Title: Pieradise Open Sat August 22
Post by: Arok on August 13, 2009, 12:17:37 PM
I think a few of us will be heading down for this. I'm looking into room prices as its a 3 hour drive plus I think they are an hour ahead. This course is pretty sweet and there will be over 3,000 vintage discs for sale.

Am divisions Sat and Pro Sunday

I will be there for sure. Going for my 3rd straight win in the Summer Series.  A 5th, 1st, and 1st already has me in the payouts for overall, so I have to go to this pitch & putt course. Should be a good time, if you like Birdies  ;) Hope to see some more Illinois guys there.

where are people staying for this tourney? I was looking at hotels but the only ones that seem ok, are about 20 miles away in Kokomo.  I plan on leaving work friday and getting to my hotel around 9pm their time.  I really didn't want to get up at like 2-3am and leave IL to register and then play 54 holes and then come home.  Also, just to double check, I didn't see a place to pre-register, is this a walk up and pay tourney? Anyone play this course and have any tips other than it's pretty birdie-able?

Kyle, I talked to Allen Pier tonight. I am sending my pre reg tomorrow morning. He expects over 120, 4'somes on 27 holes is 108, so I would give him a call at the # above, or send payment to...

Allen Pier
4701 South 250 East.
Peru, In 46970

Make check out to him.

the C-27 course is the easiest, with -23 being the Pro course record. It is for sure a pitch and putt, so bring your best putter, cause it will be used ALOT! 4701 IS HIS ADDRESS, TAKE A RIGHT INTO DRIVE, AND FOLLOW THRU THE WOODS, ARE THE DIRECTIONS.
The 3000+ vintage discs has my attention. If you go to www.pieradisediscgolf.com you will find collectible discs pictured that he will have there. OLD 1ST EVER ROCS. I can't wait!!!
Hope to see you there.

and I am driving the day of. I bowl leagues on Friday nights, so the alarm will be set for about 3am. puts me there about 8:30 Indiana time. Registration closing at 9:30. I should be able to play a round in that hour  ;D

doubles is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm after tourny ends, so he is not expecting very long rounds.

Had a pretty fun time on this literal deuce or die course.  If you didn't shoot double digit under both rounds, you weren't in the running.  Not many ADV players, I think 19 was the total. Maybe they are waiting for the pro day tomorrow.  A nice course which has I think I heard 4 different pin placements. We were on the easier C placements today.  If any one is interested and has $400 thousand lying around, Allen Pier is selling Pieradise Disc Golf Course.  That includes 27 acres of land, 27 concrete tees and baskets, home made wooden signs for all the tees.  A two story house (pretty big actually), a GIGANTIC BARN that has an upper level as well and a wood burning heater. The barn also will come fully stocked with discs (has a sweet pro shop inside the barn).  I wish I had the money, i'd buy it in a heartbeat.  I was joking that someone couldn't even buy a house for that much money in my town.  Crazy what a few hours away will do.

well you did anyway. Like Kyle said, this was deuce or die, and I died today. Couldn't make a putt for 2 for about  10-12 holes that 2nd round. Too many OB's the 1st round. Overall a great course, and nice property. If I can win the lottery soon, I would buy this in a heartbeat as well. Beautiful course, well maintained, with absolutely NO GARBAGE at all on the ground. This C course was very congested on several holes, but other than the wind and bad putting, a great experience.
