I read and talked to a guys that said he hit it
there wasn't anything that was reported on the scorecards when we were checking scores. I think we would have seen a 1. Nobody talked to me about it either, and nobody disagreed when I stated that the Ace Fund was rolling over.
Will there be a TO option at this event for MPO?
yes, there will be TO and 1/2-in options for Fairfield. Registration will either go up this week or next!
i assume tees will be from the "new" tees...???
is there going to be crazy OB like there has been in years past?

Tees will be played as they are now.
Hole 8 tee will be marked to the left with a mando (throwing to the left of the tree immediately off the tee--drop zone-retee)
The orange fence to the left of #12 will be played as OB.
The orange fence to the left of #18 will be played as OB.

the lone tree in the dead center like 30-40' in front? or the one immediately in front of the tee?

I have a feeling that Saturday is going to max! Make sure to save yourself a spot!
and max is?
novice division
hmmm thinking of coming up on sat
842
max would be 100 players per day.
bunch of pre-reg's have already come in, I still start updating the PDGA website as soon as I get the info from Brett.

These options are missing from the pre-registration page. Are they being offered?
*grumpy* i forgot about that. I blame it on making the pre-reg pages at 2:30 AM. I will get them up shortly because yes, they will be offered.
TO price is $23, 1/2 in is $28 (both including online fee). At the registration table it will be $25 and $30, respectively (will be corrected later should I be wrong).
You could also use the mail-in option with the address provided at the bottom of the page, then it's $20 and $25.
So if no one hits the ACE Sat. or Sun., what happens to the ACE $$? Will there be a playoff for it on Sunday or will it roll over until IOS 2011 Series? Just wondering.

It has always rolled over to the next season.
At IOS #1 this year there was a $700+ ace hit by Michael Fierke that included the stuff that rolled over from last year. I believe it was $400+ that was from last year, then no one hit Saturday, and then it was hit on Sunday.
Keep those registrations coming in! Current weather forecast is calling for 2 nice sunny days :) It's a great way to conclude the season!

Come out and play Saturday too.
There has been quite a bit of talk about this event on Saturday and the ace pool. There may be a possible parking issue since the small lot is fenced off for construction. If the lot is full park across the street in the subdivision. It's located directly across the street from hole #2. DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF FAIRFIELD RD.
At least two Advanced amateurs wanted to know if there'd be a 1/2-In option or trophy-only option for the Open division. I kept telling them to ask Jon or Brett because I was out of the loop.
I've made a quick recovery from playing the Homie and my feet are ready to go next weekend somewhere. My chances of coming out to round Lake increase if there is a reduced entry fee option for Open on Saturday. But don't do it for me. I'm day to day with my symptoms. Feeling good today, though, which makes me optimistic about a long-term recovery.

Let's fill up the parking lot and make it impossible for casuals to even get out of the car! >:D
Half-in is being offered.

I figured if i asked and then commented on any comment pointing out that the answer was already here somewhere, there would be four times as many opportunities for Chris and others to find out that HALF-IN IS BEING OFFERED AT ROUND LAKE.
Just got back from Fairfield. Course is looking very good and super dry.
10 Meter Circles have been painted.
A bunch of guys picked up garbage and there is none to be found on the course.
The garbage cans with hole #'s have been moved closer to their appropriate tee pads. #1 & 14 are missing.
Thanks guys! The group included. Chris J., Dave N., Jason C., Kenny G., Andy R., and Sang P.
Mailman didn't come today(forgot Columbus Day) check will be on the way tomorrow.
If you are headed to this event I would get there early, there is no way everyone will fit in the lot. With this said those who are lucky enough to park in the lot should not leave tons of room between cars.
when will the tourn reg list be up on PDGA?
sometime today - probably not until very late.

Any tournament director that runs a PDGA event can submit info.I submitted that last night. Dan Michler wrote up a nice article for IOS #2 and Lauren Lakeberg submitted some nice pictures. It was posted prior to that event too.
anyone from the Peoria area going to this event?
Not sure which route to take to get there the quickest. google has 3 routes, but I know constuction has 1 all messed up. would like to follow someone, or can someone get me to the course from Channahon area?? Thanks

If you make it to the Joliet/Channahon area, just take 55 to 294 to 94. Get off at 120 and head west to Fairfield Rd. I know it looks like a longer route, but staying on the highway is the way to go. I have made it to Community Park/Channahon in about 45 minutes taking that route.
okay, thanks Jason. will I hit a toll this way?
Yes, I think 2 or 3. Not totally sure, as I have had the I-pass for a few years.
$10 Random Draw Dubs Friday night 5pm tee off... Brett you going to be at the course Friday night taking pre reg?

Go IL AMS!
very cool to see it on the PDGA front page. About time I got around to making a series logo.. had it ready just in time for it to end! At least it's an easy mod for next year :) I'll have to make the written out text larger though - too difficult to see. Maybe it will be time to bring back the generic IOS tournament series stamp?
That's pretty cool
still time for there to be an IOS #10 this year.......
yes there is time, but there's also a very worn out merch guy that has been heavily involved in all 9 and needs some time to rest!

...and does not have silly park fees, interventionist locals or other problems?
I guess the other thing it would need to lack would be a sanctioned tournament in October or November.

black bear - probably too tight for a good toruny i guess tho
silver lake
kenosha - 2 courses right next to each other ;)

I will be there.
This will be the last IOS of the year, but we'll save some for 2011!
First round scores are up:
http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=11000&year=2010&include_ratings=1#Open
As the second round cards are coming in I'm hearing a rumor of SEVEN aces that were hit today - 1 in the first round on the first hole (9) and supposedly quite a few more after that!
wow, thats alot
IOS Crew, thanks for running a great tournament today! I had a lot of fun out there.
Congrats to Andy Van Meer for hitting 2 of the 7 Aces today!!
...the usual outstanding job by the IOS crew, among other things having the scores up so quickly!
Par appears to be 63... I assume 12 is considered a par4; is 18 a par 5 or am I missing something?
Good job IOS crew today. I regret not being able to play more of the IOS events this year, but there were other priorities. Hopefully I'll play 'em all in 2011.
7 Aces?!
Do you have a list of players/holes?
I hit a black ace today ;D
Some people are pressure players and can always hit that important putt. After the chatter about a tournament a week ago Jon out did himself with Becky and Madidison's help. Registration was seemless. Awards were handed out shortly after the last card was in. Scores were online before I got home. I can't give him credit for the weather...or can I. Scott has his system down to a science and the time from browse to buy is very quick. What a nice day.

I only know of a couple
Fred Vroman hit #4
Andy hit 17 & 4 i think
2 Aces on 17, 2 on 9, 2 on 4, and 1 on 3. i know Andy hit 17 and 4, Fred hit 3, which was prolly the hardest ACE considering the massive head wind on that hole.
hole 2 has been aced twice so far today - once I saw by Tyler in practice and then during the round by StanK. Stan didn't get in the ace fund though, so who knows who might claim it today! The wind is VERY calm out here right now. An enjoyable day! Wish you were here!
Saturday's aces in no particular order:
Al Hermosillo, Round 2, Hole 17, 148 feet
Pat Berrett, Round 2, hole 3, 278 feet
Andy VanMeer, round 2, hole 4, 252 feet
Pat McFarland, round 1, hole 9, 240 feet
Andy VanMeer, round 2, hole 17, 148 feet
Matt Travis, round 2, hole 9, 240 feet
Fred Vroman, round 2, hole 3, 278 feet
Sunday's first round results are up:
http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10999&year=2010&include_ratings=1#Masters
What a great weekend! Had a bunch of fun out there. I can't believe how many aces were hit during the rounds (9 total). I saw a bunch more during warm up too. The weather was awesome!
A BIG Thanks to the IOS Crew and all of the helpers.
I really enjoyed the series this year. Had a blast, and was always taken care of quickly after the tournament was over so I could get back on the road at a reasonable time. I only missed 1 event(Monday's tourny), and will free up room on next years calendar to get to as many as I can next year.
And congrats to Dave Nelson, for tearing that course a new one yesterday.
See ya all next year!
oh, and congrats to Tom McManus as well for his Victory.
