Nah, I say use one of the ones Joe came up with for the discs.... Make it an item to vote on, perhaps similar to the format of the club elections last spring where its one vote per club member and voting is open for a month (so we can get as many opinions as possible).

how does that sound? I know it prolongs things a little....

Sure, as long as it doesn't turn into another 'discontinuum dollars' fiasco...

Heh! I was actually kidding about the fire filters, but the drop shadows look pretty nice.

you got eye candy on that box of yours? I used to have a tyedye filter a long time ago but lost it during a rebuild....

Well, I will be unable to attend the meeting as Beth and I are going out of town right after leagues on Sunday (I had to convince her I couldn't miss a week and still have a shot at first just to be able to play on Sunday).

I'll try to give my thoughts on the current agenda items when I have a chance, either today or tomorrow.

Location: Potesta's doesn't open until 4pm on Sundays, so how about either Quonset Hut Pizza (which may be crowded and has no meeting rooms) or Avalon (Grand & Rt. 21) or In-Laws (next to Avalon)?  Please post your preference.

I just emailed with Rick at DGW, and I think he'd be open to some of that action. Is this something you want to do soon?

If we buy in bulk, we should do a standard logo design with perhaps "Get Out and THROW!" on the front. Something which can be used for any club event.

Maybe we can do the same for the club discs and pay Jojo to dye 'em. What do ya say?

We will meet at PIZZA HUT after Best Shot this Sunday (@1pm).

Potesta's is closed before 4pm, and people voiced against Quonset. After this meeting, we will be meeting once a month, same time and day usually, at a new place.  I am now nearing a new sponsorship deal with another restaurant. Yeah!

For this meeting, please:

-be timely (lots to talk about)

-speak your mind!  don't stay silent and complain later.

-be realistic about wants/goals

-keep original vision in mind (open to everyone, no exclusion, more play=more fun, profit is not main motive, club should pay for itself)

Any questions, please email or call me about them.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A LAPTOP WE CAN USE AT THE MEETING?

Photos from the Blast are in and I want to play the CD for y'all!!!  THEY ROCK, BABY!

Brett - its a secret. :-)

BC - EXCELLENT!  Does it have a CD drive? It would need to run a powerpoint-type (self-extracting) application.  Shouldn't be too taxing for a laptop....  lemme know....

Mirth - oh SURE, put immediate family before extended family!  Loser!  just kidding....  Make sure you give agenda feedback before you take off.  Already got Jon Brakel's. We'll include them at the meeting.  THANKS!

Starting on the Sponsorship Topic. I'm getting ready to go into Grand Ave Sporting Goods to order over $2,000 worth of basketball uniforms again this year. I think this would be the best way to get t-shirts for our club. #1-]T-shirts would cost about $7.00 each if we had them printed. That would be a one sided print. #2-]I figured if we could work something out with sponsorship they may even give the shirts to us for free. I was thinking that we could get our club/logo/design on the front & Grand Avenue Sporting Goods on the back. What do you guys think?

If we could work something out with Grand Avenue Sporting Goods, I would like to come up with another cool design for the front of the shirt. Grand Avenue Sporting Goods on the back. If they would give us shirts, it would be nice to give them with a club membership. A club stamp disc, mini, & t-shirt for $15.00. You couldn't beat that.

I like version 3. Something else to discuss at the meeting. I stopped by Grand Sproting Goods today. I'm not much of a salesman. I talked to them for a little bit. Gave them some info & web page. I told him to contact us if he was interested in sponsoring us. I have to go back in a month to pick some stuff up so who knows.

Jim,

SPONSORSHIP? With what restaurant? Got any specifics yet? We really need to start finding sponsors.

We covered quite a bit.

1. Tax Exempt Status-] Paul has been working hard on this. He has it ironed out and is filing. $160.00 Fee. Many benefits. In the long run we will get bulk mailing, & full liability coverage so we won't need insurance. There is much more to this topic. We could talk about it for a few hours. I don't understand all the specifics so ask Paul.

2. Leagues-] We discussed best shot leagues. Payouts, prizes, etc... There may be change. Personally I like the current fees, format, payouts, & prizes. We should probably vote on it.

3. Safarri Series-] Schedule is set. 2nd Saturday of each month starting in January.

4. Tournaments-] Widdershins & Bevier Blast. We will keep same format as the Blast. June & September.

5. World's Biggest-] We will do once again. Not sure about all the specifics.

6. Sponsorship-] Jim has a few leads. We are holding off until tax exempt status.

7. T-shirts-] Will get club t-shirts. Prepay, order when memberships are due.

8. Club Stamp Discs-] Not sure what we decided.

Lots of possibilities.

9. Did i miss anything?

Note-] I really think we need to vote on a lot of the topics. There were 9 people at the meeting & 2 are not yet club members. The minority is making decisions for the majority.

Yeah!  And they should have all you can drink Budweiser bottles brought out by the Hooters Swedish bikini team.

Seriously, any place with a table and beer is good with me.  Doesn't even have to be Budweiser.

I've got a laptop with the pictures that I took at the Blast with my little digital camera.  I could bring that along.  The only downside is that it's a little bit crash happy.

The laptop in question is really old.  It does have a CD drive, but I don't know if it can play powerpoint type apps.  I've never had to use it for that.  It does have an ancient version of Media Player though, so that may work.  I guess we'll find out for sure on Sunday.

Well since Im sitting here at work, bored to death and I just happen to have a copy of Photoshop I thought I would throw together a little graphic.

Note I am not an artist and have never claimed to be one, therfore it may suck. I leave that for all of you to decide, it could make a neat little design to be screened on or embroiderd on the front of a shirt though.

Thanks Josh and Brett for the kind words...

Van Master.... You don't want my job, I don't even want my job and I'm the one who got to sit here and play with graphics.

And if anyone else has any comments, post em. God knows I have nothing better to do at the moment then fiddle with Photoshop.
