Another great WI course. The course played on & around a big hill. It was a very challenging course. That is the first time that I have had to throw a long distance uphill. I found it to be very difficult. There were also many downhill holes as well. Pro & Am cement tees. Wide variety of shots. The tee signs were beat up & several were missing. That is the only negative I had about the course.

Yeah, Hiestand sure has taken many licks since opening in 97/98.

You shoulda seen it before they took out the old radar station at the top of the hill... It wasn't more than support columns and a roof which made for a good hangout for youth drinkers and other assorted riff raff.

I hear they took out the road which used to wind up to the station as well as the associated parking lot at the top. Too bad, that was a fun 'water' hazard to play.

I forgot all about that radar station.  It's been that long since I played there.  I little cash and work can make it beautiful again.  With the "One Disc" store right across the street, you'd think that more people would help keep it in tip top shape....

You should have seen it a few weeks ago before the Harvest Open.  Beer bottles broken on the teepads, I felt like the Indian guy crying at the garbage in the commercial, very bad.

I finally duece that tough uphill shot in a tournament a few weeks ago.  I love the hole with the big oaks #6.

Brad Wendt has been spending most of his free time at the course cleaning and trimming.  If you see him thank him and the store "A Disc Throw" is run by Mike Newhouse.  I grew up with Mike in Burlington, great guy.  The store is just to the west of the park in the strip mall across the street still on the north side of Milwaukee.

FYI

On Monday March 3, an attempt was mad to pull the baskets out before the forcast snow. Five of the first five baskets we tried to remove were fozen solid, so the course stays in. For now. There is still a chance the course will be removed, if ground moisture looks to damage more dirt and grass areas.

If the course does not get removed, stay off the course when it is very wet.

Thank you interested folfers.

Yeah, I got an early morning round in.... I think I teed off around 9 and was finished in an hour. Had to get to the Dells.

Working in Mad town definately has its perks. Now you gotta get UW to put a course in on the peninsula on the Western edge of campus!
