This will fill on the am-side. We had twice as many ams at our A-tier as PFC is allowing. Shoot we have twice that many ams at an average IOS B-tier or C-tier. Ams should pre-register early. Very early. Maybe yesterday. ;D
Am side is full!
Contact me if you would like to get on the wait list.
Thanks,
Dana
Just kidding. Register early, as Bruce mentioned- this should fill rather quickly!
whens registration gonna start. ???
Dana definitely got me !
I was damn, everyone has been cooped up too long this winter.
But. the reality is still disc golfers are still tight with the cash even
when they know they are going to play.
I'm thinking I could come down and play (donate) but I have not
played any of the courses in that area at all.
That might change if the kid goes to ISU.
Proud member of the PFC club !!!!
Duan- you can send me a check now, registration is officially open. As for the online registration, I'm waiting on Terry to get it up on takeflighttoday.com...keep in mind you can save 5 bucks by registering by mail.

cool the checks in the mail ;D
Hey dana is there any way you can make this event an AM Nats qualifier.. The courses would test the Adv players skills well.. thanks
Maybe, I'll send an email. Thanks for the idea!
Duane, I got your check! Thank you for being the first to pre-register!
Registration is updated on PDGA.com
Thanks to those of you registering early!

Online registration is live and running. Keep in mind that you can register with me, or by mail if you would like.
Thanks!
Dana
Special thanks to Terry Miller for the sweet new online registration site.
being an A-tier this should be a qualifier for next year. The TD for amnats this year says it would be too close to the tournament date for this year. Althtough they are allowing a B-tier (The angry squirel) on the 30th to be a qulifier. figures they would be bias to michigan tournaments.
Player party is in the works, looks like it will be a low cost meal (spaghetti) in the back room of Goodfellas, a bar in Pekin. Tryin to get em to step up and give a free drink as well (soda/pop or beer/drink)!
Please do not hesitate to register, I have a feeling the Am side will be filling pretty quickly!
Any questions, please ask!
It is official, Goodfellas is hosting the player party. They will be presenting McNaughton as part of their sponsorship.
I also received a handful of registrations since the weekend, look for updates to be made to pdga.com. Slowly but surely, the Am field is filling up...
Thanks to those who have pre-registered!
An update for those interested:
-Registrations are starting to pick up on both the am and pro side, so please register early if you are planning on playing.
-The added cash is starting to pile up as well. The PFC has been steadily raising money all winter. We even got the US Army to donate 100 bucks for a score card (all 3 score card sponsorships have been sold).
-The temp holes at Eureka have been designed, they will offer a different challenge than the original 18 holes. They are also very spectator friendly.
-Ams will be getting their moneys worth right off the bat with a GPO custom huk sit, fun bux and a GPO stamped disc.
-For those of you who live in IL, the top finishing MPO player will win the IL rep for the USDGC
Thanks and if you have any questions or comments both negative or positive, please post/ask/email.

That registration website needs a bit more work before it should be used for handling registrations. The account setup page isn't even secured at all, can't comment on the rest of the checkout/payment process.
Haven't had to send a check in a long time!
Taylor,
Your comments and concerns are 100% welcome and encouraged. I will be the first to admit that this site is NOT a completely finished or polished product. I have a long list of minor tweaks and updates that will continue to make this site the premier registration site. In fact, feedback such as yours is exactly what I'm looking for so we can implement upgrades and changes. Also, since I am not the actual programmer I'm kinda held up by how fast they do the updates for me but I assure you - they are on the way.
Just a few of the upgrades in the works include:
- Offering a 'lost password' link.
- Allowing you to enter in information for other players in an easier fashion (ie - a 'roster' format)
- Allowing you to view the prices and details PRIOR to create an account username and password
- Better reporting on back end for TDs that are using it
- Eventually we'd like to work with the PDGA to have player validation
These are just a few things that are on the list. Whatever you have for feedback is also strongly encouraged. I will say this ... we have NOT started any major advertising campaigns or strongly pursued any major events because we do not feel like we are just there yet. So far the site has over 300 registered users and has collected entries for over a dozen events. Once everything is worked out - this will really be the cat's pajamas!
Thanks - Terry

I would definitely make sure that security is taken into account. Any time a user enters personal data into a form, it needs to be on a secure page.
Hey pros- need some more incentive to play?
$50 bounty for a score in the 40s (anything below 50) at McNaughton, from the long tees
*If more than 1 player shoots a sub 50 round, players will split the 50
I may put up an even larger bounty on a course record out there (from the longs)
What would be the best hotel to stay at for the tournament??

I'd probably order, they sound pretty deeelish

What was the winning score in open at the triples tournament from the longs at McNaughton?
Not sure. Pros played a set of Gold tees, while the Am's played the longs. Also, mulligans were used as well...
You can go back to old GPO scores and check out what the top pros would shoot. I think SSA from the longs comes in at around 55-56.
Hey Dana,
For what it's worth - we could add this as an additional $8 item on the pre-registration page so people could just pay for it right away. One huge bonus of my new site is that doing something of this nature would take about 10 seconds and you have access to do it or I could do it for you.
Just some 'food for thought'. Wow - that was something Chuck Kennedy would have come up with.

Taylor- you owe another 5 bucks, your check was only for 60. Sorry if that wasn't clear! Get Tate registered too! And maybe some of your EMDG pals..
I would pitch in the 8 for the sandwich and other stuff!

My bad, do you want me to send you $5 or just catch up with you in the coming couple weeks?
Taylor- you can just give me 5 whenever.
Ryan- I got your PMs, yes we have your registration. Thanks for pre registering!
I talked to a lot of the guys already from MI and unfortunately there is a split day tourney at Albion that same weekend. If that's not bad enough, there is a tourney at Valpo that weekend too which is in the direct route to Peoria.
Just wondering if anyone has a place I can crash or if there are places I can camp at nearby.
Look a page or 2 back, there is an email address for Oldman and Mom- they will let you camp in their yard.
I will be giving 1 MORE WEEK or so for Adv Masters, Adv Women and Pro Women to get a few more players!
So if you know someone in these divisions, tell them to get off their butt and register or we will not have those divisions.
Hey can we still sign up for the advanced division then?
Yes, you can still register. My last post is in regards to having a minimum of 4 players in each division.
Thanks,
Dana

my wife and i will be down there on that Friday. I'm trying to talk her into being my partner, but she is worried people will laugh at her throws cause she doesn't play all that often. sounds fun and a good way for me to actually see/play one of the courses.

I wouldn't worry about it. He owns like five houses in a row that back up to a parking lot with a large lot on the other side. You can camp anywhere along them. I don't know the address off-hand, but if you went to the Bradley DGC park entrance, his house is right next to the restaraunt right across the street, third down maybe.

If you have two spots open this time next week, I'll think about it. I'll let the Illinois players have first dibs on this. ;D
I really think this will be a great tournament. Far better than the one I played or the one I ran that no one played.
If anyone is wondering this is how the pre-reg rule works: If you are pre-reged for a tournament, and then the PDGA comes out with new ratings that would put you in a higher division, and the tournament is within two weeks of the ratings update, then the TD can let you play in the division you pre-reged for. So, if the ratings update bumped you out of Intermediate, then it is up to Dana.
The pre-reg rule is in the competition manual.

This is just my opinion, but...
WEAK!!!!With no Rec. or Novice what is the reasoning behind the decision on shorts? I've played the GPO since 2002, always in Adv. and like I said I have never played the shorts at either course. I'm not trying to start anything here, just giving my opinion. I'm sure it will be a great tourney.
Also, will the temp holes at Eureka be marked at least on Friday so I can see them?
Tafe - maybe you would want to bump to Pro then and take merch in lieu of cash if you want to play longs? I have no say either way and I hear your argument, but your rating is up enough that you could throw your hat in the ring with the Pro's.
If the tees are a deal breaker, given that the tournament is full, I suspect that Dana would give you your money back and sell your spot to someone else.
If it rains or is dewy in the morning, you'll be glad to be on the concrete short tees [unless they now have concrete for the longs, which I have no idea.]
Tafe- Sorry, I know a few ADV guys are disappointed about playing the shorts. The short tees at both courses are pretty fun and challenging. I don't think we'll see any Ams shoot 49 or better at McNaughton shorts.
Temps will be marked at Eureka by Friday, or on Friday. Hopefully we'll have something you can download to help out with navigating them.
Dana,
Just a tip that we found effective on the Rockford Temp Course. I laminated a big # on a regular sheet of paper for marking pin locations. We pounded in 4 foot long sticks and stapled the # to the stakes. We painted the top and bottom of the stake orange making them visible.
How long is the AM waitlist at this time? Peoria is a 2.75 hour drive from Rockford and I don't wanna ride down there on the off chance I might play.
I hear all of you. I really looked into paying more and giving my spot to Pitner, but,,,
It's the same old thing; pay more = get less. Not only would I not get a player's pack, but (thanks for the inference that I would, Scott) I'm not going to cash against THAT field, no way no how. A fellow dg'r with a sub 900 rating played McNaughton to check it out and shot -5 (short), I was hoping for even (long). I hate to see my favorite IL course turned into deuce or die like everything else.
So, this has been handled civilly enough that I have said my peace and will drop it come next weekend, no tuutuu all day Sat. and no spouting off to any that will hear. My mouth will remain shut on this matter for the duration.
Next year, make 'em LONGS!!! Any PDGA member should welcome the challenge.
Are there shorts on Morton #18?
Thanx Dana, see you Friday
I understand your frustration, wanting to play the longs. Although I think you are selling the shorts a little short (no pun intended). SSA from the shorts has ranged from 51-53 from the shorts over the years. A 49 from a sub 900 rated player is pretty hot. Heck, I'd be pretty damn happy shootin a 49.
If I have a say in running things again next year, I will try and make sure ADV gets a crack at the longs.
Thanks for understanding, Tafe. Drive safe and we'll see you this weekend.
There has been heavy radar on Rt. 74 between the Eureka/Goodfield exit and the Morton exit lately. Around Morton they always have speed traps, so if you like to drive fast, be aware of that stretch there!
the spot is actually for my brother, but if he doesn't get in, he doesn't get in - he'll just be helping me with the merch instead. So don't worry about keeping your spot Tafe :)

So just for clarification we are playing McNaughton and Morton in the morning on saturday and then one round at Eureka?
I think it is McNaughton and Northwoods on Saturday, or the opposite depending on your pool, and then 27 holes on Sunday at Eureka with consecutive starts, tee times at hole 1, no shotgun. Probably the lower divisions will tee off first on Sunday.
You can find the tournament information by going to the PDGA.com pre-reg page and clicking on Event Info.
3 rounds.

Morton Sat AM check in ends at 845, player meeting 9
Round 2 TBA at McNaughton
Round 3 is on Sunday at Eureka. Tee time start. You play 1 round of 27 holes. We will start groups off at 8am, starting with INT

Dana,
Any chance you can supply an address for each location, or an address of something nearby each course?
McNaughton- McNaughton Park Rd / Kacy Drive in Pekin, IL (course is at end of McNaughton Park rd)
Eureka- Lake Rd / 117 in Eureka, IL (Park entrance is on Lake Rd., hole 1 is in the lower park area, tournament headquarters is in upper Lake Eureka area. So if you want to go to hole 1, take first entrance and to get to hole 2, go to second entrance)
Morton- Courtland / North Main - from this intersection the park is 1 mile North in Morton, IL
Hope this helps!
Also, weather and mowing schedule pending, temp holes will be marked by Friday. I will post info on how to navigate pretty quick here. Things are starting to really come together nicely. It helps having a full tournament a few days in advance, thats for sure! I do wish that we could accommodate everyone though! (Do I smell a large scale A-tier/NT event for next year?)
Quote from: Tom McManus on May 26, 2009, 02:58:56 PMAny chance you can supply an address for each location, or an address of something nearby each course?
Tom, if you go to the Chicagoland Course Map, click on the desired course, and then click "Get Directions" the coordinates of the first tee (generally) will be displayed on the resultant google map page. For example, Lake Eureka is at 40.7067,-89.2771
To get directions from one course to another, first do the above for the course you are leaving from, copy the coordinates, then pick the destination course and paste the first course's coordinates in the origin box.
Congratulations Dana!! It is awesome to see the GPO coming back towards what it once was back in the day. Very cool to see all these top name pro's back in our state. I only wish Schwebby could be there to defend his course record at McNaughton.
But those touring days with the Winni-Crew, Carolina Crew and the Discraft RV in front of Oldman's house, and the Readings, Brinster/Demark, Shack/Stephens, and Cam Todd/Leslie/Mike Young in the back of his house are LOOONG gone. The good old days, wow I feel old.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR EUREKA SPONSORS!
If you are looking for a quality breakfast on Sunday before your tee time, stop by Lakeview Family Restaurant. It is RIGHT next to the park. Exit Lake Eureka Park by taking a left onto Lake Road and then pull into the parking lot behind the BP. Lakeview is right there.
Make sure you tell em you are from the disc golf tournament!
Also, if you are gassing up, please get gas from CASEYS, which is right across from the park.
For those of you who need a lil booze in ya, right down the road is The Outpost bar and liquor store. Take a left out of the park onto Lake and then take a left onto 117/Main St. Half a mile down the road on your left and you're there.

Awesome, Brett. Dan Nagel and I had a really good response from the local Eureka businesses when we went in asking for sponsorships. To my surprise, Casey's jumped on it.
See you soon all real soon,

Don't forget about our awesome lunches being offered for Saturday. Only 8 Dollars for a gourmet sandwich, cookie and chips! You won't even have to leave the course! It will be waiting for you!
Is there a place to check in on Friday? Where and what time?
Player check in will be Sat AM at your assigned course. Please make sure you are there at the appropriate time.

I would also like to mention that because of the higher cost of the player pack and lower entry fee, the am payouts will not be the strongest around. That is the price we have to pay for having such a nice player pack.
Thank you for understanding,

Are there shorts on Morton #18?
Thanx Dana, see you Friday
I would be willing to bet $50.00 NOBODY shoots 49 in ADVANCE. I will be suprised if ANYONE shoots UNDER par period. It's my BACKYARD, literally 5 minutes away, and not to often do I shoot under par, so for NON LOCALS to come down and do it out of the blue will be very IMPRESSIVE!! Morton shorts I understand it is a pitch and putt, but EUREKA has 2 holes( DON'T KNOW THE TEMPS YET) that are tuff 3's, the rest is easy. Double digits is very gettable in advance. Again, NO IDEA what the 9 temps will be?? So take your even or a couple over at McNaughton's shorts, just make it up later, cause there will be plenty.
And No shorts for Advanced on #18 at Morton.
I will be out at Eureka with Scott Martin Friday afternoon if anyone is coming into town early.
See ya's Saturday.
Thanks for the answer. Like I said I haven't played them ever, so we'll see. I definitely think #9 + #11 are harder from the shorts.
I would've hated to have to look at the tee area on #18 at Morton on the drive in and then have to go off from somewhere else. That is a seriously pretty hole.
See you in a few hours.
Dana,
Where does the first temp at Eureka start?
Brett, I hear its a 165 foot straight uphill by the lakes spillway. A big waterfall will come into play. But my brother was told this Tuesday night at leagues, so don't know how true it is??
Brett-
First temp hole is 285 ft uphill shot, not the 165 one. Tee signs are marked, pads out. First temp is #20- if you are driving into the park towards #1, #20 will be on your left before you get to 1. Hope that helps. Call if you have any problems (this goes for anyone)
815.575.1917
I'll be leaving after I get my mail (11ish), so please do not email or post questions for me on here.
Also, there is a temp hole out sandwiched between 17 and 18 on the permanent course. You play 17 and then hang a right (there are signs) and will play a temp hole, which is being called 18. Original 18 has been changed to 19. I hope that is not too confusing.
Also at Eureka, # 16s basket is going to be extended to 400+. It will not be the wide open field 300 hole.
Thanks and again, I hope that is not too confusing.
Keep an eye out for poison ivy at all of the courses, its out there.
I recommend pants out at Eureka. When you go off the fairway, you get into these weeds that burns and itches up to 2-3 next holes you play, Uncomfortable as hell. Yea it may be 80 degrees, but I will have pants on. Hard to golf with itchy and burning legs. JUST A HEADS UP!

Dana, when will the top card tee off tomorrow?
Barry held off Nikko.
And Dave Nelson CRUISED to his Victory!!!!
Great Job Dave!!!!
what a great weekend. all three courses were nice. i personally liked lake eureka the most. i wanna give thanks to everyone involved. the staff was excellent. sweet chairs also for the players pack. great job to Dana for pulling off an awesome weekend. this was my second a-tier and I've gotten 8th in both(one rec & this one int). thanks again GPO crew.
Congrats to Brett for three solid 1000+ rounds.
WoW I'm exhausted and I didn't even play in this thing! My brother and I rolled back in to town at about 12:15am... we were wiped out. Thanks to everyone from around here that spent their fun bucks on products that I had for sale. That went a long way in helping me have a successful weekend.
Mad props to the PFC for really pulling together to put on an excellent tournament. I think DISContinuum should see it as a challenge to really step up and get more club members involved in pulling together some excellent tournaments.
Thanks Dana for allowing me the opportunity to merch at your event.
Thanks to my brother Keith and everybody that helped me out throughout the weekend.
So had Chris Sprague already qualified for USDGC? Did Brett earn the spot?
Sprague is not on the list of qualified players and his stats do not suggest that he has played a qualifier.
I could be incorrect, but shouldn't Rob Strasser be the player that got the USDGC Invite? He was the highest scoring Pro from Illinois. He dominated the Masters field and would have taken 3rd in Open.
The post from February 2nd states that the invite will go to the highest placing resident of Illinois in the MPO division. So I don't believe Strasser is eligible since he competed in MPM.
Here is the information about the USDGC spot. Congrats to Chris Sprague! $205 was raised with the efforts of the 50/50 CTP at the event. If Chris qualifies at another event his spot will be bumped down to Ben Douglas.

Fantastic event with a fun format. I liked the tee times at Eureka and love the courses. Thanks to Dana and the PFC for all their efforts!!
DISContinuum had a strong showing most notably Diabetic Dave "Double D" Nelson winning Advanced. Hopefully the 6 fly pads and 4 of the temp baskets treated you well at Eureka. Thanks DISContinuum! A big thanks to Tom McManus for hauling them back.
Huge thanks to Discontinuum for 4 baskets and 6 fly pads! Special thanks to Tom and Brett for hauling these items down to Peoria. I think things ran well this year, but I definitely see some things that could be improved.
If you have the time (and feel this way), call the Park Districts and let them know that their parks were in great shape and you really enjoyed spending some time in them this weekend!
Pekin- 309.347.PARK
Morton- (309) 263-7429
Eureka- 309-467-2113
Special thanks to Dan Nagel, Dustin Fee, Tom Austin, Wilken Family, Brian Lucas and Cory Hill, Mark Hariston, Tim Wright Dave Owens, Ashley (my GF who was spotting on 18 at Eureka) and all of our other spotters, helpers and volunteers. I sincerely appreciate all of your support and your strong effort in putting on such a quality event.
I hope those that attended the player party at Goodfellas enjoyed your free drink and $6 dinner. I apologize for being late getting the scores there, it took a little longer than expected to get them entered and to figure out the tee times.
Sandwiches on Saturday were AWESOME. I know they were a tad on the pricey side, but I think it was worth it. These were made at Eaman Patricks, the same place that catered for us Sunday at Eureka. I think it is safe to say that everyone LOVED the food on Sunday.
I'm sure I missed thanking a few people and for that I am sorry. After we had ate pizza and entered scores in Eureka last night my car was dead in the parking lot. We jumped it and I was on my way down the road when it died. Thankfully, Todd was still in town and was able to give me a ride to Pontiac- Thanks, Todd! Well, we get to Pontiac and sure enough, I left my apartment keys in my car. Not surprisingly, since it was after 11pm, my landlord's phone was off. So I ended up ripping a screen window off and got in that way. I'm just glad that the worse thing to happen all weekend happened after the tournament was over.

Brett, are you sure that is how things work regarding USDGC spots? Now, since Sprague is already qualified, he can't qualify at any other events...right?
Since it is a State Coordinator's invitation, Sprague is not qualified until Brett says he is. So Brett can wait until a little bit before the August 30, 2009, State Coordinators' deadline to determine who gets it. So long as Brett does not officially inform the USDGC that Sprague is the Illinois State Coordinator's USDGC player, Sprague has not qualified and can qualify at a qualifier.
Here is a list of the remaining regional qualifying tournaments:
8. High Plains Challenge Fort Morgan, CO June 13 & 14, 2009
9. Minnesota Majestic Minneapolis, MN June 19 – 21, 2009
10. Lower Peninsula Open Kalamazoo, MI June 26 – 28, 2009
11. Brent Hambrick Memorial Columbus, OH July 10 – 12, 2009
12. First Class Challenge Des Moines, IA July 17 – 19, 2009
13. Pittsburgh Flying Disc Open Pittsburgh, PA August 8 & 9, 2009
14. The Vibram Open at Maple Hill Leicester, MA August 14 – 16, 2009
15. Southern National Pro Champs North Little Rock, AR September 5 & 6, 2009
These are the remaining Global Qualifiers:
Stockholm Open Stockholm, Sweden June 25 & 26, 2009
PDGA World Championships Kansas City, Missouri July 27 – August 1, 2009
European Open Tampere, Finland August 27 – 30, 2009
If Sprague were to play one of these and finish in the Top 5 excluding players who have qualified previously, then his spot at the Peoria Open would bump down.

Was it advertised that the top finishing IL resident in the MPO division would win the IL Rep spot at USDGC?
I think he (Sprague) should either accept the spot or decline it and take his chances of qualifying at a later time.

Look above a few posts and follow the link that Brett has in his post. It explains that it is to the top finishing IL player playing in the MPO division.
Serg- I knew the answer to that question.
All I am saying is that we/Brett advertised that it would go to the top finisher, then shouldn't it?
If Sprague now plays a USDGC qualifier and finishes in the top 5 not yet qualified he is going to accept that spot and then turn down the already accepted IL spot? What about that next person in line that would have qualified if Sprague was already qualified? If I finished right behind him at the qualifier tourney and that happened to me, I would be pissed.
I am going to pay and secure the spot tonight.
Although I did not envision this scenario I think it is a good one. The more Illinois players that get down to the USDGC the better. I am rooting for Chris Sprague to qualify at another event opening the door for Ben Douglas. As much as i'd like to go I cannot. If Chris doesn't qualify elsewhere he's guranteed a spot. That has to feel good.
Congratulations to Eric Fite of Joliet. Eric won a Discontinuum grab bag CTP at the GPO.

How could you not envision this scenario? One of the first things that popped into my head was, "Oh, I hope Sprague qualifies before the GPO." Then, "well I wonder if he would accept it or let someone else have it?"
I would love to see more IL players at the USDGC, especially someone like Ben.
Ok, now that I'm thinking about it more I'm starting to see it a little differently(thanks D-Fee).
Since this spot was given away so early in the year, we are treating it as a list...?
If you qualify by Aug 1(or whatever the date is), you are taken off of the list and the spot bumps to the next person.
If you are #1 or at the top of the list and do not qualify, the spot is yours.
1 Chris Sprague
2 Ben Douglas
2 Brett Comincioli (auto decline)
4 Todd Fanning
5 Jordan Merriman

That is correct.
If Sprague does not play any other qualifiers and accepts the IL Rep Spot all this discussion was irrelevant.
My fault, I didn't see it as "creating a list" at first. Maybe next year you can advertise it that way next time.
(In no way am I or was I mad at Brett, Sprague or anyone, I hope I did not come across that way. Brett has done an amazing job as IL State Coordinator. I'm extremely thankful that we have him here in IL guiding us through these years of huge disc golf growth in IL. I honestly can't imagine anyone else as state coordinator).

It's all good Dana and no way did I see your posts as negative. Thanks for the kind words.
I still have some extra of the GPO huk sits left.
email me vicich@gmail.com if you're interested
I'll give deals if you purchase multiple chairs.
sent you an email dana

So I still have a question...(I know I'm not from Illinois so why should it matter):
Is Sprague's name going in as "qualified" or are you waiting? If his name goes in then at any other qualifier he would be jumped and the qualifying spot given to another person who hadn't already qualified...Follow me?
By the way, Lauren had posted some really nice pictures of the GPO on her facebook page. Not sure if there is a way to post some of them elsewhere but she did a great job. Little upset I missed this one.

I have paid for the spot using my name like i've done in the past. I've noted that a player will be determined so to them Sprague has not qualified. Since it's my decision to do what I want with the spot there is nothing wrong with this decision. I could use it myself, sell it on EBAY, etc.... My goal is to get as many players from Illinois play as possible. I'm hoping Sprague qualifies elsewhere so Ben Douglas gets to experience the event.
How about those amazing scorecards that Dave Owens had for us at GPO? I have never seen anything like that before. Talk about going above and beyond! Make sure you let Dave0 know next time you see him how much you loved his scorecards.
I'll try to get back to the ppl who emailed about chairs- there were a bunch of em! I wont be cutting deals, just because so many people wanted them (I need the $ to help pay for my car to get fixed).

I thanked Dave on Sunday. Those scorecards were very impressive. With 27 holes on Sunday there was an opportunity for people to mess up the scores. I think that the scorecards helped to keep people from making a mistake.

They are unlike anything that I have seen in the past. The card was for 27 holes, there was a cut out in the middle, and it had to be folded over from the top to mark the scores for the last nine holes. At first the guys were flipping over the cards to see the names, but it wasn't necessary to do so. It just had to be folded over. Fold over the side for the second nine, and fold over the top for the third nine.
I am sure the above explanation is clear as mud, but they were great cards. I think Dave Owens checks out the Discontinuum site once and a while. Maybe he card provide a better explanation.
Attached is a VERY simple representation of the fantastic scorecards. The Saturday card had a single flap with a portion cut out (the dashed line area in the picture) - you put your scores for the front 9 on there, total it up by placing the total in the spot marked F. Then you fold the flap on top of the card. The cut out portion reveals only your added up total for the front 9 and leaves the space to put the total score (T). On the back of the card was a course map. I can't remember what other stuff was there - sponsor info probably, maybe some of the OB. VERY awesome job.
With the Sunday card, there was an additional flap that was on the top that still left that hole open to write your total score, but you could also see the front nine, middle nine, and then back nine totals all together. I didn't get to see those cards as closely, but they looked really neat. I heard Mom talking about how cool they were and how easy it was for the scoring.
Well done Dave O :)
I had a blast the entire weekend.
This was hands down the nicest tournament I've ever been to.
Keeping with the topic of score cards, they were ridiculously nice, I was really blown away by the whole weekend.
I could go on forever, but I just want to say thanks to everyone, especially Dana, who made this event possible!!
Ryan
Jon,
I made them, but I am pretty ignorant as to how to describe them. I can send you a Mental picture..... :-X .....There, did you get it?...Since you probably didn't, (My aim is off...right now someone in Muncie indiana has some weird image of a really cool score card in there head, and they don't know why) I'll bring a copy of them, and a copy of the file with me to IOS #2 I made them on an Excel spread sheet. I also have a few ideas of how to improve them. (especially the 27 hole jobber).

WHOOPS!
It took a week for me to realize it, I guess its better late than never. I'll be calling the top ADV finishers here in the next day or so...
