Does anybody know anything about this Springfield A-tier on 4/28-4/29? What courses? I'm assuming its called '72 Ams' because the field will be limited to 72? Is it advanced only, or will there be multiple divisions?

Send Miles at Paragon an e-mail. I think the 72 has to do with Interstate 72.
Its at Springfield (Lincoln) and Decatur. Final day adding 9 holes to Decatur.
pretty sure website said using both Lincoln North and South?? and yes, Decatur
ahhh Interstate 72. That makes sense. If someone sees a flyer for this in the future, post a link here. I'm interested in playing this one if possible.
I'll look for it when I get home. just saw it the other day.
Field for this will be max 144 players. Am only event.
sat will be lincoln park north and south courses.
Sunday will be 27 holes stagger start
This will be part of Ledgestone insuruance point series.
Well have flyers out soon. The players pack for this event will be over the top. Definitely a tournament you dont want to miss.
Thanks for the info. Can't wait for the spring.
I added the schedule to the first post. Make sure you check the PDGA Tour page before attending any event on this document. I'm finishing out my term which ends later this summer. After that I'm hanging it up.

Whatcha talking about Willis?? :(
I pretty sure I have only know you as our State Coordinator (is 2004ish about when you took the job?)?!?! As far as I am concerned you have done a great job, and many thanks for all the time, energy, and patience over the years. I am glad you never got too burned out and your many accomplishments will never be underestimated. I wish I was better with words because you deserve a lot more then I am capable of typing. Everyone in IL is pretty lucky to have played in a Disc Golf Tourney during your time, you set a great example for us. Thanks for keeping us organized and all the many little things that I'm sure go unnoticed.
You will be a tough act to follow. Best of luck, and hope to see you out playing soon so I can say thanks in person.
THANKS BRETT!!!! for everything...
I agree 100% grateful. I have only been back playing since 2008, but Brett was always willing to lend a hand, give a helpful hint anytime needed, or whatever. I was shocked when he told me a month or so ago at McNaughton. Whoever follows him will have some HUGE shoes to fill!
Thanks for everything Brett! Job very well done!
I appreciate the kind words guys! It's been a great 6 year run. I have accompished some of the things I wanted to do. Someone that is driven will step up and do a great job. The scheduling is getting tougher and tougher!
Here is a link to a letter I sent out that I ran across. I remember the day I typed that up.

We are fortunate to live in a state that is supportive of PDGA sanctioned events. We have a great player base and some great TD's. I believe we are very underestimated.
I just added the updated schedule which includes Pine Hills and Alton in April. There are already over 40 events on that list. I have a feeling there will be 50 sanctioned events this year.
My first sanctioned tournament was Lombard IOS the year it rained bad toward the end. My first encounter with you Brett, was you running a 1st timer player's meeting before things started that day. That experience and every encounter with you since then has been wonderful. I have been a complete tourney addict since that 1st experience. I truly admire what you have done for the state and the sport. I feel fortunate to have had the privilege of playing in your tournaments and being part of the coolest disc golf state ever. You and all the other helpers somehow even made a couple of the mediocre courses in the Chicago area some of the funnest days to be a part of. You also were a major contributor in getting Sinnissippi back into tournament action which is awesome! You will be missed as our state coordinator. I hope to see you out playing the courses and tournaments.
Sincerely,
Jesse and Stacy Tackett
They say you don't know what you got till it's gone, I have a feeling it will ring true. Thanks Brett!

Randy, nice use of Joni Mitchel... you pave paradise and put up a parking lot.
Bad news for Illinois Ams, but even worse news for Illinois pros. Without administrative duties its going to be a take no prisoners year for Brett. Go get 'em. You've done your service, now go and play golf, have fun and win some cash.
vote for SR to run the state. He should be the president move aside Obama

I'd encourage any Amateur that has the chance to attend this event.
I just updated the most recent document. This year is going to be LOADED with events! Lockport has a handful of events that are going to be added.
I must go to Metropolis to play,

If anyone has some extra time I'd love to see the total number of players at all the IL events in 2011 compared to 2012.
So far there have been 3,167 players over 47 events.
Depending how you qualify events, two multi - state Iron Lion tournaments could add to the total. Half the Iron Lion Open was played in IL (Prospect) and one third of the Rumble (Camden 2).
I list them as they are submitted to the PDGA and reported statistically. If you use the advanced search it lists all Illinois events. As a TD there is an option to add both city and state when submitting an event.
If I have everything correct.
2012
53 events in Illinois
3,376 total players
64 players per event

Great job Brett! Thanks for all that you did as state coordinator.
