Hey Damon,

I can't make your gig this Friday, however I'm curious if you'd consider letting me tape your next one?

I could use the practice....

I will go to this show if you're okay with us taping it.  Like the man said, we need a lot of practice.

Well since it's in the city, and I work untill 10 in the city,  will prolly be there! Unless, I am going to Champaign this weekend, I should know tonight though.

Damon, do you have the CDs "Third Place!" or "Airplay" to buy direct from you, or do I need to pay for shipping? I love jazz and I'd like to hear them. Plus $10 each sounds like a pretty fair price.

I finally got a chance this weekend to listen to "Airplay" and "Third Place" and I must say that the Damon Short Quintet is very talented. I enjoyed both cds very much.

I'll be selling cd copies for $5 each if anyone is interested. ;)

Sure, if I can get a copy. I usually tape them myself.

We'll probably play 2 long sets, c. 10-11:15 and then 11:45 - 1 am, maybe 1:15

I'd only ask (...insist, actually) that any setup be done before we start. I'll be there about 9:15. We should hit pretty close to 10 sharp.

The Velvet Lounge is truly a funky little joint, and it's a great place to play and hear some pretty esoteric music. There's also great fried chicken next door. Indiana is a block east of Michigan, and the Velvet is a half block north of Cermak/22nd St. www.velvetlounge.net

I appreciate your interest!

I think it's $10, but we're worth it ;)

I'll bring them to Kenosha tomorrow.

Keep in mind they're pretty flippy though....and they tend to chip a lot when they hit chain.

I saw one of my CDs being resold on Ebay once. Not sure what they got for it.
