Where would be a good place to get a hotel around all the courses? I am thinking of Pekin.
LaQuinta in Morton.
It's really easy to get to all of those courses from Morton. It is fairly quick to get to all of those courses from Morton except for Bradley. You won't find a motel that is convenient for all of them because Bradley is on the other side of the river. Taken from someone who has gone down there for the last few years for a three day tournament (not that they'd let me play!), the best compromise is to stay in Morton.
I'd 3rd the Morton location. You've got a few close places for quick eats right there and the Morton course is right down the road.
P.S. My brother & I stayed in Pekin last year when we made a trip to Peoria, Sonic was close but that was about it. Just my $0.02.
... and for Mukey, the food must not only be quick, but constant.... 8)
I've seen everything Mukey eats, unfortunately I saw it all after it had been eaten.... :icon_puke_r:

Actually, he only saw the nasty chesse ravioli I got from Avanti's in Bloomington when we went to the Capitol City Challenge & Homie (same weekend) in '06. Really his car took the brunt of the hit, but I managed to get a window open & gave him car wash $ along with gas $ for the weekend. Since then I've been keeping everything "inside the box" ;D
I'm going to see about getting a discount rate at the La Quinta in Morton or somewhere around there...Also, if you contact the Pekin Park District you can camp there. I will call and confirm this.
I have sent all the info to PDGAsignup.com, so hopefully online registration will be up soon!

"Oldman" Wallis let me camp in his back yard in 2006 for the Lesser Peoria open. He's right next to Bradley Park. Might be an option, but you'll have to contact him yourself. You can reach him through the PFC website.
Dana, thanks for getting the e-amil out for me so the WIU DGC can pay the entry fees for Hamilton and I.
We made a reservation at the Concord Inn that is in Pekin. My suitemates told me to go there b/c they live in pekin. The hotel is going to have a live band on friday and saturday night.
Not a problem! Looking forward to it.
Once online registration is available, I suggest you pre register! This tournament will fill...
Sponsors are starting to roll in!
Wilbur Wallis has purchased the first t-sign and huklab is also on board!
I tried getting ahold of the manager at La Quinta in Morton today but didn't have any luck. Looks like I have an excuse to get over to Morton now ;D

What's the player pack for people who register after the 100th?
an alt. player pack of equal value
I'm hoping that we'll have 44 pros and won't have to worry about 'alt. player packs'
Oh ya, for those worried- a porta pottie will be out at McNaughton Park from Friday the 27 until July 2
dana, will there be huk patches there?
No, the first 100 registered AM's will recieve a huk sticker though!
I'm working the night of the 28th so I won't be able to attend :( Darn :'( :'(

Eamon Patricks is hosting a player party/dinner on Saturday.
There will be a reduced cost (5ish $) BUFFET. Jim Fahey, a local disc golfer is the owner. They supplied food for our Iron Man tournament and man was it good. I'll post directions soon, they will also be in the player handouts.
Pre tourney doubles/check in will be at Bradley 6:00.
BTW, for you drinkers- Patrick Eamans is open till 4am on the weekends!
This is gonna be fun.
When does pre-reg end?
You can register up until the Friday the 27th. We are going to have doubles at Bradley at 6:00.
I'll have to look and see when the online reg is closing...
Things are getting good. I've had some guys step up and really work hard to make this a memorable event. Dustin Fee is rockin it as well as Tim Wright.
If you would like to make a donation, we still have t-sign sponsorships available for 25$.
Remember, this is an E.D.G.E. event so 1 dollar from your entry fee will be going towards getting EDGE going in a Peoria Area school (Bartonville?). We are also accepting cash donations for that and raffle prizes.
McNaughton has seen some storm damage and we may have a tree coming down on hole 4. The Monday night league (Fee, Yemm, G$, Brian Wagler, Jordan Merriman) has been doing course cleanups at McNaughton and Morton. Thist past week they did some major branch cleanup at McNaughton. Thank them when you see them.
Only a few more days! Last chance to register will be at the pre tourney doubles at Bradley on Friday at 6:00pm
check www.pdga.com tourdates section for a list of those registered.
If you've never been down to Peoria or haven't in a long time this is a great time to do it! Great courses and relatively close.
http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7941
I really want to go - need to see if I can afford expenses for the weekend! I've never seen the courses, sounds tough yet exciting :)
Morton and Pekin are both very fun courses. Among the most fun in the midwest in my opinion. Wish it was any other weekend so I could go down to Peoria and hack around. Moving into a townhome in Round Lake Beach this weekend though. I wish Dana the best of luck with the event.
For anyone who is going to Peoria this weekend this will help you out a lot.
I went to all the courses and put them in the gps.
Here are the locations to put in the GPS for the weekend
McNaughton Park
2075 Edgewater Dr.
North Pekin, IL 61554
The location is PLanet X Skate rink which is a few miles down the road.
Laura Bradley Park
W farmington Rd
Peoria, IL 61604
Illinois Central College
1 college Dr.
East Peoria, IL 61611
Oakwood Park
Morton, IL 61550
These places are either the park or right next to it.
I wish I could make it down for this one. I have to pick up Diana and the girls at the airport at 7:00 so I gotta keep it local. I'm going to play the Holly tournament Saturday and the Temperance tournament Sunday.

For Bradley use 1321 North Park Road, West Peoria, Illinois 61604. This is the Sky Harbor Steak House and it is right across from the park entrance. If the GPS doesn't recognize West Peoria, drop the West.

Is the Temprece tourny worth the trip from northern IL. I dont think i can make the 2 day Peoria tourny but would like to play a tourny on Sunday. Im guessing 3 hour drive from Great America like all Michigan tournies.

You're going to be looking closer to 5 hours for Temperance.

It's a three hour drive from Gurnee if you average 96 miles per hour. 2 hour drive if you keep it right on 145 mph. If I thought the tournament was worth the drive, I'd have started a thread. I'm not sure if it is worth the hour fifteen minute drive from Waterford.
Online registration closes tonight.
If you need to register after that, please contact me.
I had a nice wakeup call at 6'something this morning asking about registering.

That happened to me for Crystal Lake. The only day of the week that I could sleep in a little was Friday. I was going to sleep until 7:30am instead of 5:45am. Butt Head calls me at 6:40am! It woke me up but I didn't answer. Lucky for him Becky listened to the call and called him back before I could notate his name...if I had known it he would have been starting on hole 14 all weekend! ;D
Back when I used to run tournaments there was always a 2 a.m. caller, "Izhair a toornamint tamorrow? Wherezhit? How ya get there?"

you'd think that it was me that made the phone call - I started at 21 both rounds on Saturday... I think that walk is worse than going to 14!
Looks like it was well attended and successful. So who won? How did the message board posters fare? We'll probably see scores on PDGA.com tonight.

Chris Sprague won. I think Brett and Todd tied for fourth. Dave Nelson came in second in advanced. Brett shot solid all weekend long. Long tees at McNaughton make for a long day.
I came in 11 in Intermediate.
Dan Pastore won Pro Masters
Barrett won Open Women's.
It was a good time and well run. Peoria has a large number of volunteers. Dana did a great job with the event.
Brian Wagler won the ace fund by sinking the CTP, as no aces were hit during the event. Four fun very different courses.
Again a great job by Dana. Looking forward to going back to this event. Brett got the word out for Rockford.
wish I could have been there - I hope the Paper or Plastic Sports discs turned out ok :) I didn't even see them - they went straight to Dana!
Thanks for the report Tom :)
What a long weekend. And to think, I was considering playing. Glad I didn't make that mistake.
Scores will be up later today/tonight. (I left my laptop at Dustin's house- whoops.) I'll get it done at work sometime
Thanks everyone for coming down. I think things went ok for the most part. There is definately room for improvement.
Scott- The discs came out great. I'll get you a PM later this weekend.
1st place open was 505. Not bad for having a large sum of the added cash not show up.

Care to divulge any info on that one?
505 is awesome :) That tops my 423 for Channy.
It's always rough when money is promised and never shows.
PDGA.com has been messed up for a few hours. Scores are all ready to be uploaded.
I've noticed that.
Just got to work and uploaded the scores.
Does anyone know Justin McLeod? I have his funbux for 3rd in MA4.
If you see any mistakes, let me know.
Thanks for all the hard work Dana & crew! Excellent event and the courses are always awesome.
A-Tier next year?
A-tier sounds good. We'll see.
Next up keep on the lookout for an event at Eureka and I'm working on a course in Pontiac and will have an event.
