Title: New Discs from Innova
Post by: ParkerJ152 on May 22, 2008, 09:44:44 PM
Hello,

I'm hearing a buzz about 2 new Innova discs, the Pig and the Monarch, does anyone have any info on these discs? I see the Pig is PDGA approved &  I hear the Monarch is a faster Roadrunner.
LOL, Who names a disc a Pig?

the pig is almost guranteed to be an overstable disc, probably a midrange

would make sense to have a stable pig... maybe a putter even.  Monarch - hmm, royalty or butterfly heh.  I'd like to see a faster roadrunner - I wouldn't be surprised if more discs come out that are like the bullet-rim, but perhaps that style is trademarked by Discwing? (as far as I understand, that's the wing type of the Quarter K, but I have not held one of those discs yet).  The roadrunner has a bullet-rim.

This was on another site:

08-05-22 - Pigs and Butterflies

The new Innova under stable driver Monarch is targeted at less powerful players who want to get more distance according to Dave Dunipace. It is a speed 10 driver, with a 5 glide, and a -4 turn and a 1 fade, a faster Roadrunner basically. For more powerful players, this would be a roller or long range turnover disc. The Monarch is scheduled to be available in Champion or Star. In Champion, it will be available in weights down to 154 grams; they will probably reach the shops at the end of June.

Yes, pigs can fly, just ask the guys in Pink Floyd..., Innova is working on an over stable disc called the Pig. The Pig, as its name implies, is an over stable putt and approach, it resembles a Rhyno with its thumtrac. The Pig is a little faster than a Rhyno and has more stability, speed 3, glide 1-2, turn 0 and fade about 3. Only test discs in Pro plastic have been produced so far. No release date is set yet, if test marketing works out, then Innova will make a general release later. The Pig was approved by the PDGA last Tuesday.
