I just wanted to put it out there that registrations are already starting to pour in for this event. In the past few days I have taken more than a dozen registrations.
As always, you are welcome to mail them into me with my address being 360 Park Hill Drive, Unit E, Pewaukee, WI 53072 or you can get it taken care of online. That site is www.iRegisteredOnline.com
Here is Saturday's existing list (18 as of 5/5/09):

Here is Sunday's existing list (7 as of 5/5/09):
http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8796
I'm thinking about adding a Novice division on Sunday as well. As always, I'll offer any additional divisions that are not shown assuming we get at least 4 people to play in that new division.
Is there anything specific we make our checks out to? or just to you Terry?
Yes sir,
Please just make the checks out to Terry Miller. Address is 360 Park Hill Drive, Unit E, Pewaukee, WI 53072 (so you don't have to search for it).
I will also provide this nifty little teaser - I am currently working the a player's pack item that has never been given away before at tournament. The manufacturer is pushing really hard to make it happen so I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well. I'll say that it is one of the most unique player's pack item anyone has ever seen and I could give 100 guesses and I don't think anyone would come up with it.
Hopefully more to come on that later.
I'm also working on a few other event details. The County Parks Department and our club have a good relationship. Hopefully they come through for us with this event as well. .
Thank you to everyone that is getting signed up in person, via mail, or online. It doesn't hurt my feelings to not use my online registration (www.iRegisteredOnline.com). I just ask that you 'git-r-done' one way or another!

Can't wait! 8)
Although it will cost a bunch of money - we have secured BOTH Dretzka Park & Brown Deer Park for this year's Greater Milwaukee Open!
Seriously - how does it get better than this? Order of rounds and pin placements are not finalized but I can promise you this - everyone will play one round at Dretzka and one round at Brown Deer!
Player's meeting is at Dretzka regardless of division or which course you're playing first ... again, player's meeting is at Dretzka at 9 am on each respective day.
Get registered immediately!
Also, the Greater Milwaukee Open will be 1 of the 3 part series to qualify for the WI USDGC Representative Spot. More details to come within the next day or two. The long and short is that the GMO, Badger State Games, and Mad City Open will be the qualifiers as we take your best 2 of 3 point earnings from those events. Again, more details to come soon.
Thanks,
Here is Saturday's existing list (32 as of 5/11 which is up from 18 as of 5/5/09):

Here is Sunday's existing list (13 as of 5/11 which is up from 7 as of 5/5/09):

I looked on the website but could not find the Entry Fee for Intermediate Men. Can somebody help me out?
Saturday's Divisions:
$60 Open
$50 Pro Masters
$50 Pro Grand Masters
$50 Pro Women
$50 Advanced Men
Sunday's Divisions:
$40 Advanced Masters
$40 Advanced Grandmasters
$30 Advanced Women
$30 Intermediate Men
$30 Intermediate Women
$30 Recreational
$30 Novice
$20 Juniors (16 and under)
** Just added - Novice. I have never offered a Novice division before and wasn't planning on it but I thought I'd give it a chance. There is a pretty sweet player's package that would eat up all of the entry fee if I had it any cheaper so in order to have some prizes, I made the Nov and Rec divisions each $30.
If you register online for this event it will be $5 more than what is seen above.

Am I missing a division that you and at least 3 other buddies qualify for? You round up the people and I'll create the division. That is true for almost all of my events.
Thanks!

Log in and its in the drop down menu under "Level".
One small glitch they still haven't fixed on my site is the fact that you must create a username and login in order to see the prices for events. THIS WILL BE CHANGED at some point but for people that don't want to create a username and password just for that purpose, I figured it would be easiest to just post the actual amounts. I have no idea why my programmers thought this would be a good way to set it up initially but like I said, it will eventually get changed so you can view event prices without having an account already in place.
Thanks guys,
Ter

Just thought I'd point out that the Milwaukee Open is also an Am Nationals qualifier. I'm on the Am Nationals e-mail list. This is the latest from the TD:
QuoteThings are starting to get close. Players are regging. We are all but out of Buzzz glowee's but still have the Cryztal Buzzz color change plastic. We are sending out the second round of invites though the pdga.
Player package is awesome - discs, towels, mini, polo shirt with two emblems, their picture on a Buzzzz. 7 meals. Great times ahead. Pass it on.
It is important to us if you last 10 or so event Td's can pass on phone numbers or e-mails of your qualifiers to me. Other than your announcements it will be the only way of contacting those who qualify. Thanks for your help here.
If someone wants to try and buddy up for the trip and room but does not know of someone in their area, we can help with this.
This will be the next to last e-mail to all you Td's and I would like to truly thank all those that helped me gather info. Hope to see some of you at the USADGC this year and make sure to stop by and say hi.
Just a reminder, you have to play Advanced to qualify. This is the math for how many qualify: Top 20%, rounding up to include the fractional player. That many qualify, skipping over players who qualified elsewhere, and including all players tied for the last qualifying spot.
This event is great for trying to qualify for Nats. I wont be missing this tourney. Im already qualified for nats.. side note last year i think i finished 24th place and qualified, so come qualify...
yeah matt im going to really try. But hey if i qualify would grayson and i be able to car pool with you maybe?
As a side note - if you want to play am nats, but didn't qualify, come out the day before and play a round. The standards for qualifying seem to change every year and until it starts to fill, they won't turn away people that want to pay to qualify.
And on that second note, if you have ever wanted to play that course, do it. It's awesome, it's an ass kicker and you will have fun regardless of how you play. It may not be there every year.
we got a full car as of now.. but if you guys wanted to take your own car and stay at the same hotel that would be cool.. thats what we did last year we had two cars and two hotel rooms... let me know
Brown Deer and Dretzka are two of the finest courses in all of Wisconsin and everyone gets to play one round at each for this event. Get yourselves registered!
Looks like we'll have custom Discraft and custom Innova discs for the event. Also, that super secret item yet! You will not be disappointed with the player's package for this event. Not that I hope you ever are with any of my events but this one should be unique (as claimed before).

This should be a great event. Two very fun courses. Terry, how many holes will we be playing at Dretzka?
Great question Tom,
Keeping in mind the 10-15 minute commute from one course to another as well as two pretty challenging layouts, we'll just be playing 18 at Dretzka. I know playing 27 would be nice but I want to keep the day moving along. It will be a long enough day that way. If we were only going to be at Dretzka for the day then it would have been 27.
2 more registrations came in over night. Time to finalize my Innova order. Can you say ECHO STAR DRIVERS? Boo ya.

Can't wait, I think we are going to head up there this Sunday and play some rounds.
I don't think I've been to either of these courses.
They are both good courses, well worth the drive.
When do you anticipate the baskets to be in tournament locations? Still not sure if I'm going to be able to play but I'm working on it!

For Advanced (MA1) players on Saturday, the GMO is an Am Nationals Qualifying event. You have to think that the top few guys in that division are pretty good and probably close to being professionals. Well, if you are going to play Am Nationals or going to soon turn pro wouldn't it be nice to have a brand new portable basket to practice on?
Here is my offer ... if we can get 90 players to compete in the advanced division on Saturday, May 23rd at this year's Greater Milwaukee Open, I'll go ahead and give away a brand new, metal, portable basket. Most likely it will be a Chainstar with a portable wheel base to it.
So that's my challenge to you all. Round up 90 advanced players on Saturday then go out and win the division and claim your title, your basket, and your invite to the US Am Nationals!
Again the offer of this basket is only valid if we get 90 advanced players (or pretty darn close to 90 anyway). And for what it's worth - anything less than 80 is not considered to be close enough).
Just signed up today should be a great time.
I will probably be signing up Bingman by the end of the week too. I dont see anywhere on the pre reg website to leave you a comment so I figured I would just tell you here. So if you see a Pro Master pre reg come in from me its for the Rifleman.
Wow - registrations continue to pour in. We are just 1 week short of the event and here are the latest numbers:
60 competitors for Saturday: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8797
27 competitors for Sunday: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8796
Don't get shut out of this event!
If you wish to mail in your registration you can send your name, e-mail, PDGA number, division, and check made to Terry Miller, 360 Park Hill Drive, Unit E, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
As posted from the start - LATE FEES START THURSDAY NIGHT
can i prereg online or is it only by mail?
nevermind sorry, didnt look at first page.
Man Dretzka was slammed packed yesterday. Brown deer was awesome and tough as hell.
The pin positions seemed a mix at Dretzka? Will the pin locations change at Brown Deer?
Due to the weather we are still waiting on finalizing the pin placements. It has been brutal here and we are trying to get the best layout mixed with the best flow mixed with the driest spots mixed with the most fun. I hate that I can't announce those details just yet but we really must see what happens in the next 72 hours of weather. I promise you this - you will have a good time on both courses!
Did I mention that we continue to get pounded with registrations? Between online, in person, and mail in registrations I think I collected about 24 just today alone!

35 competitors for Sunday: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=8796

The weather may not be the best right now, but it certainly looks like it is going to be a great weekend. The forecast for both days looks outstanding.
I had 10 online pre-registrations come in between 2AM (when I went to bed) and 8AM (the time I was done feeding and dressing my 7th month old).
This is going to be one BIG event! Great competitor forecast along with a great weather forecast!

This was a great weekend. Two well run tournaments on two very tough and well kept courses. Nice player packs both days and lots of ctps on Saturday and giveaways on Sunday. I think that the return on the initial cost of the event was great. Getting a disc, a mini, a sticker, and a pair of socks for a $30 entry fee is a good value. Everything else is a bonus. CTPs, trophies, and prizes. Besides the nice player packs there were additional giveaways after the round. A full day of fun for $30, an excellent value.
Pre-reg is the way to go. It seems to run much smoother and makes it a nice tourney experience for all involved competitor's, staff, and directors. As far as the scores Barry shooting a 47 at Brown Deer and a 49 from the longs at Dretzka is unreal.
There were very nice personalized trophies given out the day of the event to the top competitors. That is something special.
Scores posted the same day, overall a great experience.
Terry- thanks to you and all your helpers for the hard work. The 2009 GMO was a great event.
Terry, thanks for a great event. I can only echo Tom's words.
THAT'S the way to offer personalized trophies!!! Have them completed and ready to present during the awards ceremony! Thanks to you and your crew for having the vision, talent, and resources to pull this off. Great job by the photographer in the care he took to present each person very favorably, and to frame the shot so well within the custom border. Please pass on my thanks and props.
Milwaukee is a tourney I look forward to every year. Dretzka is a classic course. Glad we got to play Brown Deer as well. Both courses were in excellent shape for the tournament.
Nice job on the successful event this weekend Terry. Over 200 players this weekend. It was a good time. The trophies were really an awesome idea that turned out fantastic. Thanks!
