The 22nd Channahon Classic is confirmed and scheduled to be on September 26th and 27th.
Adv / Rec / Jr divisions play Saturday
Pro / Int / Nov divisions play Sunday.
Pro-B/Am-B tier event! Minimum $500 added cash to Pro Open purse!
No idea how many holes there will be. I would expect at least 21. I need to coordinate with Frank to see what other kind of places we can stick some extra holes and not just have them there for the sake of having a hole.
Registration will be online shortly after the conclusion of the Sinnissippi tournament.
I'll hopefully have fliers for all of my upcoming events available at Sinnissippi.
course looked and played great yesterday
thanks frank !
you should have a design the extra hole contest
i think at least 2 more elevated baskets would be cool
Did the Hamilton A-tier that weekend get cancelled? It is still on the PDGA schedule...

I hope the weather is better than it was at the March Tourny here!! >:(
no, Hamilton is still going on - this was the only weekend we could get to work with Channahon's schedule with Cross Country and stuff going on there. I don't like competing against other events, but I think there's a large enough player base to make both events successful.
Pre-registration is online!

I lowered the entry fees across the board by $5. Be sure to pre-register and get the lowest price! You still get $15 reward dollar player packs (AM's), and everything else should be the same look and feel similar to any of my other tournaments.
I will be at the Oswego Handicap Leagues 8/13 if you want to pre-reg there.
So far we are at $60 of the minimum goal of $500 added cash to the pro purse. Thanks to all of you who showed your support with the 50/50 CTP's! If you would like to sponsor this event, on the registration page there is a way to show your support. You do not have to sign up for the event in order to be a sponsor.
Your pre-registration support is greatly appreciated!
Just wanted to bump this post up as a reminder about the 22nd Channahon Classic! $25 for AM's, you get $15 worth of merch back right away just for playing! Play well and win even more :)
dang , with my rating , I could play Novice on Sunday
but Kev - C would have to play INT
time for KEV to play up and spuds down
I'll be registering for advanced....
We should both be playing INT Spuds anyway based on time we've played this game.
I just keep getting worse apparently or everyone else is getting better.
Might help if I played a round more than once every two weeks.
Did skip work and played Channy last week. Definitely thinking about making my first venture into intermediate out there
in a couple of weeks.
cool, hope to see these pre-reg's come in :) Only a couple people signed up so far, but I know that will change in a hurry!
course played great in sundays early fog
we did not
any thoughts how many and the location of the extra holes will be
there will be 3 temp holes following hole 18. People that have played this year's March tournament know 2 of them, and if you played last year's March tournament you know all 3. The first one is a long shot straight through a fairly wide tunnel of trees. If you go too far right you're going to find trouble. I may put the basket at the base of the hill instead of on the hill, we'll see. After that you have another shot around trees where the basket is very reachable, but there is an OB path (on/over) 15 feet away from the basket. The last temp hole I'll probably have you tee from the path that plays to the baseball field with a really tight OB line close to the basket. It's not quite an island hole, but it's close.
Yeah I know those holes. Hopefully they'll be easier when it's not 10 degrees out.
I know I putted OB down the hill one of the rounds on the 2nd one and took the circle 4.
Got my "permission slip" tonight for the tourney.
Ready to donate to Intermediate!
Always enjoy a Channahon tourney, looking forward to Saturday.
see ya Saturday Taylor.
You're going down like the Steelers.
I know that, but will still see you on Saturday.
just signed up for nov see u guys sunday
I am a visitor from Dallas, staying downtown Chicago and will be here this weekend. Is there anyone who could help me get to this tournament on Saturday? I play advanced masters. If you could help or know someone who could, PM me here or on the PDGA website. or give me a call at 214-725-7568.
Thanks,
Mike Anderson
PDGA #21704
will the nov. be playin both short and long tees?
yes, all divisions will play one set of each. There isn't a long for every tee, and I've had no problems playing the long tees (as a novice player myself).
What kind of baskets do you have lined up for the temps? I've got a chainstar that you can use, if need be.
Thanks to Scott and Frank for their hard work.
frank was out there sunday working on the course
playing INT on sunday
any bag tags coming down ?
Quotefrank was out there sunday working on the course
Frank has been out there all week. The course is looking great! The grass around the teepads are cleaned up/edged, 12s basket/green has been improved, leaves blown, tall grass/weeds have been whacked and 10m circles have been painted.
Dana - please bring your chainstar. I have one chainstar and 2 discatcher sports, but I'm sure people would rather play 2 chainstars and 1 discatcher sport (presuming this would only be the case sunday since you are playing sunday).
If people want to run tags, feel free, but I would need a club member to step up and take them in. I can probably scrounge up a box and paper or something to help out... but it would be the club member's responsibility to write down scores, figure out who gets what, and redistribute.

Frank Grimes has given blood, sweat, tears, money, time, and a whole lot of caring for this great game of ours! The landscaping and mother nature at Channy is a original beauty in itself. Franks signature is everywhere. The tee pads at Eagle Ridge are pretty damn nice too! The game is fortunate to have him!
Frank really gives his all to this course. Everything looked great.
Had a nice turnout today. Great weather. Scott did a great job running this one. Let me cash out early to get home at a reasonable time. Thanks for that Scott.
Great shooting Nick Austin!!!!
The real thank you's belong to Jason Poole, Tom McManus, Frank Grimes, Jon Boster, Matt Cook, Cory Clements, and my wife Sara Pitner. This event would not have come close to the quality of event it turned out to be if it were not for these folks stepping up and making this tournament respectable. So I THANK YOU.
After taking a quick recovery nap I'm working on getting prepped for tomorrow first, then I'll work on entering Saturday's scores. Nick Austin won advanced shooting -14 on the day. Mike Anderson won Advanced Masters (-9 on the day). Mike Conlee won Rec (Even on the day), Al Babbe took Advanced Grandmaster (-1 for the day), and Ashleigh Bushman won Rec Women (+33).
And to the gentleman with the extension cord that helped me cover the remaining distance that I was short, thank you for helping me out!
Scores are posted :)

It was a LOT windier on Sunday, although weather conditions were pretty good both days. The rain thankfully stayed away :)
Thanks Jason, Tom, Frank, Dana, Ashley, Jon, Corey, Jake, and Sara for your help. You guys stepped up and helped make this event happen. Without you this event would have been a disaster.
as long as I can find the proper packaging to securely ship them out, the trophy pictures from Saturday's winners (Adv Masters, Rec, and Rec Women) should be sent out tomorrow. All of the rest are already distributed.
will the rounds for the player rated 918 be taken away since he bagged in novice? he didnt cash but he still beat others that were actually novice rated players.

The name listed with that player doesn't match the name associated with that PDGA number, it's a typo the correct PDGA number is 39906 and his rating is actually 807.
this has been corrected now. It did not change any of the ratings. Sorry about that. Couldn't read it from the registration card correctly.
Nice job Scott. Thanks for running events, having such a wide variety of merchandise, and for getting the scores posted so quickly. The course looked great this past weekend, Frank does a fantastic job on this course. Thanks to Dana and Frank for helping to load out last night. Dana was instrumental in getting things going on Sunday morning. Ashley was really a great help with the score cards and the players cards. Jason Poole came through in a huge way on Saturday, he gave up a chance to play to make sure that things ran smoothly.
It really would be great to have an event at the park during the summer. A fall event is nice, but it would be nice to see the course with all the trees, bushes, and flowers in full bloom.
I had to change one more typo - this made everyone's first round rating go up about 2 points across the board, and everyone's 2nd round went down about 1-2 points. Sorry about that!
I do plan to have these results in by the 10/2 cutoff for the 10/21 ratings update.
thanks Scott
great course , great day
great selection of merch
No one sets up a better merchastravaganza than Scott.
