This is an email I received from Kurt Raffensperger:

Hello to all hope all is well if you are getting this it is because you played in the 2005 Milwaukee Open .As many of you know we lost a wonderful person recently Monroy Gowens,most of you knew him and knew the kind spirit he was, but for those who didn't he was maybe the BEST HUMAN I ever had the good fortune of meeting.
Anyways this weekend there is a Fundraiser this weekend at The Beautiful Dretzka Winter Course to help out Jenny Marie ,Monroys better half.The format is 1 round random doubles at 11.For more info check out WIDYES website(Josh Hamm) or the GLDGC website.Lifes to short to wait til spring to go golfing with your buddies HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL OUT THERE!!!!!

I'm sad to hear it. Monroy was a really nice guy, and good to play a round with. I played a bunch of rounds with him when I lived in Milwaukee.
