Curious to why you/they are sanctioning the doubles?  Is it in order to get more players cause it is sanctioned?  Why give the PDGA $ when you don't really need to?   Points don't mean anything anymore and you don't get ratings for doubles.

its cheaper to pay the pdga insurance fee with sanctioning than the park districts. the rockford park district insurance to have a tournament costs more. thats about the only reason. we dont need sanctioned tourneys to draw people, but if its gonna be cheaper to run it then so be it.

I think that's why a lot of tournaments are sanctioned.  If you want to buy event insurance you have to incorporate, then you can spend $500 to $1000 and you have to commit to running events of a certain size, no more than a certain number of events, and there are other restrictions on what you can or have to do.  With the PDGA insurance all you have to do is pay the $100 sanctioning and insurance and the $2 a player.

Otherwise, there's no reason to sanction doubles.  No ratings and half the points.  And so few people read PDGA.com anymore, it is not as useful for promotion as it once was.

Grabm is going to move the baskets some time today hopefully.  We have alternates for all 18 holes plus 11 and 12 have c placements.  I have never heard anything about tee signs so I don't know anything about that.   If everything goes right today we should have them moved.  Should be a fun challenging course, some holes got easier some got a whole lot harder.  Hope to see you all out there on the 24th.  It's going to be a great tournament.  I hope the conditions are better then last year but if not it will make it all that much more fun.

the cash raised from the 50/50 ctp at the last tourney was for new tee signs. this was discussed at the club picnic.

The park district was waiting until the b positions were put in to make the signs.  Hopefully they will be getting them soon.  The c placements on 11 and 12 will not be included on the signs.  Not sure if those will be played in the tourney or not.  Looks like they will be played in those positions though.  I don't remember the talk about the signs at the picnic, since that meeting took so long it was hard to pay attention to it after a while.  The club should also have all the new Innova discs for sale at the tourney including the Star mako, Star Roc, the Pro Destroyer and Pumpkin discs.

played the new setup on the west course at leagues yesterday...wow my new favorite course. hole 12 c is a monster hole, i would say just as long as hole 18 in round lake only not as open. definitely worth a ride to check out.

Hole 12 in the C is 735'.  So you have hole 10 603'   11 427' 12 735' 13 501'  and then back a little ways 7 is 534'.  And it looks like there is going to be beautiful weather on saturday  it's supposed to be 42 for a high with snow/rain showers.  Not supposed to be windy though ;D  Hope to still see you out there I'm guessing it wont be as bad as it looks.
