After looking on line, it appears there are many places to camp in/around the dells. Do any of you have and good or bad experiences with different camp sites around the Dells?
I've always camped at Devil's Lake in Baraboo, but in order to get a reservation you have to put it in early. They have some 1st come, 1st serve campsites but that's a long way to go & NOT get a campsite. They have showers and flush toliets, the Lake to swim in, and the course in Baraboo is pretty neat. Mostly short & technical, but fun to play for all skill levels.
Der, yeah, read Roman's post & I forgot about the hiking, that's also really good.
I have the same experience as Mukey. I usually go camp at Devil's Lake. Great hikes, good camp sites, fun little course in town. If you do end up going there, check out the Log Cabin restaurant on the east end of town. Good stuff.
I camped at Jellystone ages ago. No real comments on the campground itself as we got in around dark and left early the next morning as a storm was coming in.
Devil's Lake is awesome, spent many nights there camping & hiking in Scouts.
I spend most of my summer at Devils Lake climbing and biking... We always stay at Wheelers campground.. it is very close to the lake and to town.. Log cabin is good for the brunch but I prefer Christinas in town and make sure you stop at Wok King, the owner/cook is a chinese Elvis..
I heard they had a nice house boat show up there this year...but that's just a once in a while kind of a thing.
