Title: Is your course flooded?
Post by: Fox Metro Discer on September 16, 2008, 07:24:48 AM
What courses in the area are flooded?
Jericho Lake is under about 2-4 ft of water.
Check out some pics of the front 9.

You cannot even get over the bridge to the back 9.

I can't imagine that it's very dry, that course is normally fairly wet even when it's dry!

Lower divisions are this weekend aren't they? Guess we'll know for sure then.

Channy is unerwater and the river has not crested yet;  seriously doubt any golf there this weekend; J-town doubles moved from channy to shorewood tomorrow.  Naperville course is a lake too.

Even ball golf courses have taken a hit. I've driven by a three that you can see from the road are significantly flooded.

Many parks in this area are in flood plains. It's better than putting houses there!

oakbrook was fine today, just muddy...

the tree was also gone on hole 8.  not sure how long ago they moved it, just figured it was worth mentioning.

I would expect our temporary bridge overlayment to either have been washed downstream or otherwise destroyed by the gang wannabes. I'd expect water to have come close to basket 16, is usually gets near it on the South side of the green.

I'm more curious if doubles actually happened last Sunday? I was going to be there until Beth came down with a bad reaction to her flu shot.

the reservoirs  at palatine are flooded and one almost reaches hole 4 and the other one has found its way onto hole 7's fairway but you can still play it.  The course actually looks pretty cool this way and with both flooded hole 6 is fun with water on both sides which penalizes shots off of the fairway. I would definitely recommend checking this course out while the reservoirs are still really really high.

Holy crap that's a lot of water! It's usually a really long walk down to the water's edge.

I haven't been to Crystal Lake, but it's probably a safe bet that #5 and #14 would be flooded.  #14's flooding could potentially be widespread enough to affect 11 and 12.

You could probably play 1-4, 7-10, 15-18 and get a decent round in.

streamwood is fine as of thursday night.  playing the tee under the tree for hole #6 (don't know if thats the alternate or the original) is pretty nice because you're throwing over mini ponds.

almost par'd 15...  getting closer every time

Does anyone know about lombard, i have the itch to play the meadows

madison meadows is fine except the two places it is always bad.

its still a marsh between 3 and 4.  it's also terrible passed the the trees on 15 to the left.

the pond is also raised but was starting to receed.  other than that, it's fine.

Fairfield isn't that bad, just soggy.  The only bad part is between 14 and 15 where you must cut through the woods.
