I guess he didn't read the part about how to register. PM or E-mail :BangHead: :nono:
It's ok, I'll just double his entry fee. ;)
Sorry about registering this way since it was the easiest for me. My computer has a problem sending e-mails unless the e-mails can be sent thru certain club sites. I did not expect it to be a topic of discussion and have a nice day .
Don't worry about it Ron. Its all in good fun. =)
The old "my computer can't send emails" excuse. Just kidding. ;D Can't wait for this tournament. Free and fun!!! Can't beat that. Where do we send the PM to Register. Mike or Mirth? or somone else?

If I do the cashless pre-reg for Advanced and cannot attend, will you roll it over to the next one? ::)
Send the PMs to me. If pre-reg Advanced players cannot make it, their entry fee will be added to the Open pool. ;)

no kidding... just look at all those zeroes...
Pre-registration list (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=8186) has been posted. Keep them coming in. A beautiful fall Friday is in store for all who come.
The trophies are almost done. Here are the trophies for Longest Drive and Best Putter. Help me out and send me your cashless pre-reg (see info in the first post). You really shouldn't be working on Friday September 12. You should be tossing some discs.

Cool looking trophies :)
I'm looking for a trade so I can be off on Thursday night and be awake on Friday morning......
Sweet! Nice work Mike.
I just realized that illinoisdiscgolf.com hasn't been updated regarding the Invitational. It is NOT August 22. It is on Friday September 12.
I apologize in advance for anyone that shows up at Bevier tomorrow. If you took the day off, I hope you enjoy it.
Mike,
Here is a response I got today about the prereg list.
This is an enquiry e-mail via http://discontinuum.org from:
___
Do some research on the name spelling of the new world champ!!
It's all wrong on your pre-reg for the club invite.
To funny.
____
Anyway. This is always fun and it draws some attention. Last year there was a PDGA thread dedicated to this.
I have a few more to add.
Open Valkyrie Jenkins
Lead Card at Worlds
Felderberg already there.
Open Date Noss
Open Milkey Randolph
Open Mott Arum
The Champ
Open Cen Klimo
Open Larry Schultz
Advanced Ozzie "Psycho" Guillen
Advanced Jett Favre
Advanced David Nelson says he'll be there for sure and does not get on here.
Adrian Sr would like a head count of how many people will be showing up. Hopefully we get a stellar turnout like last year with 60+ showing up. He will be cooking for everyone. He is not charging but a donation can will be set out.
i already took the day off so i will be there
Adrian Sr, that is a great offer. With Rockford the weekend before, I could get used to lunch on site as a standard tournament amenity.
btw Make sure you count Mukey twice in your headcount for food.
Waaaaaayyyyyy back in 2001, Adrian and his brother cooked for the first Bevier Blast.
The food was so good that folks were willing to 999 the afternoon round just to get second helpings!
Brett will attest to that:
http://discontinuum.org/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=45&g2_itemId=3439
Heh, I remember that. And yep, the Gutierrez family cooks up some damn fine grub.
We did a workday after doubles earlier this year and they had the pavillion. Adrian was just putting stuff on the grill when we passed by after the round.
Two hours later, after we were done working, there were tons of leftovers and he was happy for me to take a hunk of steak off his hands. It was yummy!
At the Invitational, I'm planning on running an ancillary event that still needs a cool name. At this point, all you need to know is that, if you want to participate in the game to be named later, the entry fee is one PDGA legal disc from your trunk that you want to get rid of. Everyone that participates will take home one of those discs. How that all happens remains to be seen on the 12th.
Did I mention that I am taking cashless pre-reg?

Pickax,
I don't have a car, would it be okay if I took a disc out of the back of my truck?
What do you think this is? Texas? :P
No questions will be asked about the last place of residence for the disc. The discs can be in any condition as long as they are PDGA legal.
sweet, it's not 12/31/08 yet...
*goes and gets a Turbo Putter*... ;)
Sounds like a White Elephant Disc Exchange :P
Just a reminder. If you are planning on coming Friday, please send me a pm (or email to the address above). The more accurate of a head count we get, the smoother this thing runs.
See you all on Friday!
The putting competition will be similar to what was run at Worlds this year. It will be a head to head bracketed format. It will be random draw.
whip out yer disc
Was someone working on trophies or were the trophies just for the putting/driving competitions?
I may work on something if I get a chance if no one else has already started.
I do have similar trophies for 1st place in Open and Advanced. I just have not posted pictures.
If I have a friend that wants to join the club and play on Friday should he just show up Friday and sign up then and pay then?
Yup. New memberships will be taken both for the club and for the PDGA.
There are 30 pre-reg'd so far. Who else is coming? (PM or email me) Bring your tag and your game. See you Friday.
Two rounds of 18? Any extra holes?
2 rounds of 20.

Thanks for that, Mike!
Sounds like a good time. Too bad some of use can't play on Friday mornings.
I have a cold.
I just can't afford the $240 entry fee! ;)
Hello. Can someone add me and my friends to the list..
Matt Travis #29292
Matt Rodgers #30628
Mike Chavarria #30113
All Names for ADV thanks

...Bring your tag and your game...
Will there be a laptop on site for easy input and sorting of tags? When we tried this last year without a laptop it was a mess. I don't know who did it this past weekend but it seemed to work out alright. I can bring mine if it will help.
Since tags are required, I put a spot on the leader board cards for the bag tag numbers. It shouldn't be that complicated. (If you want to bring your laptop in case what I think will work doesn't, it would be a nice backup).
I can make sure that mine is fully charged and bring it along.. maybe we'll have dueling laptops!
Hey Mike,
I know this is not going through the proper channels but I believe T-Doggggggggggggg Miller is going to be at the event tomorrow.
I'm not surprised. Terry usually brings a contingent down from wisconsin for the invitational.
Some Satin Solstice Imperial Stout should take of that cold, Mirth.
Hey, did you hang onto the bagtags that SOME people forgot in Rockford?
I don't know how I pulled this one off, but I will be there tomorrow. On my 16th wedding anniversary. I'll buy here a nice new pink disk, then everything will be o.k. Riiiiiiiiggghhht.

Good luck with that, Mike!
Since I'm not getting cancelled from work, I won't be there....I'll be asleep :'(
Have a great round everyone!!
Hey there guys,
I am rolling down there tomorrow with Scott Reek.
I meant to post this earlier in the week but if there is anything that people are looking for and they know I carry it, please call or e-mail me immediately and let me know. Of course I have tons of random discs but any of the odds or ends is what I am thinking you might be looking for, metal minis, blue chairs, dvds, etc. Again, shoot me an e-mail or text or something and just let me know! 414.803.33307
See you in the morning. The trophies I have received from the past 3 years have been some of the nicest trophies ever and I am looking forward to battling it out with everyone tomorrow.

nice work, hope the storm doesnt get you afterwards
Good turnout today!
Although I didn't play particularly well either round today I wanted to post about the great time that I had.
I see great guys like David Nelson and Doug Walker at many of my events but rarely do I have the chance to play with them. Today was a great opportunity for just that. I probably talked more than usual (I know, only one can imagine how much talking that is) but it was great to get fresh new perspectives from nice guys like them.
Providing the lunch was a great touch. I was happy to donate to Sr, some cause, the club or whatever it goes to. Thanks again for providing such a service. I don't recall ordering the rain at any point so I didn't tip for the 'rain ala mode'.
The ordeal regarding bag tags is always challenging yet it's a staple as part of the event. Thank you to everyone that fights so hard to make that all work out in the end. How in the world do I come with one tag number and leave 8 hours later with that exact same number?
The extra games (such as putting and long drive) are fun too because you don't do those at most events. I'd like to thank Diabetic Dave for rolling over for me in the final championship title bout. I mean, he was just doing that to be nice right?
Again, both Scott Reek and I had a great time and I look forward to next year being my 5th year at the Club Invitational. It's a great idea and it's refreshing (and promising) to see so many people step up to take on a task and pull off this event. Thanks to everyone that had anything to do with the event and I hope to see many of you at the next LDS event I run!
Thanks for you all coming out for my first tournament as TD. It was a fun (albeit wet) time. Brett, thanks for adding the couple of temp holes and taking care of miscellaneous I didn't see. Adrian, thanks for taking care of lunch. In taking care of the all the TD type stuff I think I missed the donation can. That will be remedied. Aaron, thanks for looking over my shoulder and helping me get tags right. Even Patti helped out getting the CTPs ready. Tom thanks for running the putting contest and long drive contest. Now there are others that probably helped out (like Mike Clark strolling out in the rain to fetch the last two CTPs), but the day was a blur and I'm terrible with names. While I might not be able to recognize your help publicly here, it was still very much appreciated.
CTPs were donated by Prime Discs, Sergio Correra, iPlayDiscGolf.com, PaperOrPlasticSports.com, and Jim Klem (and at least one other person ...Terry Miller?. Again there's that blur thing going on).
There are some things I learned like turn off your phone so I don't get calls from a player telling me that they are 15 minutes away or that there have been a few questions to the PDGA office about some of our pre-reg list. (Dave Felderberg, Valkyrie Jenkins, and George W Bush never showed).
And for those that humored me with the mystery box:
The answers were
D - Comet
SRP -Crossfire
D - Xtra
Dx - Beast
Pro - Banshee
Finally what you all really care about: Scores are posted.

BIG THANKS to Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez, Brett, and the rest of the crew!
Tons of fun! :D
Tons of food! ;D
Thanks DISContinuum! I am so glad to be a part of a club that does so much for the sport in general as well as give back to those members that help support them!
I had a great time and 2 great cards to play with (with the exception of having to play with Diabetic ;)) The food was frickin' fantastic - Thanks Adrian! As Patti said, "Just like a meal at home."
Thanks again to everyone involved in making this happen.
Awesome time yesterday!
Thanks to Mike for stepping up and running the event.
Thanks to Adrian Sr. for lunch.
Ditto on all the above the comments:
Real Fun
Great Food
Great Company
Terrible playing on my part ;D
I really liked the "Guess The Disc" even though I didn't play it.
Mike
Nice job running your first event. After blowing the horn for the two minute warning and the start of play you came hustling up to the tee on hole one. You reached back and parked it and then went on to birdie three of the first four holes and throw a 905 rated round. Nice! .
The Gutierrez's kept us all in the park together by making a dekicious BBQ lunch which added to the atmosphere. Thanks.
Great time yesterday and glad we mostly avoided the rain! Thanks for the good times and special thanks to the Gutierrez' for the great lunch!
Took us almost 2 and a half hours to get back to the city. :(
i feel your pain there it took us about 3 and a half hours.. to go 80 miles
It took me till almost 8 to get home last night. So 3.5 hours to get to Aurora. A whole lot of 15 mph stretches in there. But the trek was worth all of it.
You're not supposed to go straight home after a Discontinuum Invitational. That's just crazy. You go out to eat and for a couple of brews, play another round some where and then head home when the traffic is more normal.
Thanks for telling me after the fact!!!
It wasn't exactly "let's go hang out somewhere" type of weather, but I agree with you Jon.
champ right here
We may have to change the name of the club, the club invitational champion and the longest drive champion is from Michigan and our putting champion is from Wisconsin. Congrats to Geoff for winning the longest drive contest.
Order of finish for the longest drive:
1. Geoff Bennett
2.Scott Reek
3. Bryan Schumann
A special shout out to Taylor Cimala for putting a dent in the fence on his last shot for the longest drive.
Putting results:
Semi-finals
Terry Miller over Serg Correa
Dave Nelson over Tom McManus
Finals
Terry Miller over Dave Nelson.
Special recognition to the battle between Geoff Bennett and Aaron Scott, with Aaron coming away with the win.
Another fun Discontinuum event. Great job by all.

Ahhh, I only won by the fact that I had a dry towel and Geoff didn't ;)
I guess that round caddying for Yeti paid off.
