Help!
When Kyle and I were playing football in H.S., the real Rudy came to our locker room before a game against our cross-town rivals and gave us this stirring speach about having heart and how he had faith in us and knew we could pull out the victory and blah blah blah. He then went next door into the opponents locker room and gave them the same speach word for word..ya gotta love thin walls and air vents! Then we saw the footage of his one shining moment and he was like one of 8 guys to hit the QB as he was going down...gotta love Hollywood.
Oh Yeah!! Muppets in Space was a REALLY funny movie. I was surprised how funny that was. It might be my favorite Muppet movie.
Star Wars (classic trilogy)
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Memento
L.A. Confidential
Requiem for a Dream
Tombstone
Young Frankenstein
Dead Poets Society
Frankenstein (original B&W version)
I'm sure there are more I can't think of right now.
This list could be long, but here are two:
Mermaid (this movie is the source for Maddisen's name, although not the spelling)
Field of Dreams (if I built it, it would have at least 24 baskets and a "disc house")
RUDY rocks, man! You know what makes for a great double feature? Rudy and All the Right Moves. (although I'm torn as to which one to watch first)
By the way, Rudy DVD special edition (2 discs) is coming out September 30th!
Fandango--Great road trip movie
QuoteJim (09-08-2003 01:56 p.m.):
Lion in Winter
...ah, so that's where Jim gets that haggard Peter O'Toole look....
...or maybe it's that badly-tooled Merle Haggard look...
Actually, that is a terrific movie, and is pretty close to the play it's based on, incidentally...
That and just about anything w/ Katharine Hepburn would be on my list.
"The Hustler" and just about anything w/ Paul Newman.
The Great Escape
The Godfather - even the mangled trilogy they show on Bravo all the time
Blazing Saddles
O Brother Where Art Thou
200 Motels
...and movies that are simply so bad that they're entertaining, like "The Benny Goodman Story", starring Steve Allen - this was once termed 'probably the worst movie ever made' - by Steve Allen.
...Reefer Madness
...The Gene Krupa Story - apparently inspired by Reefer Madness
QuoteJim (09-08-2003 05:48 p.m.):
You know, Damon......... I want to play in your group at Parkside Sunday. :)
"Reefer Madness" is also known as "The PDGA Discussion Board"....
Jim, I won't be at Parkside Sunday. I will be on Saturday though. You a little delirious from penicillin or something?
I should point out that thanks to Adrian I've got tag #26, so hell, I'll play with *anybody*...
oh here are a few more...
Love and Death
Cuckoo's Nest
Brother from Another Planet
Eraserhead
Patton
Night at the Opera
Do the Right Thing
'za Wonderful Life
Showgirls (naw, just kidding...)
QuoteJim (09-09-2003 10:13 a.m.):
'Eraserhead', huh? That explains a LOT!
".....oh my....you really *are* sick....."
In no particular order:
Star Wars Trilogy (First 3 Movies)
Blade Runner
Slapshot
The Shawshank Redemption - even though it's on TNT every other week!
Groundhog Day - when I saw this movie for the first time, it was at the theater in the town square in Woodstock IL where the movie was filmed. The theater is actually seen in the movie when Bill Murray is dressed up as a cowboy. He had a bad case of deja-vu, and I felt like I walked into the movie when I exited the theater!
