Title: Helpful tips for kick starting a club
Post by: Younk on May 20, 2008, 12:19:34 PM
Does anyone have any suggestions?  We have a club name and that's about all

We have been talking and talking but I really want to get the ball rolling because there are definately some improvements to be made to the course.

I am going to announce a club meeting tonight at league and I want to discuss:

•   Get contact info. for club members
Find out who is willing to volunteer, and at what level
•   Club dues (price)
•   Where the dues are allocated (shirts, bag tags, etc.)
•   Teepads
Getting a timeline from the park district, or at least finding out where we stand.
(we were supposed to get cement teepads two weeks ago
•   Club logo
•   Website??
•   Having a fundraiser, etc. for new baskets

Any help you can provide is appreciated

You might try posting this on the Fox Valley Metro site (http://foxvalleymetrodiscgolfclub.com/forum/).  After a rocky start their club seems to be taking off.  They might have some good "do/don't do" suggestions.
