Are you going to just mix all different kinds of soups? Or should people bring a specific soup?
(Not that I can go )
why did you have to say anything dana? i would have enjoyed hearing about the tomato/cream of mushroom/chicken noodle combo soup.
I think I have a recipe for SPAM soup. Maybe everyone should just bring a couple cans of SPAM. >:D
Who played this last year? How hard was it to find your disc in the snow?

The 10:20 AM start was great. Finding discs in the snow when it is dark is a bonus.
It was very hard to find your disc in the snow... there was about 8 inches of snow on the ground... really had to watch your disc...
Is there a pre-reg setup for the event?
I am allergic to mushrooms, so how are soups going to be dealt with?

Not to worry, there will be a full menu for those allergic to mushrooms. Thanks for asking though because this is often a big selling point looking back through Abominable Snowman disc golf history.
Jason, can you make sure to save me a spot in this event? I might be running a little late, but I should be there. If it gets to be like 11am or something, just go ahead and start without me and I'll just start on Hole 1 and catch up on my own.
hole 19 was a bear for finding discs. When you tee it looks like you'll find it no problem ,but then you walk a slight downhill, and once you get out there it's just a sea of white snow. I highly recommend a spotter on 19 (whether it's the short version with temp baskets by tree or the long 660' version)
I still wish I could get back my 163 or 164g lime green Champ Wraith that disappeared on 17. I went back out there everyday for about a week trying to find it. I found a couple other discs on 4, 6, and 11 that I returned - all of them in super easy spots to find if there was no snow.
There are also lots of people that love to walk that course and pick up discs - if you lose one, you're more than likely not going to get it back unless it's found that day.

Well now that I know that Emeril is coming to this event I might have to sign up. "Ok, We're just gonna put a little more spice in the pot and...SPAM...."

I had an easy 3 turn into a re-tee 5 with a few holes to go.
prereg is up

Is anyone going to this that lives near Des Plaines. I would like to play, but I need a ride that day.
I will help pay for gas/food.
Thanks

Hi I was thinking about coming out on Saturday but I had some questions...
What do we get for the players pack?
Is there going to be a flymart and will the discs be out all day or just at the end like last year?
edit; nevermind this is listed at the bottom;
*$5 Online service fee is included in the registration amounts below. If you wish to save the $5 online fee you can contact the Tournament Director by calling, 630-261-5078 or e-mailing him mayfairdg at yahoo.com
Is there a reason that on the pre-reg site, all the divisons are listed as $5 more to pre-reg than the prices listed here and midwestdiscgolf  Usually its the opposite.
So what are the conditions like on the course? how much snow do you guys have on the ground? im trying to decide if its worth my time to make the trip up there
might be all gone by saturday, it may be in the 50s+
:::::bump:::::::
hey this event is tomorrow. Any idea what the player pack is?
I guess there will be player's pack for Nov and Rec only.
Anyone been out there recently? How's the course conditions?
i was there last week the tees r shoveled and now was not bad at all this weather and tomorrow will be like sprin in winter the 50 degree weather will help the players out and the name will melt a little which will make it easier for the players to find there discs
last year was a disc of your choice out of some of Jason's cryztal plastic that was dyed or stamped with his school's abbreviations (GE), or a disc that was leftover from my 2008 Ice Bowl stock. I have not been approached about helping out with this year's player pack, so I can't help out on what you might get this year. I don't plan on attending tomorrow, although I'd be curious to see what the weather will do to the ground. Wow make sure you either bring extra socks or have something on that is waterproof! That course floods quite a bit and will get very soggy!
the rain that is on the forecast. gonna happen?
I'll let you know tomorrow night. >:D

C-tier event probably no Player pack
I would have to assume that the ice rink on 3 and 4 will be an ocean.
The course was covered with snow to start the day and there was almost no snow by the end of the second round.
Scores?
Or did you take TD lessons from Brian Cummings and David Maccormick?

I agree... where are the scores?
Conditions were terrible... water everywhere and very very windy.. Sprague shot an even first round to give you an idea of the conditions... I think top score first round in open was only -4... I do believe Sprague ended up winning though.
Chris S. won by a stroke. He shot a 53 the second round that is -4 I think he shot a 110 for the day. The 53 was the best score for the second round for everybody there, there were some 54's as well.
Chris B. won Advanced by a stroke. I think he shot a 116 for the day.
Anybody heard from Mr. Jason Rose? Scores ???
If it's anything like Joliet Pros, it will be a while before anything is posted
For some reason, those ratings don't look right.

nothing is posted yet, so if you are looking at scores of course they are wrong.
I would imagine they will be up before the ice bowl.
Scores r up on the PDGA site for the tourney

Jason,
Please submit the TD report. I've had quite a few people asking why they didn't get ratings from this event.
Thanks
Brett

Did you get this in, Jason?

I am going to guess and say that it did not get reported in time seeing as it is not on the PDGA website as such.
agreed - since it still says unofficial results and shows unofficial ratings, the TD report has not been received by the PDGA. The cutoff was 3 days ago, so unless the PDGA is willing to bend the rules on the update, it will not be in.
Is there any disaplineary action for TDs that take too long to turn in a TD report?
they usually make you shoot a round with KVN Lavey

Man someone is worse of a procrastinator than me.
Everytime I see him at leagues or a tournament I tell him he should sacrifice that time and get the stupid report done instead of playing. This is re-freaking-crazy.
Here is Jason's e-mail and phone number so you can remind him.

Players, please stop calling and e-mailing me about the results. Just like i've told everyone else please call or e-mail the TD.
TD reports are due MONDAY JULY 6th!
Unbelievable...
As a TD this is part of your responsibility.
I know who's tournaments I will really think long and hard about playing next year. Even Cummings and Lewis would have had theirs in!
I think the TD report was turned in. I just noticed it is now listed on my player stats. Not sure if it was in time for the Oct 20 ratings update.
That means it will be on the Oct 20 update.
