I got a disc golf basket (discatcher sport) finally so now I am practicing putting a lot. My questions for you are, how do you putt? Do you spin putt (bullet/straight at the basket), push putt, hyzer putt anhyzer putt? Might you even predominantly TURBO putt?!?! All of the above? What putts do you use for certain situations? What putter/putters do you use and why? Basically, please tell me all about your putting. At this point, I feel my driving and approaches are pretty good. Sure, they will keep improving but I know putting is the most important part of the game and it is my weakness at this point. So for me, I've been expirimenting with putting styles and have mostly been using a push putt. I try to release shaking hands with the basket and aim high so it drops in. I like to bullet putt too but when I miss, it of course blows by the basket which is why I had been going with the loft putt. Whatever, I have plenty of time this off season to figure out what I'm doing puttingwise. I hope to use your advice to help me figure out how I want to putt by trying more styles of putting. Thanks for your responces in advance.
Steven ;)
P.S. : Draining those long putts sure feels good! ;D I drained a few 50 footers or so today on a s curve jump putt so that is probably why I'm writing this all of a sudden. :toothy9:
Ha ha, just thought I'd share this to hopefully give you a chuckle. My parents won't let me putt in the house anymore because the disc hittin chains drives them crazy. ::)
Well I push putt and a spin putt. Only time I spin putt is when it is supper windy and like u said shoot it like a bullet throug the wind.
Only thing I can say is take alot of putter and just putt. The way I practice is like that u are on the course. When u step up and putt u do ur whole routine like u were in a tourney. and I would stay away from the 40+ footer practice from 30 feet and within those will help you lose strokes in the long runif you can bang those all day. And another thing just do what is comfortable only thing I can say that when I see you play u have alot of movment but if u r comfortable with that then keep doing it. I have the fundemental DVD w/ climo and feldberg if u r interested in borrowing it,
badly and alot unfortunuately
did this routine the other day
3 of the same type of putters - I have a couple of different sets
but basically all avial dx putters
start at 5 steps out to 12 steps out twice = 48 putts
3 sets of reps from different angles in yard 3 * 3 = 9 putts
9 throws from 2 spots down the drive way ( base of pole drill ) = 18 putts
repeated start at 5 steps out to 12 steps out twice = 48 putts
repeated - 3 sets of reps from different angles in yard 3 * 3 = 9 putts
132 putts
didnt help me on real course cause oly ate me up
there was a link here to a good instructional video
the key is practive and be comfortable with your set up and routine and stick with it so that confidence and ability ( scoring ) will follow
