Title: Wow lots of new plastic hitting Monday
Post by: stpitner on June 05, 2009, 12:24:19 PM
Yikes,  It's getting tougher and tougher to order all of this plastic and keep it all in stock!

Innova hit at the beginning of the month with the R-Pro Hydra (yes, it still floats).

On June 8th they are hitting with the R-Pro Boss (150g-165g) and the R-Pro Skeeter.  It's going to be interesting to see what happens between the R-Pro vs. FLX ESP.  I wouldn't be surprised if R-Star hits within a year or two.  What was that disc that was givin away at the Peoria Open?  Something like an R-Pro Aviar with WOOD CHIPS in it???  Craziness.

So now Discraft responds with their own releases:
The ESP Cyclone hits June 8th
STOCK FLX Drones hit June 8th.

So I guess this month I'm going to have to order from both companies - yowza.  So uhm... yeah... pre-reg for West Park June 20th-21st so that I can afford all this stuff lol ;)

You'll probably sell a lot of FLX Drones on-line, but they didn't move fast at IOS 2.

The ESP Cyclone will be another slow seller in Illinois, and a flash-in-the-pan on-line fad.  At the end of the day, it is still a Cyclone.  The Cyclone is great for what it is, a slower, reliable driver, but the fad in disc golf right now is everyone throws drivers that are two speeds faster than their arm.  I've sold a steady stream of three Z Cyclones a year for four years.   ;D  A lot of players could benefit from throwing slower, more reliable drivers -- Feldberg loves his Eagles -- but you'll sell more Red Bull than Vitamin Water to disc golfers.

R-Pro Hydra?  Does anyone throw a Hydra?  Why would that be their third R-Pro model?

The R-Pro Boss will sell fast.  Order 100.  I'm not kidding.

The R-Pro Skeeter should sell like the Star Skeeter that sells like, hmmmm, the Hydra?

;D  :)  :D

This is what I honestly think, with a little humor, but what do I know?

if I was only doing tournaments, I probably wouldn't even order the R-Pro Skeeter or R-Pro Hydra.  There's a small market for them online, so as long as I don't go overkill, it goes ok.

Yeah, cyclones - I know one guy that's looking for a pink Cyclone, but it's probably a super old mold that he wants.  Other than that ... well, he's the only one that I know looking for a Cyclone.

R-Pro Boss will be available by the handfuls hopefully starting at West Park :)
