Attached is a copy of the 2009 Illinois Disc Golf Tour.
Keep in mind it's still very early in the scheduling and there may be some changes and additions. This is very tentative right now and the earliest the Illinois Tour has ever been posted.
Please make sure to thank your TD's this year. They have been working hard to supply you with fun events to play.
Well that sure warms the heart on a cold and snowy winter night. Thanks Brett and all the Illinois TD's. I hope to get to a bunch of everybody's events this year.
Brett - you can update all of my events to be a minimum of C/Am-B - I've always done B-Tier level payouts to AM's even if it was C-Tier, and I don't mind helping those am's that come out to play earn some more points with that higher multiplier :)
Venue information will hopefully stick, but agreed - very tentative.
Attachment has been modified.
nice to see our jtown events back.
Thanks for putting this together, Brett. This is by far the earliest I've ever seen a schedule of Illinois events. It makes it a lot easier to select which events to play.
One question: There two Illinois Tour events on August 29 & 30. How is that going to work? Just wondering, since I'd like to play all of the Illinois Tour events this year.

No problem. It's getting harder since there are more events but the Illinois TD's are the one's to thank. They have done a great job comminicating with me. Progress is being made every year in Illinois. It's exciting to see 2 A-Tiers on the schedule and some Am/Pro B-Tiers along with all the other great events.
Don't quote me on this but that date for the Gateway Open may change. Dave has been in contact with me and would love to see the north part of the state come down for this event. He's got someone from Dynamic Discs coming to run the event. There is going to be pretty decent added cash as well.
On the Illinois Tour side of it. I have yet to update the points from 2008. The PDGA website being down was an issue and I actually forgot about it this winter. I was contacted a few weeks ago about the update. There doesn't seem to be much interest in the overall points since there really is no reward or trophy. I was actually thinking about not doing the points in 2009. If there is a demand I will do so. I have been highlighting the A-Tiers and Pro/Am B-Tiers.
What if I were to donate $10,000 to the Intermediate Illinois Tour winner in 2009? Would that spark some interest? Its just an idea I've been kicking around. I'll let you know for sure once I know who the winner is.
I might be mistaken but I think on the first release of this schedule there was a tournament to be held at the oaks in Mokena in August, and now it's gone. Last year didn't seem complete without a tournament there, something happen to this one? ???
its there. august 15 and 16 Illinois Open - B Tier. just opened it.

the 5-16/5-17 on the pdga page i dont think is an ios event, cause no ios dates are posted on there yet. can someone from the ios crew please verify this.
The IOS date is May 2/3.
I was not contacted by the Kamm's about May 16/17 date. Lombard can definitely host several successful sanctioned events during the year. 2 Weeks apart is not the greatest ideas. To make it worse the Milwaukee A-Tier is May 16/17.
This is just a reminder.
Illinois TD's. Please contact me about your sanctioned events and dates for approval. They will not be listed on the PDGA Tour until they are approved.

How is that I thought it was a minimum of 400 miles between A tier events. Lansing, MI CCR Open A-Tier is also May 16-17 and that is only about 300 miles from Wilwaukee, WI

I have nothington to do with A-Tier scheduling. PDGA handles that. I have not seen the Milwaukee Am A-Tier show up on the schedule yet. Not sure if it's going to happen or not. It was on the list I got back in November from the PDGA.
I'm sure Brett will post the change eventually - but so that there's not a conflict with the doc and the PDGA once they post it up - Irish You the Best of Luck @ Channahon is confirmed for March 28th-29th. That's the official word :) There will either be portapotties this year or if the weather is nice enough, they'll reopen the bathrooms - I won't know about that until later.
I'll get that updated this weekend Scott. There is an addition to the calendar. Mike Clark contacted me Sunday and is going to take a crack at bringing a very cool venue into play with potential for it becoming permanent in the future. He's working on the details. If that venue is not used he assures me the event will be somewhere else locally. The date is May 16/17. I'm sure he'll have more information for release soon.
Is the tour schedule pretty accurate now a days? I noticed it hasnt been updated in a while. Mike Clark you still doing that tourny on a temp course this month?
Mike Clark's event is not happening - my May 23rd/24th event is not happening - Peoria Open is still on, and there will be Friday night dubs before that event as well (not sanctioned).
My June event should still be on, although I still have to make some calls to confirm where I'm going to be, hopefully I won't have to flip flop anything.
The rest of the calendar I can't speak for.
might be time for an update
update
Brett - could you add the Roselle August 9th tournament on there? It will still be called Grip It & Rip It. You can either put a link to my site or a link to http://www.roselleparkdistrict.com/ for it.
Just wondering. Is Illinois State Championships going to happen? I see nothing on PDGA or on Jolietdiscgolf.com. The dates listed on Brett's calendar are only a few weeks away. Does anybody know anything about this? Damon and I went to Highland yesterday and the course is tremendous. I really hope somehting happens there.
yeah come on. somebody please run this tournament. I need to try to redeem myself after having the worst score at west park back in June. ;)
I updated the tournament document.
As far as I know the Illinois State Championships is not happening next weekend.
