Played here with my brother today & I gotta say the course is looking great. You still get punished for going too far off fairway, but they've done a great job taking out some of the brush in the usual landing areas, only had 1 time where we had to search & found the disc in 5 minutes.

The custom hot stamp is attached.  I'm picking up a LOT of plastic with this stamp on it as I know that people like the small stamp like this.  If you're familiar with the Sinnissippi stamp - this one is very much the same in size and placed on the disc like a thumb grip.  I kept it simple.

As long as the PDGA posts the event and gives me the thumbs up, this will be an AM B-Tier and Pro C-Tier.  The custom stamp will generate more than enough sponsorship to get the required $500 added cash value to the AM's.

I am also purchasing 50 CFR discs - probably the CFR Champ Gator and the CFR Star Whippet-X.  These are $20 each, and proceeds will go towards a couple things - probably added pro cash, maybe some CTP's, and some money goes towards the Fox Valley Metro's concrete funds that they are trying to raise for concrete pads to be installed at Oswego.

I would anticipate receiving the order the week of the tournament.

Don't forget that space is limited - only 95 players max!

There will be some you can purchase before the tournament and if you see any Fox Valley members at any events before the Oswego Open you can purchase some from them for a small donation of $5 towards concrete tees at Eagle Ridge in Oswego. Thanks

There have been may hours put into that hole to make it what it is. Sr has put in more hours of hard work on that course than most people play disc golf in a year. It has paid dividends. The fairways are there now and the schule is rough, but fair. Hole 4 has kind of become his "baby" as it is the signature hole on the course now. Now we just need those concrete tees in the woods to really make the course nice and about 5 more years to get rid of the poison ivy that keeps coming back as well as getting the fairways completely groomed.

By the way, the prizes are really starting to come in now for the raffle. As Scott stated above there are:
- a 4 pack of discs
- a 2008 CE roc (x out/ double stamp)
- a Skillshot portable basket
- an Innova Competition bag (holds about 20 discs) filled with (so far):
a dx aviar
a 1st run force
a FLX Surge SS
an 11X KC PRO roc
a supercolor ESP zone
a drone
and a few others I cannot remember
pencils
scorecard holder
fox metro dgc mini
stickers
Discraft hat

Once again:
tix will be available with a donation to our concrete tee fund of $5.
We will ddraw the winners in between the 1st and 2nd round.
Winner does not need to be present to win.
Tix will be available both before and during this event. If you are interested please contact any Fox Metro officer.

Sr. your hard work is appreciated. when i walked up to 4 and took my first look from the tee pad i thought this is a picture perfect hole, and i played the hole twice.

Thanks for signing up, Dana :)  I added your name to the list.  I'm glad that the pre-reg was nice and easy.  The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't collect a mailing address... but do I really need that?  I get a valid email address with the paypal payment in case I need to contact the person.  I may work on the possibility to add a checkbox to see if you wanted to be added to a mailing list or something to send out info about upcoming tournaments.

You'll like the course - it's not easy, but it's definitely a course worthwhile to play.

I've decided that I will open up registration the day of the event as well to draw in additional people (the larger the pools the more benefit for all), but day-of registrations will have a $5 late fee penalty.  Please pre-register!

We're currently at 14 players, and I know of a couple more that have not signed up yet.

Hope to see you there!

Pre-reg is up to 29 now.  I'll be taking pre-reg's at the Invitational if you are interested in coming out.  Would love to see some more pro's come out too.  The more that show, the more interest I have in added cash to the pro purse!  Don't forget that we do have CFR discs to sell as well to help add some cash to the pro purse.  Geoff Bennett signed up today, our Illinois USDGC representative Dana Vicich will be there as well :)

I either have some of the '07 USDGC or the Clash @ Renny Gold DVD.  I'm thinking it might be Renny Gold though.  Innova has been out of stock of both DVD's for quite some time.  If I have one, I'll save it for you, but don't count on it.

y0 Scott!

Tomorrows weather is looking like 90% chance of 1-2 inches of rain and possible thunder.  I'm about to preregister knowing this, i just want to make sure it will still go on.

Reply back when you got a sec.

Thanks!

I may limit how much merch I put out or something - but the event will still go on.  I'm just hoping that as much of it as possible will pass over today and tonight.

The only thing that might change is that we might not have Pro/Adv play longs second round due to slippery conditions.  I'll know more in the morning.

What do I do on a day where we have record breaking amounts of rain?  Why go out and run a disc golf tournament of course!

Thanks to the 44 players that were just as insane as me to get out to the course.  Thanks soooo much to Fox Valley Metro Disc Golf Club for their help!

Results are posted!

http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=8265&year=2008&includeRatings=1 (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=8265&year=2008&includeRatings=1)

It looks like a +2 was a 900 rated round 1st round and even was 900 rated 2nd round.

Nice shooting all :)

Did Geoff Bennett move to Illinois or is he just on an extended stay here?

Hey Scott, you can post your am payouts also if you want to. Sometimes I forget but I try. You aren't required to, I just didn't know if you knew that you could. I don't know why the PDGA doesn't post them when they make the official results but they can be out there as long as they are unofficialized.

Was kind of surprised that R2 ratings jumped that much (20+ points).

Bennett 2'd holes 15-19 to win it.

Marcos was out on 19- he went for the putt and missed and was 20 out.  I was up for my 30 footer and aired it.  Bennett steps up to his 28-30 footer and his putter hits the front of the basket, jumps up (his putter is standing straight up and down) and goes in!  Now the pressure was on Marcos to make his 20ish footer for the tie- he misses and I cleaned up my 15 footer for 3rd.  Quite a finish!

That was my first time playing with Marcos, he is a SOLID player.

Thanks again to Scott for sticking it out and running another solid event!
