The 2012 IOS Series will be kicked off this year on the weekend of May 5th-6th @ Channahon!
Many more details to be provided soon!
...too bad this wasn't IOS #45 :P ...
I'll be playing Int. Women on Sunday. I can help with reg, too.
Becky, it looks like you need to renew with the PDGA.
woo, thanks Becky. Pre-registration is on my "things to get done ASAP" list, which means by end of this weekend.
The custom Innova order has been placed. There's going to be some sweet stuff in that order. The hot stamp design is attached. It should be as expected given the past 2 year's of stamps :)
Some highlights include Glow KC Roc's, Glow KC Aviar's, Metal Flake Champion Destroyer, Metal Flake Champion Gators, CFR Star Classic Cobra, and CFR Champion Vulcan. Good stuff!
I will also have available for a discounted reward dollar price (discounted cash price too) of a couple Innova DISCatcher Sports. I will have 2 - first come first served (make arrangements ahead of time so that I know if I need to bring them or not). Price is still TBD. I have to wait until they ship it. I just know that it will be cheaper than usual.
Pre-registration is now online.

Pre-Reg closes THURSDAY night, sorry, no exceptions!
Please note the NEW CHECK-IN AND PLAYER MEETING TIMES - 7:30-8:30 check-in, player meeting at 8:45! This should get everyone started in their rounds about 30 minutes sooner, and that means that you can get home just that much sooner!
scott , i sent you email about couple of discs
new sharks and stingrays
i need 2 each
what type of extra holes can we expect
any thoughts on extras where gary used to place them over
by the maintance shed
he used to get 3 or 4 over there
if you get big crowd , you may want to consider holes over there just in case
USADGC QUALIFYING EVENT!!!
Top 15% of Advanced division and no bump outs from what I've been told.
Pre-Register: http://www.paperorplasticsports.com/2012/2012ios49.html (http://www.paperorplasticsports.com/2012/2012ios49.html)
Spuds - I hope to have the new stuff, but with the size of the custom order and all of the other plastic that I'm currently out of it will be interesting to see what I'm able to actually order. The more people that pre-register, the better chance I have of ordering the better stuff that you guys want to pick for your player packs and winnings!
Custom order arrives tomorrow - it will have Blizzard Ch Apes in it, Metal Flake Wraiths (had to substitute out because they were out of max weight Metal Flake Destroyers)... metal flake Roadrunners too!
That is correct. There is no bumping this year. From the Am Nats website:
QuoteTop 15 percent at qualifying B-tiers, top 20 percent at qualifying A-tiers and ties for the Men's Am Advanced division only. Players that previously qualified in an event do not drop out if they qualify again. Their spot counts as a spoiler. No top five from each state this year.
The Metal Flake discs look friggin AWESOME! Blizzard Champion Ape's in the bottom right. Metal Flake Gator in the top left, also have some Metal Flake Destroyer (no max weight though :( ), Metal Flake Wraith, and Metal Flake Roadrunner!
Only 9 days away, I hope all of you are excited! Pre-reg is running a little slow, because of this I might not be able to stock up on the absolute newest plastic that is out there for you guys to pick as your player packs and winnings, but it is what it is! If a bunch comes in by Monday I can probably order both Innova and Discraft. Otherwise I'm going to have to choose. The tournament stamped stuff is ready to rock and roll though!
I have ONE more Discatcher SPORT basket available at a discounted reward dollar price - PM me if you are interested! I also have 2 skillshots and a couple discatcher travelers if people would like to buy larger items with your reward dollars. Because we cannot always fit these in the van - please contact me ahead of time if you are interested!
Scott, is Kelsey's payout from last year still good? I have the card. She was tied for 5th, 6th and 7th. It looks like the payout for 7th was written as $30, and then crossed out and written up to equalize the ties, but that higher number is now illegible. We were going to redemm our prizes on Sunday, but Sunday the weather was so bad we did not play, and we forgot about the prizes.
Rewards cards from last year are still good.
Bruce - definitely still valid this year. The payout on that was $35. Don't write on there to try to fix it, but you can give it to me first thing at the tournament and I can fix it for you.
Thanks!
A couple of things:
Diana and I will be offering the 2 Dog Lunch at this tournament, both days. That would be 2 dogs, condiments, a water or pop, and a bag of chips for $3. The dogs are your choice of the big smoked sausages we've offered in the past or all beef hot dogs. If you want the 2 Dog Lunch you have to pay Diana or me at registration so we know how many to cook for.
I'll be bringing a few dyed discs to the tournament to sell, or trade for player pack vouchers. I'll have a few Bears, Vaders, Yodas, Dead Jerrys, maybe a Cubs or a Stevie Ray on assorted plastic. Pitner is cool with this. Any cash I get I will spend in his store for new Brakel family throwing plastic.
THANK YOU FRANK GRIMES! We have an added sponsorship of $180 reward dollars that will be given out as extra CTP prizes throughout the weekend because of his gracious sponsorship! What a great guy!
Thanks for the reminder about my PDGA renewal

I bought the Lays Mixed Box of Little Bags of Chips, so tortilla chips of some kind will be an option. ;D
Bruce, thanks for doing the 2 dog lunch. Makes life a lot easier.
Anyone coming out this weekend that would like to donate mid range or putters to a convent in Michigan, please give them to me. My niece Meris joined the Sisterhood last Fall and has introduced disc golf to the convent. My sister gave them a Ching basket and my Dad is buying them another basket that Bruce will be delivering soon. From the sounds of their outings though they could use more discs. The nuns have made one field trip to a local nine hole course. I can only imagine what people must have thought if they saw them playing in their habits! LOL
Thanks!
I need video of some nun on nun action, Jon. Wouldn't want to make a habit out of it, though.
Nice turn out today. 61 players! 15 Open.
Thanks for getting scores up so quickly!
Results from today's event. Beautiful weather out today!

Ben C didn't?
I think anyone rated over 945 is already qualified.
Thanks for the great tournament everyone! I love it at Channahon, Frank! For some reason, I never seem to do well on tourneys there (check out my ugliness 2nd round :P) but always have fun. Enjoyed myself even when grumpy old hands wouldn't work. Oh well, I'll keep trying!

Jake, I'm sorry for not calling your name out for your overall trophy. I knew you were there but in the sea of trophies I just overlooked it. Congratulations!
No problem Jon! Didn't really need to be in the spotlight. Love the trophy though!
I have to comment that it was nice not to get wet ,
that the safety of the players was placed first rather than trying to get the round in
it was a pretty major storm to watch from the car

Kelsey and I delivered the basket and a big bag of discs to the convent on Sunday. We added some discs from our personal stash that have gone unthrown for some time. The phone number did not work so we just showed up on the convent doorstep. When we got close there were groups of nuns out walking on Warren Road so we asked for directions. I told them I had a delivery to make. I think half of them assumed I was referring to Kelsey. Sister Mary Elizabeth seemed very happy to have another basket and more discs, but she seemed like she might have been well practiced at rejoicing in all circumstances, so she was hard to read.

Do you know if my note to Meris made it there or if it will be delivered to her?
The card was delivered with the discs. I told Sister Mary Elizabeth, who received the delivery, that there was a card in there for a Sister formerly known as Meris Chaumont who was my niece. I got a blank look. I said, her name before she was a Sister was Meris, and show-mow is spelled c-h-a-u-m-o-n-t. Then she said that Meris was still using Meris and I said that there was a card in there from her other uncle.
