Hope to see many of you out there. Spring is just around the corner.
I will be out at the Club Challenge this Saturday. It's a good time to pre-register for this tournament (or Scott's Channy tourney or Brett's Chicagoland Am tourney). Lots of fun tournaments coming up. Don't miss out.
Pre-registration only! Only three more weeks until this event.
I have the first place trophies done. If you are planning on playing in a one of the other divisions not shown below, please pre-register so I can get the trophy made.
Sent my registration today. Looking forward to playing this course again.
All I want to do is beat Dan M. at this event. So i have to play well, at least second to last place.

To reward those that are willing to pre-reg before the 10 day forecast starts predicting the weather for the Spring Fling, I will draw at least one name from those pre-registered by April 6 (either online or by postmark). The winner will receive a Marshall Street DVD.
Multiple players have requested the Advanced Grand Master Division. I have now added it to Sunday.
I will be out at Eagle Ridge Good Friday morning working on the course til about noon. It would be a great time to hand me your pre-registration.
The following Google Map link shows the course map for the Oswego Spring Fling. Shorts are in red, longs are in blue. The alternate tee/pin location for 3 and (if needed) 13a are shown. For hole 3, I flagged and painted the pin and the short tee location. The long tee will either be the limestone tee box or an area near there.

Mike,
What's the format - one round shorts and one long for all divisions? Sunny with highs near 70 later this week :hello2:
The plan is first round shorts, second round longs. Hole 3 will be in an alternate position (about 40 ft SW of the current pin) and the short/log tees will be moved. This should help prevent discs from going into the fenced township yard to the North. The location of the short tee and the alt pin location are painted/flagged. There *might* be a 13a, but that is only if I need it to speed play. I have posted other course notes on the Fox Valley Metro Site.

beautiful day today. alot of little knat like bugs at 1st, but after a few holes i think everyone pretty much ate the majority of them. im definitely gonna have to shoot the longs one round every time i go to oswego for the practice from now on.
thanks to all involved
The longs are really challenging. Wish I had this course closer to home.
Nice work on the trophies Mike. They turned out really nice.
Excellent job Mike & crew for such a great event. The weather was awesome and the course looks great.
Another big thanks to Scott Pitner of Paper or Plastic Sports. Without Scott an event like this is not possible. Buy your plastic from local supporters of disc golf!

I'll post more tomorrow, but I am tired, muddy and wet. Ok, mabe no longer the last two.
Excellent job on Saturday. Things ran very smoothly. The Oswego Course is coming along very nicely. Well done job by Mike running the event and Scott handling the merch. The weather was great on Saturday. It didn't appear to be that way yesterday. Nice shooting by MT yesterday, those are some fine scores in those conditions.
I would have like to seen Alt 13A, maybe next year.
For those of you who didn't make it, you missed out on a good one.
Thanks for running a great event Mike.
was sunday played from the shorts both rounds?
No second round was from the longs.
what was par for the second round then if it was longs both days? cause on saturday its 55 and sunday its 54 according to the scores posted.
My guess is that they made hole 16 a par 4 on Saturday, but not on Sunday. The layout may have been slightly different between the two days as we played the long tee on hole 9 both rounds and the short tee on 8 both rounds.
yeah hole 9 gets crazy in the rain. i remember playing in the oswego flood last fall and we almost needed a boat for some holes ;D. i was wondering how that hole was gonna be played yesterday.
I'll fix par for Sunday R2 when I get home after lunch. It should have been 55 for the second round. The layouts were slightly different as Taylor posted (short 8 and long 9 both rounds).
Randy Jr's PDGA number is missing too which will have an affect on the ratings as well.
Jr is a new member so he'll have no effect on ratings.
First off, thank you to everyone that helped pull this thing off. The course looked great thanks to John Tiffany, Tree, Tafe and others from Fox Valley Metro. Blaine nice work on the circles. I'm not a jump putter so I could care less about them, but I admit they add a nice touch. The Oswego Park Distrit crew was out Friday laying down wood chips and filling in some of the limestone pads. Without park distict support, we'd have no where to play. Help them out by keeping the course clean and giving them a Thank you when you see them. Checkin ran smoothly with Mike Owen, Christie Schepp, and even my daughter helping out. There are many others Tyler, Taylor, Tafe, Mike Isabell, Adrian Sr, to name a few (I know there are others) that helped in little ways. Scott and Paper or Plastic Sports had a nice spread of Merch. Discontinuum provided the fly pads. I'm sure many knees and ankles thank you.
This was my sophomore tourney, but the first with Am registration and payouts. Thanks to those that were willing to give a new TD a shot at running this kind of tournament. Hopefully it was the kind of tournament that you'll come back to play again. I have many thoughts on how things went, what I forgot, what I need to do better and will be posting some observations on the Discontinuum TD corner when I get a chance to organize them. If you have any feedback that would help improve the tournament, send me a pm. I'd like to include them in my post-mortem (I might not respond directly to them, but I will think about them).

New member or hasn't renewed yet this year? I thought he was some like 980 rated as of last year? If he renewed this weekend, then the rounds would count on the May update as ratings accrued between updates will still count for new/updated registrations.
Like the Oswego course, thanks for holding an event there. Would have liked to have seen Friday or Saturday's weather on Sunday!
When I run events I look up every members # even if they are not current and add them to the results. Alex Bingman like Randy Jr have ratings.

Jr. is 30974 rating on line is 980.
Bingman 4803 rating on line 964.
Renewal. Dang web site couldn't find Moore Jr when you enter Moore. The only rating change was +1 on R1 after putting in his (and Bingman's) PDGA #. btw. I appreciate those of you out there with an eye for this kind of detail. It helps making sure things are right when the tourney goes in as Official Results.
Friday was sweet weather. I got my round in on Friday. While I was out there Friday, I kept thinking, "I should be holding the tournament today." :-)
I do intend on getting everything official by May 2 so that the Spring Fling makes the May update.
