Someone told me that in the Bloomingdale Village monthly flyer, it mentions a course near completion. I think it will be a 9 hole course of Springfield Ave by the school but im not positive. Anybody know about this?

"Springfield Park
The final design is complete and a construction contract has been awarded for the improvements to be made at Springfield Park. The planned improvements began in July 2007 and include the grading and seeding of the north section of the park in preparation for the installation of four new soccer fields, two with field lights. Also included in the plan is the addition of a nine-hole disc golf course, bocce ball courts and trail and path improvements. Additionally, the construction of a 7000sq. foot maintenance facility is expected to be complete by the summer of 2008. Click here to see our plan to restore the Springfield Park Wetlands. "

ALL RIGHT!!
BOCCE BALL!!!It looks like that's just south of the Roselle "course".
Roselle's course is not that bad - sheesh lol. They're actually working on putting in another 9, and they've asked me to help determine where to put it - however it's in pretty much a wide open field. I'm hoping that I can still convince them to put it in the rough over by 5 and 6.. those would make for some very tough holes!
But Tyler's right, the course is just southeast of Roselle's course.... just under 2 miles apart. For those of you who could use more general directions - it's 53/355/290 to the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway and exit at Gary, take that down to 20/Lake, head east to a right turn on Springfield Rd.
The satellite image is not encouraging... most of the park looks wide open... maybe if they use some of the water it would add some hazards?
They are trying to squeeze too much into one park. When I talked to the Roselle Park District guys they don't realize how much trees are a disc golfers friend (and worst enemy). We don't want just wide open grass to throw around discs. That doesn't make a challenge.
Wish I knew how to spread that information better to the various park districts!
