Title: Coming to Chicago
Post by: MIDiscGolf on April 27, 2011, 04:48:06 PM
I'm coming to Chicago and want to get a few rounds in, where are the best courses and when are some goods leagues running on the weekends?

The city of Chicago is the disc golf dead zone. I'm not sure where you are staying. The better grouping of courses are down in Joliet. In order of my preference. Highland, Channahon, West Park, Mokena.

ITT is a unique experience playing in an urban setting. It's not great golf but it's a one of a kind experience. No too far of a walk from the train.

Yeah CE thanks for the info were staying in river north, all the maps show DG out of the city, wouldn't want to have to deal with all the traffic to get to the courses daily.  Round Detroit you can get anywhere you want with no regard to traffic, so this is different, for the length of the course and the wife and son were thinking of going to Edgebrook so we can get a cart and ride. When we come back I have found several nice looking courses, but that will be for the next trip. Thanks B)  P.S. ever in the Detroit area use the Motorcitychaingang.com website or discgolfscene.com to find places and events to play in.

If you plan on going to Edgebrook make sure you call. There has been a ton of rain this month and that course has had flooding issues in the past.
