There are a ton of options compared to past elections. I need to do some research. I did some reading yesterday on PDGA.com but still very difficult. Bruce's favorite is Theo Pozzy. Vote for him!

Yes, a vote for Theo Pozzy is a vote for ending future voting.  Theo will definitely win the vote of more Rons than any other candidate.

Tell me about Theo and why I should or should not vote for him, Bruce?

You used to have a right to vote as a PDGA member.  You had other rights as well: a right to attend the annual meeting, a right to nominate candidates, a right to see PDGA documents.  These rights were protected by the PDGA constitution.  Now you have none of those rights.  The Board may let you vote, but they are also planning on adding board members that you cannot vote for.  If they were to decide that only 1000+ rated players can vote, or only Grandmasters can vote, you have no right to insist otherwise.  They may let you nominate candidates but they don't have to.  They might publish their budget on PDGA.com but if they don't want the members knowing their business their constitution does not give members access to PDGA documents.  Theo spearheaded the effort to foist the new constitution on the players that took away all members' rights.  He promulgated the lie that it was necessary for the organization to move forward.  When I questioned whether the membership would vote to eliminate all their rights, he said contemptuously, "They will vote for whatever we tell them to."  He was right.  Theo thinks the membership is a bunch of morons.  Maybe he is right.  Probably any group of people who would vote to eliminate all their rights probably should not have rights.

i think the legal issue you bring up in the peter shrive discussion seals the deal for me on theo pozzy. is the set-up legal in IL? i have thought about trying my hand at being a TD but wouldnt want any legal issues like that.

Illinois is a legal state.  Illinois has an exception in its gaming law for games of speed, endurance or skill.

Stupid disclaimers: Not your lawyer.  Not licensed to practice law in illinois.  Not offering legal advice.  Blah, blah, blah.

My #1 issue:  Improvement and better usage of the PDGA website.  I feel its a primary resource for a large percentage of disc golfers and its potential is nowhere near maximized.  After reading through the candidate statements, it didn't seem like a major issue for any of them.  So, I'm not really sure who to vote for.

I went on Brett's link and also found there are threads for each of the candidates to answer questions.  On there, Pozzy seemed to indicate that new features, such as social networking ability through the website, were on the way.  I like the sound of that, why should I vote for anybody but him?

i remember an improved website and other features being promised a couple years ago.... their like Sonic, advertise for years that its coming and then finally when everyone has gotten to the piont of not caring then they finally get it done. i thought that thread made him look like your typical politician. alot of 'deflect and attack' wording. they all promise alot but what do you think is gonna get done? pozzy has been there a long time and promised alot! has he done what he was voted in all those times before?  continuing to put the same person in charge after repeated failure to uphold their own words is insane and i dont understand why so many are compelled to do so.

The statements that were provided and a little reading on the forums is really all the information I had.  I think we all know Kent and I played with Jack Lowe before and am also familiar with him from KC Worlds.  So, those two I am familiar with and they both seem like people that value some of the same things I do.  Wierda and Lowry I have no clue on.  That was more process of elimination based on some philosophical differences I seem to have with the other candidates.
