With the new cement longs? I would put my money on no.

the course record from the longs is 46 from  Scott Martin back in 1997. But like Brett said, with the NEW long teepads, I will also say unless someone from the NT comes to play in this, that No, 40's will not be reached.

Schweb has the record I thought?

I can tell you that we wont use hole 9's new long tee.  Talk about a waste of cement!

Its a different course now, so old records won't ever be broken.

Schweb claims the record- check his writeup for Innova http://www.innovadiscs.com/team/champion-team/brian-schweberger.html

thanks Dana. that was a cool page to look at. Scott's must not have been in a official sanctioned event, but I know he posted a 46 from the longs, as he and his brother were our traveling partners from 1994-1998.

with those new tees, I would be very suprised to see anything in the 40's though.

Hope to have all info out by tomorrow.

Trying to decide on costs and half in vs trophy only.  Might just do both, I donno.  Any input?

My opinion:

$25 Half-In
No trophy-only.

I have an idea.  I'm also going to offer a $10 trophy only option.  And you then can have the option of a $15-20 side bet for those rated under 935.  It will be a ghost division of sorts within the open division.  This "ghost division" will play for their side bet, which will be payed out in merch (most likely).

does this make sense?

so the side bet part is only for 935 and lower? so what do I sign up for, Open?

yep, open.  everyone is in the same divisoin.  i'm just running that ghost division side bet for those lower rated players.

Everyone clear on the <935 rated side bet?

I'm hoping for a 50+ field of players.  This might be your only shot to get some sanctioned rounds in at McNaughton this year!  You can do it for as little as $10!!!  This is also going to be your best shot at qualifying for the VIBRAM OPEN.  I know a lot of the Joliet guys won't be opting in for the the VO cause its the same weekend as Sandy Point.  This could be your chance to play the famed Maple Hill at one of the best events of the year.

$10 tee signs are available too!

I got word from 2 people on Saturday that they drove down and played McNaughton.

If anyone else is planning on doing this, give me a heads up. I am just 5 minutes from McNaughton, and would come out to play with whoever wants to play it. as long as it's after 3:30 pm, and is not on Tuesday or Friday ( I bowl ) send me a PM here or on facebook.

Side bet payouts and ams taking merch instead of cash will not get pfc fun bux.  I'll be providing discs for the tournament (close to 200 innova, discraft and vibram).

If you have an issue or would like to withdrawl your side bet/entry fee, please call me 8155751917

really cant believe not more are registered for this yet?  just 4 days away. and a  chance to play probably the toughest course in Illinois. from the long tees, it has to be the toughest for sure, but even the shorts aren't easy. cmon people, make the trip down, and supportDana's efforts to send someone to the Vibram Open!

just came from McNaughton, and the course is looking great. freshly mowed, and the last 2 days of this sun and the wind really dried up all the mud nice. should be a great day, with a slight chance of a shower.

I felt like I got on a flight and landed many states away. It's amazing the difference 3 hours makes. I have yet to mow and there is nothing green on the trees at my house. McNasty has lush green grass and the trees are very green. Course is looking great. Had absolutely perfect weather this morning to play.

McNasty?   That's a little harsh isnt it?

I played a few rounds there while I was job training down in the area and I actually enjoy the course.

he means McNasty, because, you leave the fairway, it is hell almost any rough that you find. if you go deep, you have a tough time even finding a way out. I live 5 mins away and I can shoot a -3 one day, but back it up the next +8 or more.
miss the fairway and you pay the price at McNasty!  >:D

and play the long tees on the back 9, tell me those are not nasty.  11, 12, 14-18 are a bitch if it's any kinda windy!
