How many times did you clear seven foot? I don't think I could long jump seven foot.
I cleared 7' 1/4" (2.14 Meters) three times in college. (I have video showing me clearing the next height at 7' 1 1/2" and then just grazing the bar to miss the height.) Once in competition to win the conference championship and break the school record. The other two times were in practice or during prelim work at the National Championships.
Since you've given me the stage for a moment I'll dredge up a bit of the glory days...
At my best I was ranked in the top 100 jumpers in the United States and around the top 250 jumpers in the world.
I missed getting to the Olympic trials by two inches.
I was a four time NCAA all-american missing a national championship by one height each time.
I still hold my high school and college school records in the event. One still immortalized on the internet.
