Title: Looking for Anhyzer discs
Post by: fathergod on June 12, 2009, 12:35:25 PM
Anyone have a suggestion?   I've been looking at the Element from Gateway but I haven't tried throwing one.

are you thinking driver, midrange, both?

Every disc is an anhyzer disc.  Anhyzer is the angle of the disc at the time of the release.

You are probably looking for an understable disc.  Here's a good list:

In Discraft:

Stratus
Comet
Impact
Meteor
Glide
Avenger SS [The SS is important.  It is a different disc from the Avenger.]
XL
150 Surge

In Innova [I'm not as good with Innova]

Skeeter
Coyote
Roadrunner
Sidewinder
Valkyrie
Viking

For Innova Mid-Ranges you'd probably want the Stingray or Kite.  For Drivers I wouldn't recommend the Valkyrie and Viking as much as I agree with Bruce's recommendations of Roadrunner and Sidewinder.  You can also try the Leopard for more of a fairway driver that is easy to throw for an anhyzer.

Discraft's Elite-X Stratus is a good one, so is their Glide and Impact.

If you want to try out Gateway: check out their Assassin driver.

the avenger ss is a good driver to start with it turns easy without much force on it. for mid range try a dx coyote, it turns with little effort.

Stingray
Leopard

I forgot those.  It is what they threw before there were Sidewinders, Roadrunners and Valkyries.  I used to throw a Stingray for a roller.

If you're looking for something that will volunteer to turn nothing beats the Sidewinder. You can get some great glide on that with a little bit of a hyzer release and a little snap. It is not for the player that is throwing with a lot of snap unless they are looking for something that will roll after a hyzer release.

The understable discs I carry

For mids a Glide, Comet and Meteor
Drivers I have an Xpress and an ESP Avenger SS, both great for rollers too

The Leopards work really well for control shots as well.

Archangel from Innova
I've only thrown a DX version (which I think is really the only one in production). Easy to throw and once it beats in it gets even better.
