Has anyone played this course recently? I know that 16 & 17 are back open again with the construction out of the way. Just curious how bad the rough is on 16. I'm considering just playing 16 to 17's basket again for the sake of no backups. I'm hoping to get out to the course either during the evening this week or the weekend.
I'll be adding a similar hole to the 8A that I had last year so that things flow better instead of walking down the fairway of the hole you just played. I'm also considering making short and long tees for the temp hole, we'll see.
this looks fun, but i'll be at alpine valley both days watching the band Phish. i need to get to the joliet area and play the courses. i've heard they are nice.

16 is thick, but there's still a definite window there.
The 'teepads' are generally a mess, though. There might be 7 or 8 holes that are anywhere near tournament-quality, and that's only if it's not wet.... :P
I'll agree with Damon, he's right about the teepads, they are pretty bad out there, even on the dry days.
i was out there last night, and the people playing dubs seemed to handle them ok without much complaint. I think I was talking with Hutter last night and he mentioned wanting to work on clearing up a few of them before the tournament.
Should be good times :)
Eric - if you're in the area or if you play, I still have a disc of yours that was turned in to me. Let me know if you're going to be there, and I can make sure to pack it in my stuff.
Flier for West Park is attached. Pre-Reg closes in one week. Save up to $5 if you pre-reg!
Reminder that Pre-Reg closes Friday night! The forecast is looking pretty good for the weekend, hopefully it will stay mostly dry on Friday in order to make sure the course is in good shape. I'll be out there Friday night to check everything out in case any changes to course routing need to be made (unlikely).
scott did you get Javier Rodriguez and Grayson Dewey pre-reg? thanks

Yep, I have both of you up on the PDGA page registered for Advanced.
Thanks for the pre-reg!
19 people signed up Saturday and 12 so far for Sunday.
muddy, muddy, muddy
I'm watching this storm like a hawk. I was told that the tees for 3 and 4 and 11 are not that hot, so I'll have to check them out and make a game time decision. Some rain might have passed over Joliet last night, but so far the storms that are hitting today have most of the heavy stuff staying north of I-88. That doesn't mean that Joliet won't get some more rain today, but every hour that goes by with little to no rain is going to be very helpful.
The forecast for this weekend is great though, so I think we'll be good to go! Pre-Reg is up to date, about 30 on Saturday and 20 on Sunday so far - and I know a ton of the Sunday players will come out on Saturday to pre-reg, that happened last year - and I wound up with more people playing Sunday than Saturday.
Online pre-reg closes this evening.
It's sure gonna be slippery for everyone who's playing in that today.
the hot, hot sun dried up this course pretty stinking quick, I was impressed! There is still certainly some muddy spots, but I'm certainly pleased.
61 players today - Buddy Sloan took 1st in Advanced, Scott Coyne won in a playoff to take Rec. I'm working on getting the scores entered now.
Saturday scores are posted!

I updated the sunday pre-reg list. We're up to 36 players now for Sunday - that's how many I had going in Saturday and wound up with 61 players. I would expect similar Sunday. The course should be a lot drier on Sunday! It was looking pretty good by the end of the day today.
Sunday scores are posted, thanks everyone for coming out!

I realized that I didn't update the rounds from Saturday to say that the two rounds played from different tees 1st and 2nd round. The round ratings might change slightly.
Thanks to Scott, Adrian, & Stan for all the hard work this weekend!
Personalized trophies will be sent out to the winners at some point this week with a background photo of one of the holes on the course courtesy of Lauren Lakeberg, thanks Lauren!
Props to Scott for keeping the gatorades and waters stocked. I must have had at least 7 myself. It was sticky out there.
TD Reports are in, ratings will be included for the next PDGA update.
Tournament trophies will be distributed this weekend at Sinnissippi, and mailed out the following week for those who don't make it out to the tourney.
