We've finalized the details and are ready to make the announcement. Several of you heard we were working on something big and this is it! "Discontinuum's $100,000 Skins Presented by Nike" is scheduled for June 31st, 2008 at Bevier Park. This will coincide with the roll out of Nike's line of disc golf gear (discs, shoes, bags, etc.).
We'll be playing 2 rounds of 18 with Nike Merchastravaganza(tm) as prizes for all divisions. Then the top 6 scores will compete in a final 18 hole, $100,000 skins game!!!
Mark this date on your calendar today! Even if you think you won't get into the top 6 you are going to want to be able to tell people you were there!

co-worker of mine swapped out nameplates for people - he has a stack of names of former employees from the past oh.. .probably 5 years at least. He put the former boss' nameplate on some of the current boss' nameplates, one of our DBA's nameplate (a guy that gives and takes jokes all the time and a very important cog to our product) was replaced with an intern's.
They also decided to dump about 3 bags worth of confetti in my file desk drawers. I should make them clean it up lol. I used a bowl that was filled with the confetti - and he knows that I used it - but I haven't made a comment about the confetti - won't give him that satisfaction :)
My conversation with Kelsey upon coming home from Kira's karate class:
Kelsey: Did you bring Kiralyn home with you?
Me: Dang it! I knew I was forgetting something when I packed the car and left the dojo.
Kelsey: [Shocked look.]
Kelsey: Oh, that was a joke? Well, where is she?
Me: Outside. I told her she could hit all the cats with her subarito. She's still chasing after Patches or Tija, I forget which now. The little brown one.
Kelsey: [Shocked look.]
Me: We can't afford to feed all those cats anymore. I think they'll go live at Miss Marcia's if we hit them with sticks a few times.
Kelsey: [Shocked look.]
Me: Wait. Am I forgetting that Kiralyn is the gullible daughter I normally do this to?
Kelsey: [Almost wets her pants laughing.]
Topps baseball cards pulled a pretty good one that was almost 2 months in the making! When they released their 2008 Topps Series 1 baseball product on February 6th, there was a randomly inserted card of a Japanese phenom high school pitcher named Kazuo Uzuki. This sparked interest for people to pick up the card of this unknown player and drove the popularity pretty high as it was talked about more and more. Little did they know that the player's name means "the first son of April", and the person is completely fictional.

I worked the night of 3/31-4/1. I made out assignments for the day shift including a former adolescent who is know to be difficult as a direct admission from home....that means she needs an IV started and who knows what else. I let the nurse stew for about 30 min before "April Fools".

When the boss got to work Tuesday, I told him that a Mr. Lyon had called to say that he needed to talk to Boss about a very important matter with regards to an insurance claim, and would not leave a message, only a call-back number: (708) 688-8000.
He figured it out before the recorded greeting ended, but if someone is in deep thought about what in the world it could be about, they'll actually ask the folks at Brookfield Zoo to speak to Mr. Lyon.
Lame, I know, but harmless fun for young and old alike.
