With the seemingly long list of available molds and plastics, you'd have to think that some of these might slowly start coming off the board - especially from Innova. I know that Discraft just dumped a bunch or only kept 1 plastic type of the particular mold.
It looks like the Ace from Innova has finally gone away (although many of you might say, the what?)... and 2 years ago the pro TeeBird-L went away along with the Champion Aviar, Gator, and Stingray. The Gator went to CFR, the Aviar I think you can get champion glow, and Champ Stingray is completely gone I think.
Any thoughts on what might be next to go? I thought the Classic Roc was done and all of a sudden a ton of those became available. The Classic Aviar might go through the same, but right now that's not available. I'm guessing either the Birdie or the Polecat might be one of the next ones to go.
Classic Aviar & KC Pro Whippit
I predict something newer will go first- Goblin, Skeeter or Kite. I don't see many new players picking up any of those discs. Roc and Stingray fans have no need for those discs and Discraft has the Buzzz. Just a prediction. Jason

I could maybe see the Goblin, but honestly I don't really have a problem moving Skeeter's and Kite's. However I do agree that it feels like there is a glut of beginner mid ranges (Goblin, Skeeter, Kite, Shark)

About the Classic Aviar
The Classic Aviar is the original model that gave rise to all other Aviars. The Classic is our straightest flying Aviar model from start to finish. It is made in a firm plastic with a good grip. Like all other Aviar models it is reliable and dependable in all conditions.

Both the Birdie and the Polecat have a loyal following. I don't think they will get discontinued. A while back Dave Dunnipace was talking about discontinuing the Viking. But since then they've added six or seven discs.
The decision to discontinue discs is mainly driven by production capacity and inventory capacity. Innova has figured out how to expand their production without sacrificing on the level of quality or the price they want to maintain. Discraft has not figured out how to do that.

... or were they just happy to see you? 8)
Seriously though, there was talk floating around once about putting Schweb's name on the Shark if he won a major...
