Title: Best Shot Scores
Post by: jim on February 04, 2002, 05:47:35 AM
I have begun listing scores and points on the website again for Best Shot leagues.  I was an English major and math was not my strong suit. Therefore, I need people to check my addition on occasion and let me know if any info is incorrect. THANKS!

I definately like the grand total column. Its nice to see at a glance who's in what place overall.

For that first week, I gave each the two lowest teams 2 point because they tied for last. One point for showing up, and I threw in another point each, since they did not play a playoff for last place, and neither of the last teams actually lot to each other, technically.

Jim,

Week 1 [------ Should Brent & Joe T. had a CTP with Jojo for 5th place? I see they tied and both scored 2. Figured for league points this could make a difference down the road. Example-My partners and I have lost playoffs in the first 2 weeks. This is a swing of 4 points. That is a huge difference. Figured we should have a CTP on all ties.

Jim,

Some corrections for the Best Shot page are:

- Al (Pro) and Paul (Am) combined should have a 0 handicap. Not that it changes their placing, but it will affect their overall averages at the end of the year.

- There was a playoff for second place. The losing team got third place, and everyone after that got 4th 5th and 6th places. The scoring doesn't reflect that. It gives the same scoring for 2nd and 3rd (8 points), then gives 4th 5th and 6th places an extra 2 points.

I think that's it. Let me know if you want me to do the web page for leagues. I certainly don't mind either way.

***sorry - wrong category*** (I need to take a nap)

My computer has been doing strange things today, so this might be a PC problem and not a web site problem. When I click on the "home" category at the top of this page, it takes me to the Discontinuum web site instead of the Discussion main page. Is it supposed to do that? Not that it matters a whole lot.

Yep, it's supposed to do that.  If you want to go back to the main discussion page, hit the index link.  It should be just below the home link.
