I was registering for the Prairie Open and I saw this as another tournament to register for on Widye.com. I am thinking about playing this tournament, I thought I remember hearing good things about this course. Does anyone have any thoughts on the tourney or course itself? Anyone else thinking of going? I believe it's the weekend of Sept. 12-13

Kyle,
If you get a chance, play this event. There is camping on site. There are also some cottages and rooms to rent in the house on the property. There are two separate courses. One is a par 54 course with is mostly open but there a couple of holes that skirt the woods. The other course is a Timmy Gill designed course with lots of elevation and woods. I think it is a par 64 course, but am not positive.
The views are great, the people who own the resort couldn't have been nicer. Overall it is a great experience.

If you can make it you should go to this event. My wife and I got engaged up there a few years go and have gone back every year. The tournament is solid. Don is good stuff, they run a quality event. The original course is pretty sweet and has a good mix of rolling hills, woods, water and open shots. Big brother is an amazing course that will make you play smart golf. There is a good balance of risk/reward on both courses. The corn was brutal but I hear they may not have it this year. That stuff was a killer in some spots. If I were not going to cable, I'd play this event. They have camping or cabins but they are expensive. You can make a nice weekend out of it as its a B&B if you want to spend the cash. Overall It's a great place and VERY picturesque golf. I was blown away by the big brother course though, really tough but fun.
