For the 4th consecutive year I will be hosting the Wisconsin Tour Warm Up at the wildly popular, Lustig Park in Janesville, WI. This is a PDGA C-Tier event.
This event has been a one day event as well as a split day event and this year we are going back to being a single day format. There have been a ton of inquiries regarding this event for the past few weeks and now we are ready to get things going. As always, pre-registration is available both by snail mail and online. If you wish to avoid paying the online charges feel free to mail your entries to: Terry Miller | 14781 W Hidden Creek Ct | New Berlin, WI 53151. Simply subtract $5 from the prices you see online.
All event fees go up by $10 after 5pm on Thursday, April 10th. Please do the event, others, and yourself the courtesy of committing and pre-registering for the event. You can cancel up until 9 am on Saturday morning if you can't make it.
I look forward to seeing you all in Janesville!

sweet , ill be there! janesville is fun to play, hopefully it will dry up and not be a mud hole
Sounds good Jason,
I was told that the new tee pads are in on most (or all) of the holes. That will help a ton. They are looking to get all brand new baskets to replace the homemade ones but unfortunately that won't happen until after the event this year.
This event has been in very high demand the past few years so please pre-register early everyone! I'm working on custom artwork for some custom stamped discs as we speak.
Ter
Gonna have to miss this one again this year...I'll be at a conference in Chicago for work.
Hope all goes well.
Sorry to hear you can't make it Serg! Maybe Carla and some of the other girls will come?
Already up to 6 pre-registrations. Not bad for 'opening day'.

Please remember - this year it's just being offered as a SINGLE day event. All divisions on one day. I can't make any promises but I'm trying to get free pizza for lunch like we've had in past years.
Ter

With just 10 people registered at the moment we are still 14 days before the late fee goes into effect. I'm calling it right now...this event will fill and I'm going to get calls and e-mails from people saying, "Dude, just add one more hole and let me and my 4 buddies all get in." Please ... don't be that guy!!!
Pre-Register (mail in or do it online)

Get your checks in the mail today so that they get to me in plenty of time. We are more than 1/3 full and you know everyone will wait until the last 72 hours to try and get in. Secure your spot and get in now.
Ter
PS - Thank you to all of the club members that have already sent their stuff in!
Hey everyone,
Along with some people from league I also got a handful of people from Illinois today. Thank you for getting registered and getting taken care of. In fact, as I'm typing this message there are a couple of people from Illinois using my site and getting signed up as well.
Please get yourselves registered for this event everyone! I know more are coming in the mail tomorrow and next thing you know it will be getting really close to full. We are working on FREE pizza for lunch like we have had in 2 of the 3 previous years. I can't make any promises but I'll try. We do have custom stamped discs for all Am players.
If you have a problem paying using my storefront you can call me and we can walk you through a credit card payment if necessary (yes, the surcharge still applies). You can always paypal the full amount to my account as well just sending it to store @ takeflighttoday.com
Thanks everyone!
Sign up now for this event. In less than 20 hours the price of the event goes up $10.00. This is a fun event on a fun course. It will be nice to play on some good new tee pads on this course. Don't be left out, or end up paying more than necessary. Sign up now.
just wondering how the course will hold up to all this rain? Looks like it will be a cold wet day, which i dont mind, just wanted to know how many sets of extra clothes i should bring?

I always have an extra set of clothes in my truck. I think having a change for the second round should do it. But it isn't going to rain on Saturday. :)
This has traditionally been a pretty 'muddy' event. However, it won't be as bad as it could be because this year there will be a full set of 18 pads which is nice.
Normally I feel guilty about hosting events or even playing on courses at this time of year. I guess that's the course designer / public liaison speaking but I don't feel too bad about this one in particular because after the event they are planning to pull the baskets and then plant seed. Then, they will also be purchasing 13 brand new baskets so the entire course will be regular baskets.
Considering the forecast I'm pretty happy with the current pre-reg. I am working on the leaderboard cards as we speak. I am hoping this event falls in line with all of my other events which is smooth and on time. We have custom discs as part of the player's package and we even have 5 Intermediate Women signed up which is pretty cool.
I am no longer confident about the donated pizza because my local source told me tonight that he thinks they sold the pizza place and no longer are involved with disc golf at all. I will have a bunch CTPs and extras for the event including a FREE drawing for a 2008 JAPAN ROC. Everyone that registered using Take Flight Today (which is most of the participants) are entered into that drawing!
See (some of you) on Saturday! Thanks for supporting the WI Tour Warm Up.

As always, I will have a large supply of SealSkin Socks for sale. They are just $30. Anyone that owns a pair will tell you they are well worth it. I started wearing SealSkins about 6 or 8 years ago and one pair a year is the best disc golf investment anyone can make.
Ter
We have just about 72 people that are braving the conditions tomorrow to come out and play in the Wisconsin Tour Warm Up. That means 1 foursome on each hole which is pretty good. We even have 5 intermediate women which is very cool.
Just a warning now that I will be closing down online registration around 10PM tonight and then the event will be officially closed for all registration.
Here is a current list of everyone that is registered for tomorrow: http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7913
If you have problems getting it done online CALL me at 414.803.3307 before 10 and I can process your card over the phone if I have to. I'm just warning everyone that you can't show up tomorrow to pay because tomorrow is just check in with no registration.
Looking forward to whatever the weather brings!
Ter
Heck yeah i need a new pair of seal skins. ill get a pair from you first thing in the morning!!!

Heck yeah i need that japan open roc. ill get that from you at the awards ceremony!!
Terry, thanks for another fine and well run event. The course was not much more than damp except the area around the #8 (I think) tee (the fat ass mark in front of the tee after the first round would be mine). The weather was not nearly as bad as the forecast.
Limiting the field to pre-registered players was fantastic! No fighting lines at the registration table. Plenty of time to warm up. Brief players meeting. Cards arranged in advance so that we could be told our assignments as we checked in. All great! I hope more tournaments do this in the future.
It is weird that it is wet around the tee pad at 8. It seems like it is one of the hightest elevations on the course. It was nice to see Justin shoot a great second round, he was past the basket on hole 12 the second round. The $120 in the Ace fund went to the basket fund. Jake did a great job getting all the tees installed. Good times, the weather was no where near as bad as what was forecasted.
Man that basket fund sure is needed there....well run show today though.
The course is a neat course and the tourney was ran well.... Would attend the tourney again.... But those baskets are the worst i have played on sense i started playing disc golf...
As copied from another message board I posted to:
Unofficial Results are posted::http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7913&year=2008&includeRatings=1 (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7913&year=2008&includeRatings=1)
Thanks again to everyone that braved the conditions today. I think almost all of the participants from today will tell you that it wasn't nearly as bad as what was forecasted. It was far from gorgeous out there but it certainly could have been even worse.
Whoop whoop - another very successful WI Tour Warm Up in the books.
As everyone stated - the weather was not as bad as it was supposed to be. It's too bad that 15 more people didn't sign up and take part today. Oh well.
Regarding the baskets ... I understand everyone's frustrations. Those baskets have slowly gotten worse over the years and they are ready to be upgraded. Thanks to everyone that didn't get an ace today because when you come back next year there should be all new baskets!!!
Thanks again to everyone that came. It was literally a 'whirlwind' of a day but things were still pretty quick, smooth, and fun. Except for my good buddy (DFL) Jonny V, I didn't hear a single person say they didn't have fun today. Mission accomplished from an LDS perspective.
GMO is going to ROCK this year so get to it.
