good luck to all my fellow discontinuum club members, and to all participants from Illinois.
REPRESENT BOYS!

nice field size
go get 'em
Ate at Spot Coffee in downtown Rochester tonight. I highly recomend it!
So who is coming from Chicago/Illinois? I know from the Charlotte and surrounding NC region we have 25 or so players going up with a nice mix of Advanced, Masters and female players. It looks like it is going to be nice weather (at least compared to what we have had down here lately).
Just got a text from Steven. Kyle and Steven are Doubles World Champs!
that is AWESOME!!! way to go kids. way to represent
Good luck, enjoy your week of disc golf!
FIBs RULE!!!! show em all how we hyzer are way to every basket even when there isnt a hyzer line. good luck!
Hey, good luck all you near-chicago mid-westerners, and congrats to Kyle and Steve! Where do we find those doubles results, anyway?
Oh, and congrats to a couple of folks I've enjoyed casual rounds with: Ryan and Colleen on their mixed doubles win...World Champions from greater Chicagoland!
Way to represent.
If it isn't someone from IL, I bet it will be the kid from Bama or Dan Hastings that wins.

I will say the MMA fighter turned disc golfer

I would also like to see Ben Askren do well. Because he is more famous than any actual professional disc golfer, he may bring some additional exposure to the game. His many achievements, including being in the Olympics, are listed on his wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Askren (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Askren)
Matt Travis and Kyle Chapman posted on facebook....
Matt is almost in LAST place of his pool.
and Kyle said he shot like dogshit, and way back from 1st place.
doesn't sound good. Kyle might still be on his high from being crowned junior world champ?
Didn't realize they were playing U-19.
Also didn't see that Billy Dunne was playing. He def. would have been a pick.
Several big gunners in the B Pool. I see player ratings of 997, 991, 988, 987, and 982. Pretty good odds the winner is coming out of that group. Right now Billy Dunne (991) leads with a 1022 rated Round 1.
Spencer Wilken with a 1030 rated Rd 1 to pace the A pool. Kenny 5 back of that pace with a nice round.
Steven with a solid 962 rated Round 1. 6 off the pace.
Good luck in Round 2 guys.
Steven just texted and said he shot awesome. 2nd place 3 shots back.
Good to hear Steven had a good 2nd round. Spencer in 1st? Not bad.
Billy Dunne has been playing pro for a few years, turning down cash. Really solid forehand. He throws big distance backhanded.
Should be a fun week watching the scores roll in.
after 2 rounds, Dunne is -10
Spencer fell to -4, while KennyG moved up with his 1001 rated 53. he is -3
-10
-7
-6
-6
-4
-4
-3

-3
then some -2's and -1's
Dunne looks to be for real, 1029 and 1023 unofficially
he's relatively local too, probably played the courses quite a bit.
good work, kenny!
Kenny G another 1007 rated round, moved ahead of Spencer, sitting at -8 thru 3 rounds.
Dunne hasn't finished his 3rd round yet.
keep it up Kenny!
Its uncanny how Kenny shoots way over his rating at Worlds every year. Keep it up!
Steven update. Up by 1 after his round this morning.
rooting for the gentlemen from southern illinois murpheysboro

hellllllssss ya. keep it up Kenny!
the top 10 have a pretty comfy lead. those must be some HARD courses. im a lil surprised at the scores.
Glassman by 3 with just 1 hole left to play in the 4th round. 8 deuces in 17 holes.
THE MAD SNAPPER!
IL could take a couple AM World Titles this weekend. Keep it up Kenny and Steven.
Pete May got his Am back so he could bag at Worlds. Go, Pete.
Go Kenny! Go Steven! :wav:
Steven texted me and said he killed it this morning. Big lead.
just saw the rating Steven shot a 1046 last round! holy smokes kiddo. Kenny with a 3 stroke lead and a 1007 round.
Way to go guys! Gurnee, IL tearin' it up.
Steven Jacobs 41260 958 56 975 54 982 51 983 46 1035
He is getting better wtih each round. Right now he has a 12 stroke lead after four rounds. Keep up the great work!
Glassman now 3 off the lead. Hastings shredded Rd 5 with a 47 to Kenny's 53.
thats on fire. I think the entire 4'some only had 3 bogeys the entire round. sucks kenny had 2 of them, and they were 5's, to where Dan took a 3 on one of them.
It's alright Kenny, plenty of golf left to make up 3 strokes.
Yeah Kenny!!!
Do it dream weaver style.
Steven's scores are what we all wish to shoot at every tournament we play. Assuming those ratings are right, his three "worst" rounds are 20 pts above his rating (979 vs. 958), plus they're consistent - 975, 977, 982, 983. Add to that his 1035 (!) round, no wonder he's winning by so much. If you exclude that hot round, he'd still be NINE throw ahead!
Go get 'em, kid, you're making us pround!
Yes, Stevens playing very well. Glad to see it. He deserves it. put in alot of work.
Kenny cut into Hastings lead by 1. Still down 2 with the semis and Final 9 to go. Plenty of time G$. make your move man!
WOW. It was all but over it looked, as Hastings had built a 7 stroke lead after hole #14, with 5 birdies in a row. But Kenny stayed right there and waited patiently, as Dan took a 6 on #15, while Kenny took a 2. Yep a 4 stroke swing on 1 hole. You just never know in this game.
Dan did improve his lead by 1 throw, but Kenny will make a strong push I think. 3 throws is nothing with 9 to play, after seeing what happened on #15.
CMON KENNY G! You can do this!
Not to mention Kenny got an ace on hole 3 as well.
good point!
ALL TIED UP!!! after one hole.
Get 'em Kenny G!
Kenny up by 1 w/2 go! Illinois could be gettin another world champ. get 'em Kenny!
And he WINS IT!!!
Woo-hoo!!!
Way to go, Kenny G.
KENNY IS WORLD CHAMP!
1st Advanced Champion from Illinois since Scott Martin(Morton)
Way to go Kenny. Very proud of you dude!
Great shooting Kenny! We've been checking in for those updates from tournament central here in Sterling! Way to represent!
Congratulations Kenny. Kelsey says, Yaaaaay.
Congrats champs!!! :hello2:
w00t! w00t! awesome job kenny and steven. way to keep your heads in the game and dominate all the way through.
Congrats to KennyG and Steven on great accomplishments!!
I was on my way yesterday to watch the Finals and collect whatever they were paying out for 24th in GM when my car broke down big time. (I missed the cut by 3 shots but I guess I wouldn't have made it to the course anyhow, although I was just a mile from Ellison when it happened.)
Just got home from an overnight train ride, going back Wednesday night (hopefully) to retrieve the car.
A tragic end to an otherwise really enjoyable week. (I actually shot my best round during the Friday morning downpour!)
Nice finish Kenny! Exciting final!!! :wav:
Congratulations to everyone from the area that competed!
Thanks for the support this week. I am proud to bring home the title to IL.
