I'm lookin into gettin an r-pro boss, should I? I can throw a wraith 167 completely straight around 325' and am lookin into gettin a destroyer. Should I get the r-pro boss, anyone thrown it? What weight should i throw for the r-pro boss?

I've not thrown it, but do throw alot of Champ Bosses.
If you decide to get a Boss, just know that its most likely going to be very overstable. Not sure if thats what you are looking for.

I know it's very overstable, the r-pro lighter boss should be easier than the other ones to throw tho cause it's light right?
Not necessarily. Dave Dunnipace mentioned on the PDGA.com Ask Dave thread that the 167 Champion Bosses were some of the most overstable of the run. In the Bosses stablility has more to do with the dominess and the angle of the wing rather than weight.
I threw a 140g R-Pro Boss and it flipped pretty easy (and right now I can't throw more than 300 on a good day - I throw maybe 275 mostly straight with my 166g Star Wraith). They do bang up pretty quickly - more like DX, but when it's that soft you have to expect it.
If you want something that's going to have more hyzer to it, I'd go either light Star Destroyer, or if you want the cheaper option and still try out the R-Pro Boss, something like a mid-150's R-Pro.

I meant Champ but I was confused. Dave said Star. Whichever, heavier is not necessarily more overstable.

i picked up a 150 rpro boss and did a stand still throw(right hand/ backhand) with little force and it flipped right easy and went far, but gets beat up very easily. i would say its under stable.
Thanks guys, I tried Tom McManus's R-Pro Boss 157 at warren today and threw it like twice. On 1 of the throws I tried an S Curve and it ended up straight from where i was standing Prob little over 300, maybe little more. Didn't get to try it enough to compare to my other drivers to know if I should get 1 tho. W/e I'll get some sweet discs at IOS#3 from Scott either way. ;D
i have a star boss 167 and a r pro boss 160 and i would say the star is alot more overstable then the r pro. But my r pro is still overstable and i can't get it to flip or s curve at like. If u smash a few trees it will be beat up pretty bad doesn't hold up nearly as good as pro plastic should.
Try adding some anhyzer to it. I normally can't throw a boss but this disc rocks and is so easy to throw. It does tend to die hard at the end though.
I won a 150 r-pro Boss at Saukville for a CTP. As we all know, I I have Jamie Moyer like speed on my delivery. I normally throw a 167 valk 240-250. I throw this thing pretty consistantly 290+. I have only thrown it about a half dozen times. I got 4 on 19 at Madison Meadows using the Boss on the tee shot. It went straight as an arrow with a flat release with only the slightest fade at the end of the flight. I love this thing but will not throw it if there are any trees on the radar as they appear pretty flimsy.
Agreed about it looking like it will self destruct. I had it skip off a walking path and thought the bottom was gonna be shredded but it held up pretty good.
I need to try one of these things. I've never heard so many people hype up a disc, there must be something to it.

It basically lets people who couldn't throw a boss before, be able to throw one now. I don't think it gets the same distance though. I think this will get more people throwing the R-pro instead of the Groove
The r-Pro truly beats up *really* quick, as I was warned. I got a 157 @ Sterling and it's almost shot now from only hitting the ground. I picked up a 160 @ Tendick and so far it's fine; maybe 20 throws. I threw it about 375 in a headwind practicing the other evening, which was a little startling ;D I have to point out that it landed about 100 ft to the right of where I wanted it to go, but the distance was interesting...
