Title: Merch setup in Orland Park this weekend
Post by: stpitner on April 24, 2008, 03:16:01 PM
I'm going to have disc golf and sports card merchandise set up at the Orland Park Civic Center (147th & La Grange) on Sunday, April 27th for those of you not playing at Lemon Lake that want to browse some plastic!

It's $1 to gain admission to the show, but if you buy a disc from me at the show I'll refund your admission cost.

The show runs from 9AM-2PM.  I'm mainly doing this to help introduce more sport-minded people to this great game, but I'll have some decent selection along with me as well!

That's not far from me down here on the southside.  Can I bring my rob 'em rewards that I won at the Irish?  Just seeing someone buying discs might drum up interest right?

rob 'em rewards are accepted wherever I have merch set up :)  Feel free to come on out!  The same refund for admission of $1 would be applied towards the rob 'em rewards dollars.

Since you're from that area, what courses are good to recommend to people in the area?  I know Mokena is pretty much straight down La Grange.  What else is recommended in that area? (I know I can check the map, looking for a local's opinion :) )

Olympia Fields is not too far.  Joliet area course are not really that far if you live in Orland or Tinley.  There's two nine hole beginner courses in Frankfort if people are looking for an introduction to the sport.  There's also one in Homewood that is a short nine holer.  That's what jumps to mind.

See you Sunday.

Mokena is the best for new players with regards to signage, course upkeep, low chance of losing discs, etc.

I might head out that way with a couple friends to check out some merch Scott.  I had been planning on playing the spring opener but the weather is not looking even close to good. >:(

yeah, that's the one nice thing about doing card shows.  It's INDOORS lol.  I'll probably be able to even back the van up to an unloading dock to get the discs in and out (provided another card dealer isn't already doing that), good stuff :)

Hope to see you there!  I know the card show guy would LOVE seeing some interest in the discs.  He's hoping to have me keep on coming back ;) (I've sold cards there for a couple of years)

haha, cool, can you link me to that?  I know that John was going to advertise "featuring disc golf" stuff, he's trying to help me out the best he can :).  You won't be able to miss me either.  I'm in the same room as where they take admission fees!

thanks guys for coming out.  Unfortunately after you left, the only other discs that I sold were in the parking lot as I was working on loading up the van.  Not exactly the most successful event - the people that were curious about it just wanted to know what it was and not so much wanted to try it out.  oh well.  I have other ideas up my sleeves :)
