players were so peeved they took their toys home and didn't come out to play? Time will tell. I understand the desire to play with your friends and to have your usual car pools. I expect the new format will impact me ride-wise. In a perfect worlds the upper/lower division makes sense as everybody is playing with players like themselves. That being said, I often felt like I was playing in the disc golf ghetto on lower day. Saturdays will be especially schizo with open, AM2 and Am 4. None of us really play a game similar to the other. There seems to be more chance of cohesion on Sunday. I think it will be cool for me as an AM 4 to be on the course with the pros. I doubt they will feel the same. My kind will just slow them down.
To me the upshot is nobody, myself included, likes change. We are all comfortable with what we know. If it works, this will be what we know and we will get comfortable. If not, I am sure the changes will be changed, modified or adapted. Brett, I think it goes beyond disc golf. Any time you have a big change in format for anything some folks are gonna be thrilled and some are gonna be, well you know...unthrilled. Most importantly, I think most of us feel that your intentions are pure. Lets see how it works...

heh, I have 4 tournaments that will be on the schedule in 2008 that will require splitting. 3 are 2-days, the other is April 26th at Highland Park. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to split the two courses since I max at 55 at each one. It's probably going to be Pro(Open, Masters, etc)/Am1/Am2 at one course and Am3/Am4/Other at the other course, but it's the Other that I'm concerned about mainly. The higher divisions are going to play a round of regular tees and a round of alternate tees at each course, the lower divisions will play 2 rounds of regular tees at each course. What about Adv Master, etc? Where do they play? How to split things is not an easy answer!
there's definitely going to be some growing pains with the split day tournaments.
Things change. That's life. If you weren't going to go to the IOS because you couldn't travel with your set of people that you traveled with last year, then you weren't going to be attending IOS tourneys for long anyway. People move away, get married, have kids, tear muscles, whatever. If you want to play good tournaments, then come on out.
We don't know how the divisional split will play out. We tried to split divisions so that we can accommodate as many players as possible. We observed many rounds last year to base this year's projections on. AMIV players play just as quickly as Open players. When Open players get to the back up hole (there's always one, you know?) and there are AMIV players ahead of them, you know who they will blame...ME!!! ;D
Anyway, I hope you come out...we'll miss you if you're not there. (that didn't sound gay, did it?)
...not that there's anything wrong with that...
I've played with alot of slow players over the years and none of them were Novices. I've also been at many of the intermediate and Rec days for IOS events and the rounds took the same or less time from the same tees than it did for Adv/Pro. On a Highbridge type course the Rec players would take forever, but not at IOS type courses.
I basically just said the same thing Jon did, but I think it means that much more coming from me
18B at Kenosha last year - that's the type of hole that a nov (eg. ME) would make for a more likely backup candidate. However, that hole is always going to have some sort of backup because it's just a tough hole and people are going to go OB. I went OB on it twice in the second round. I think I took a 7 or something stupid like that. The rest of the holes a lot of the NOV players can drive close to the distance to the basket, but we just need to lay up for a (hopeful) drop in putt or just take an extra putt because we missed... again.
Going back on the subject of a deleted post, I (as the official webmaster of the club site & message board) have never removed a post or thread without the affected party or parties knowing about it. Unfortunately the message board software doesn't allow for logging of moderator actions so I can't answer the base question. 1) Correct. We wanted to promote the half-in option and didn't want to add another 8 price points so we dropped trophy only for Pro divisions.
2) Correct. There is a $5 discount if you pre-reg.

I am a bit confused Innovawise. Is there a Throw Innova deal? If so, I'm in. Like a dope, I left my 168 Sidewinder in a public park. I had been throwing 15-20 discs and then going to pick them all up. It started to rain pretty hard and I scooped them up and went to the car. The next day I realized the Sidewinder was missing. It was always one of the 2 farthest throws. I gotta replace it.. If there is no such deal, I will just use my brass to buy one anyway.
Dave not to try and take business from the IOS but I have a lightly used 167 blue star sidewinder I'd be able to part with.
No problem. We're all for players selling their stuff to player who need their stuff. Taylor, I've got a couple of Red Wings ESP Buzzzes I'm bringing.
I've never had small amounts of innova sponsorship to apply to the process before, so I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it. Another thought I'm having is I could put a fair brass price on all the Innova stuff I've dyed, because i have some Chiefs and Cubs and Vaders that have turned out well, and then write those discs down to ordinary retail undyed.
A lot of the Vaders are bottom dyed Forces:

That dye is sick Bruce, keep up the good work. >:D
I've tried doing some bottom dyed Sox but I'm getting messed up by the injection nipple. On the Vader, the nipple is in an unmasked area, so it is not messing with the mask. I'll have seven or eight of these. For Am 2s who are dreambagging in Am 1, and Am 4s who are dreambagging in Am 3, they probably will be all gone by Sunday. Of course, I can always do special requests and bag things up in lay away.

I really don't think a PDGA number is good enough. Some random guy found my disc and called my house. He is putting my sidewinder under his car on his driveway and I am going to pick it up tonight.
IOS Friends,
Attached is a copy of the 2008 Flyer. You must register a user name and login to view attachments. Please make a few copies and take to your local league. Please hang one up at your local course(s). Place the flyer in a baggie and it will last a long time. This is your chance to get involved. It may seem simple but it gets the information to the people that play disc golf.
Thank you for the help!

Bruce-if you can send me pics of the tournament specific discs, I can use those for the pics. For now I'm using one of Maddisen and I doing registration...corny but at least newbies will know they are in the right place!!
Yeah, if there is anything you want me to edit on there, let me know and I'll change it for you.
If I pre-register and am unable to make IOS#1, my entry $ can be bumped to IOS#2? What is the latest that I could 'bail' and still have my money bump to a future IOS?
Thanks! Looking forward to another great IOS this year.

Dana,
If you contact of post here Friday night there is not a problem. Thank you for communicating. I wish all players did this.

Bruce - can you lay away a cubs destroyer for me, pretty please?
It is only Tuesday. I could make one special! ;D
What are the conditions of the course for this weekends IOS #1? I'm making my first trip to WI this weekend (and first time to a IOS event.) I'm looking forward to pretty much everything except the 4.5hour drive (plus the Chicago slowdown.)
This will be the second stop on my Mid-West Rec Tour 08. I've included your IOS Series to add IL & WI to a list of 5 other states. A couple dozen PDGA sactioned events this year in an attempt to bring this rec player (852 based on 9 rated rounds) to Kansas City Worlds next year.
Cmon Weekend!

The weather report is for cloudy skies with a chance of a passing shower on Saturday. The course should be drying up with the warm, windy weather this week. I would expect it to be playably moist.

Okay then! Either this (http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:flX3dpqF-p4J:http://sean.keener.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/cubs-logo.JPG) or this (http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:e6NiNMIoFWAJ:www.scsmabl.com/forum/uploads/20071212_092536_Cubs_Logo.jpg) would be great.
I got the Blackberry going as a modem for my laptop. I'm posting from it right now. I should be able to do posting from the course or on the road for the rest of the season. I tried to get this going at the course this past weekend but Verizon wanted me to download VZAccessManager again and reload which I couldn't do since I didn't have a connection!
